My Adventures As The Saiyan God of destruction

Chapter 18: Whispers of death

As they descended from the sky, Kade couldn't help but notice the moon hanging low over the horizon. It was a peculiar shade of blue, unlike any moon he'd seen before. "Hey Aria," he asked casually, "why's this moon so... blue?"

Aria chuckled, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "You really think that after all you've seen, a blue moon is weird?"

Kade shrugged. "Hey, I've learned not to question the randomness of the universe. Besides, it's kinda cool."

"It's not random," Aria began, her voice taking on an educational tone. "It's a safeguard. You see, on this planet, the Saiyans have a peculiar genetic trait. Under the light of a yellow moon, they transform into these... how do I put this delicately?"

"Giant, angry monkeys," Kade supplied with a smirk. "I've seen the show. They go full ape on the moon."

Aria rolled her eyes. "No, not giant apes, just a more primal form of themselves. It's a full moon transformation that can happen to any Saiyan."

"Ah, got it," Kade said, nodding. "

He turned to Aria with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Since I got a new outfit, I think it's only fair you get one too."

With a flick of his wrist, a swirl of dark energy coalesced around Aria. When it cleared, she was dressed in a sleek black leotard that clung to her curves like a second skin, a silver loincloth that barely covered the essentials, and a set of waist cloths that fluttered around her hips with each movement. She also sported a pair of matching silver neck and arm gauntlets that made her look like a divine warrior ready to face the universe.

Kade couldn't help but whistle. "Wow, Aria," he said, admiring his handiwork. "You look like a supermodel from the pits of HFIL."

Aria's cheeks flushed a shade of pink that even the blue moon couldn't hide.

"What... what did you do?" she sputtered, her eyes wide and unblinking.

"I figured you could use a new look," Kade said with a shrug, his voice still groggy from his ungodly slumber. "It's not like we're going to a tea party."

Aria's eyes narrowed, taking in the revealing attire that was more suited for a battle royale than a stroll through the heavens. But then she thought about it, the universe had seen her in far less, and the outfit did have a certain... flair to it. With a dramatic sigh, she slipped into the role with surprising ease, her grace not hampered by the skimpy fabric. "Fine," she conceded. "But if the universe starts cracking up at me, I'm blaming you."

Kade's grin widened. "If it does, I'll just blast them into oblivion with a Hakai wave," he said, flexing his muscles for emphasis.

Aria rolled her eyes. "As if you'd ever do such a thing," she teased, her voice a blend of affection and sarcasm.

But before she could elaborate, the weight of the day's battles and the sheer exhaustion of maintaining his new form caught up to Kade. With a contented sigh, he flopped onto the soft grass of the training field, his eyes fluttering shut. His snores grew louder by the second, a stark contrast to the quietude of the surrounding cosmos.

Aria watched him, a bemused smile playing on her lips. "Looks like someone's been hitting the divine energy drinks a bit too hard," she murmured. Despite her teasing, she couldn't help but feel a warmth in her chest at the sight of her companion, now a powerful deity, succumbing to something as mortal as fatigue.

The night had passed peacefully, the cosmos outside their window a serene tapestry of stars and distant galaxies. The quiet hum of the castle had been a comforting lullaby as Aria read through ancient tomes, eager to learn more about the mysteries of the multiverse. Her curiosity was boundless, and she knew that with Kade by her side, she'd be privy to secrets most angels could only dream of.

The first light of morning crept through casting soft, golden beams across the grass. Kade stirred, his divine aura dimming slightly as he shifted in his sleep. With a yawn that seemed to shake the very foundations of the feild, he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

Aria looked up from her book, her gaze shifting from the ancient texts to Kade's groggy form. "Finally, you're awake," she said, her tone a mix of amusement and relief. "I was beginning to think you'd decided to hibernate for the winter"

"Very funny," Kade said, his voice thick with sleep. "But seriously, Aria, you need to quit with the jokes. I've got a job to do"

Aria's smirk faded, her expression growing serious. She held up a glowing orb, the message from the Grand Priest displayed within it. "Planet Z-7 has gone to ruin. It's lost its vitality, its essence. It's time for it to be returned to the cosmic dust from which it came."

Kade sighed, stretching his arms and cracking his knuckles. "Alright, but before I go full 'God of Destruction' on it, let's check the place out. Maybe there's something cool to see." He flashed a cheeky grin. "Or something to save, you know, for the sake of good storytelling."

Aria rolled her eyes but couldn't resist his enthusiasm. With a graceful wave of her hand, she conjured a portal, and the two stepped through. The moment they arrived on the surface of Planet Z-7, the gravity of the situation hit them like a ton of bricks. The once-vibrant landscape had been ravaged into a monochrome wasteland. Skyscrapers lay in ruins, their jagged silhouettes piercing the ash-filled sky. The air was thick with the scent of decay, a stark contrast to the heavenly fragrance of their divine realm.
