Chapter 115: Reaching the peak of 1st floor
Returning to town, they found almost everyone talking about Fang (Leon). People speculated about which floor he might be on and discussed his achievements in awe.
Leon also noticed a lot of powerful individuals on the first floor. Normally, the level limit for the first floor is 80, but now there were many people above that level. However, due to the floor's rules, their extra levels were locked, though their skills were not. It was clear that there were many individuals here who could easily wreak havoc if they chose to.
Leon and his group paid no mind to the chatter and moved on. After submitting the quest related to Roman and claiming the reward, they left the town altogether.
As they moved out of town on their mounts, a lot of people glanced their way. However, after sensing their levels, most decided to let it go without any confrontation. Leon was now at level 69, and so were his two partners. Roselia, being his familiar, had her level tied to his. The same was true for Roman, who, as Leon's knight, also had his level tied to him.
"What's our plan now?" Roselia asked, breaking the silence as she rode alongside Leon.
Without glancing her way, Leon replied, "We've already gathered enough points to reach Floor Ten easily. For now, we'll focus on collecting resources and then head to the peak of this floor. Once there, we'll raid the True Undead King and wrap up the Alchemy Quest."
Roselia nodded, her expression calm but determined. "Sounds straightforward enough."
Roman rode slightly behind them, silently observing the interaction. He was still adapting to the dynamic between Leon and Roselia, as well as the incredible pace at which Leon planned their journey.
The forest trail ahead was dimly lit by the morning sun filtering through the trees. Despite the serene surroundings, Leon's mind was entirely focused on their objectives. With the points they had accumulated, reaching Floor Ten was already within reach, but Leon had no intention of skipping any opportunities to grow stronger. The True Undead King hidden quest, and Leon was determined to claim it for his own.
"We'll need to be prepared for the raid," Leon added. "The True Undead King isn't just a title. It's a tough boss, and I'm not taking any chances."
Roman nodded firmly. "As your knight, I'll ensure that nothing stands in our way, my lord."
Roselia smirked. "We'll crush anything that tries to stop us. This king won't know what hit him."
With that, the trio pressed onward, their mounts moving swiftly through the dense forest. Each of them carried the weight of their roles and the expectations Leon had set, ready for the challenges that awaited them.
The group moved through the forest, reaching their first dungeon of the day—a decrepit castle buried beneath layers of moss and overgrowth. Leon dismounted, taking in the eerie structure. The scent of decay hung in the air as faint wails echoed from within.
"Alright," Leon muttered, adjusting his gauntlets. "Let's make this quick. No point wasting time."
With Roselia and Roman tied to his level, Leon didn't need to worry about them falling behind. Instead, he focused on maximizing his growth and collecting resources.
The dungeon's entrance creaked open, revealing a dark hallway filled with skeletal warriors. Leon wasted no time.
"Sword Art: Crescent Slash!"
With a fluid swing of his weapon, a glowing arc of energy tore through the enemies, scattering bones across the stone floor.
Deeper into the dungeon, the enemies grew stronger. Spectral knights appeared, their ghostly forms wielding cursed blades. Leon activated Shadow Step, teleporting behind one and delivering a critical strike. The spectral knight let out a wail before vanishing into wisps of light.
As Leon dispatched the last enemy in the room, a chest materialized in the center. He opened it to find a stash of rare materials, including Darksteel Ore and an Enchanted Core—essential for crafting higher-tier weapons and armor.
" well, not what I expected" leon said packing them away as he said " lets move to next one" he said as other nodded.
Dungeon Dive: The Wailing Catacombs
The Wailing Catacombs sprawled deep beneath a forgotten graveyard, its twisting tunnels carved from pale stone and dripping with eerie, glowing ichor. The faint sound of lamenting voices filled the air, setting an ominous tone as Leon, Roselia, and Roman descended into the depths.
"Stay alert," Leon warned, his voice steady.
The path was treacherous, winding through narrow corridors that gave way to vast chambers. The first major challenge came in the form of a massive bone dragon, its skeletal wings scraping against the ceiling as it roared, spewing a torrent of cursed flames.
"Let's see what you're made of," Leon muttered, gripping his sword tightly.
The dragon's movements were both precise and relentless. It lashed out with its tail, causing the ground to tremble, while its fire scorched the air. Leon darted around the beast with Shadow Step, narrowly avoiding its deadly attacks.
Roselia stood back, casting supportive spells to keep Leon shielded, while Roman observed the dragon's movements, ready to leap in if necessary.
"Dragon Slayer Sword"
Leon's blade shimmered as he unleashed his devastating slash, severing the dragon's spine in a single, explosive motion. The skeletal beast collapsed into a heap, its ribcage glowing faintly before disintegrating.
"Impressive," Roman remarked, stepping forward to inspect the remains.
Without wasting time, the group pressed deeper into the dungeon, reaching a series of traps designed to protect the final boss chamber. Razor-sharp spikes shot from the walls, floors gave way to bottomless pits, and spectral arrows rained down from the ceiling.
Leon led the way, using his reflexes and quick thinking to navigate the deadly maze. Roselia provided insight into the mechanics of each trap, while Roman used his enhanced strength to disarm particularly stubborn mechanisms.
The chambers were sprawling with not juts traps but with monsters too, causing them to move cautiously as they disarms traps while also attacked monsters and preventing them from stepping on trap too. Discover stories at My Virtual Library Empire
" no, wonder this dungeon hasn't been raided" Roselia said as she slashed a Skeletal who was goin to step on a trap tile.
