Itaru stared at the prisoners as he removed the gem from the hammer.

"I will save you, but it won't be for free."

The prisoners began begging him to take off their shackles.

"Please! We'll do anything for you! End our suffering!"

Itaru smiled at their pleas, then crushed the gem that had kept the pressure and power suppression on their cuffs. Instantly, they were freed.

"I want the Lava Pearls,"

Itaru said while closely observing them. Surely one of them had some. He could feel the immense energy radiating from a few prisoners—five stood out in particular, as if they were from noble demon bloodlines.

One prisoner stepped forward, his head resembling that of an octopus, and bowed deeply.

"I am Malio, former leader of the Ava tribe. I pledge my life to serve you."

The murmurs that followed among the rest of the prisoners were loud. It was Malio. Who wouldn't know him? Had he not been captured by Prince Kairon, he would've become one of the greatest demon clan leaders.

All Itaru wanted were the pearls. A system window appeared before him—it was related to a skill he had unlocked.

But his focus didn't last long. Some prisoners had already begun to flee. As he finished reading the screen, he realized he still needed the Lava Pearls to upgrade his weapon.

"I'll find you wherever you run… and I'll end you."

Itaru's words struck fear into the remaining prisoners. Some of them whispered in panic. If they wanted to leave safely, they had to hand over the pearls.

As their representative stepped forward with the pearls in hand, several black plasma projectiles tore off his arm like a storm of bullets, raising a cloud of dust from the prisoners' panicked movements.

Everyone was trying to escape on their own. That energy signaled danger—the Prince's Knights had arrived. From behind the smoke and shadows emerged a massive beast. His red eyes burned with fury.

In his hand were the heads of the prisoners who tried to escape. He threw them beside those who had failed to run. Itaru brushed the dust off his hair calmly.

The black plasma blasts weren't just a warning—they had killed some of the prisoners. Itaru was supposed to save them. The pain of watching a superior predator take their lives stirred something deep inside him… an overwhelming urge to destroy that bull-headed knight.

"Who dares to kill Alakor, your overseer, you filthy demons?"

His voice thundered like cannons—deafening, deadly. A legendary killing intent radiated from him.

[System Quest: Rare Level – Defeat the Prince's Knight using your demon blood traits.]

Until now, Itaru had never felt a stronger desire to crush anything as much as he wanted to crush this knight's head. He grabbed one of the Lava Pearls, uncaring as the heat burned through his hand.

[Lava Pearl acquired. Weapon forging initiated.]

The system's voice echoed in his mind as Itaru advanced and stood before the knight, who was over five meters tall.

A kick—it caught Itaru off guard and sent him crashing into a southern hill, the rocks collapsing over him. The knight still stood motionless.

"Is there anyone else who dares challenge me? Your death would be a mercy."

He turned toward the remaining prisoners. They had been shackled for too long, most of their power drained. Even if they fought together, they'd be no match. Despair hung over them.

"I'm not done yet, you bastard!"

Itaru's shout and the rocks flying away made everyone stare at him in shock. In his hand was a hammer—similar to Alakor's but smaller, with strange engravings. The hammer had caught fire.

[Stamina increased by +7]

[Weapon trait activated: Speed, flexibility, and physical strength multiplied by 3×]

"Do you really think you can beat me with a toy like that?"

The knight laughed. He was one of the prince's strongest warriors. He had been irritated when ordered to inspect the lava pearl mine—he hated being dragged into errands related to the prince's fiancée's luxuries.

The flame around the hammer grew. Itaru slammed it into the ground. Five seconds passed. Nothing happened. Silence ruled as everyone waited.

Except the knight, who was laughing at Itaru's failure—until he felt hellfire engulf his feet. The ground had cracked open beneath him.

"Damn it… what is this power?"

He thought, only to sense Itaru behind him. The energy burst hurled the prisoners backward.

The knight managed to block Itaru's strike, but was shaken when he looked into his eyes. Itaru jumped back, then attacked again with a crazed grin—the knight began to think this man was truly insane.

"Die, you wretch!"

The knight roared, summoning plasma spheres around him, ready to unleash them.

[The hammer you possess has two skills: Ultrasonic Waves, which deal 40% damage to the enemy and cause hallucinations for two minutes, and Lava Surge, which you can use twice. It allows you to unleash hellfire to scorch your enemies.]

The system spoke in his mind as Itaru acrobatically dodged the knight's plasma blasts, leaping through the air.

"I already used Lava Surge earlier… If I want to succeed, I have to drown him in it completely to kill him,"

he thought, taking a deep breath. He had no time to waste—this hammer was rapidly draining his physical energy.

A barrage of plasma shots filled Itaru's field of vision. To the prisoners watching, it looked like he was completely surrounded—that this was the end for him.

Some of them even closed their eyes, unwilling to witness the sight of his death.

 "He's… still alive?" someone whispered.

"What is he?" another muttered, voice trembling.

The ground shattered when Itaru unleashed his ultrasonic strike. As the shockwave of invisible force rippled through the air. The knight screamed as his vision twisted. Even the prisoners clutched their heads, some collapsing, others spinning in panicked circles like broken marionettes.
