My Investment God System

Unlike the last time, there was no hesitation, only warmth and quiet understanding that neither of them wanted to rush this moment.

Her fingers curled against his chest, gripping the fabric of his shirt as he deepened the kiss ever so slightly, his hand tracing slow, lazy circles against the nape of her neck.

By the time they pulled away, Lily was completely breathless, her cheeks flushed red.

Maximus smirked. "So, did your little test give you any results?"

She buried her face in is chest, groaning in embarrassment. "You're so annoying."

His chuckle vibrated against her skin, and she felt the gentle press of his lips against the top of her head.

"Yeah, yeah," he said, still amused. "But you dig it don't you…"

As they made their way downstairs, lily stretched her arms above her head, letting out a soft yawn.

Maximus followed behind, rubbing the back of his neck. The warmth of the morning sun streamed through the large windows, casting long shadows across the living room floor.

"So, whats on the agenda today?" Lily asked, glancing at him as they entered the kitchen.

Maximus leaned against the counter, crossing his arms. "I need to finalize some stuff for business with my partner you saw in the restaurant that day."

She nodded in acknowledgement as she walked over to the fidge and swung it open. "Big business moves huh?"

Maximus smirked, "Trying to keep up with my schedule already?"

Lily, still facing the fridge, waved a dismissive hand. "Oh please, im just making sure you eat properly before you go running off to play monopoly." 

She turned back to him, puffing up her chest. "I'm going to make breakfast for you today, and you are going to sit down and eat…"

Maximus was taken aback momentarily but quickly regain composure. "Oh?"

"Yes." she grabbed some eggs, milk and butter from the fridge before placing them on the counter.

Then, she reached for the flour and sugar from the cabinet, her eyes shining with determination. "I'm gonna make the best pancakes and eggs you've ever tasted- no offense to your mom…"

Maximus chuckled, pushing himself off the counter and pulling out a stool. "Its alright, we don't even talk nowadays. Lets see what you've got though…"

Lily tied her hair up into a messy bun, grabbed a mixing bowl and started cracking eggs into it. Maximus watched as she beat the eggs, her tongue slightly poking out in concentration.

A few minutes later, lily plated the golden brown pancakes, set them on the counter and quickly scrambled the eggs before assembling the eggs.

She looked very satisfied with her work as she set the plates down on the breakfast table.

Maximus got up and grabbed two glasses, pouring them some fresh orange juice before sitting across from her.

Lily packed up a fork and twirled it between her fingers before cutting off a chunk piece of pancake and holding it up to Maximus. "Say ahhh!"

Maximus raised an eyebrow, "Feeding me now?"

She smirked. "You made fun of me earlier. This is my way of proving that I can cook."

Maximus sighed dramatically but leaned forward, letting her feed him the bite, he chewed thoughtfully before nodding. "Not bad, actually…it is really good."

Lily's chest rose. "Told ya!"

They continued eating, occasionally feeding each other between bite. The lighthearted atmosphere made the moment even more intimate.

As they finished their breakfast, lily stretched again, looking satisfied. "I think I'll call this a success."

Maximus smirked. "Alright, chef Lily I'll admit, you did well."

Lily grinned, clearly pleased with herself.

As maximus picked up his plate, he glanced at the time, "I should probably get ready to head out soon."

Lily tilted her head inquisitively, "Are you nervous?"

Maximus shook his head. "No, not really, its just a matter of finalizing everything. I should be back home late though…"

Lily nodded, watching as he started cleaning up. "Well, whatever happens, I'm sure you'll handle it."

He looked over his shoulder at her and smiled. "thanks."

A yellow taxi pulled up to the curb as they stood by the side of the road. 

Lily turned to Maximus with a playful smile. She entered the taxi and leaned slightly out of the window. 

"Don't forget me while you're making all your investment deals... Like last time." She teased, her voice light even in the morning breeze. 

"I couldn't even if I wanted to..." Maximus said with a chuckle. 

Lily giggled before blowing him a quick kiss, then the taxi engine revved and drove down the street. 

Maximus watched the car gallop out of sight, the playful ease on Maximus's face disappeared within the split second of the blink of an eye. 

"... Alright, let's begin" he murmured as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. 

He spun on his heel, walking towards the garage. 

As he pulled out his phone, it vibrated in his hand. 

"A call?" 

Beep*

"Maximus speaking..." 

"Mr. Prime, good morning... This is Tenzen Sama, I was informed that you have a completed apartment building for sale?" 

Maximus smiled to himself as he looked at the already active Investment God System interface showing him that a potential buyer has come forth. 

"That's correct. Prime location... Pun intended, modern structure, high occupancy potential". 

"I'm interested," Tenzen replied. "Would you be available for an inspection today?" 

Maximus checked his watch. It was still early. "I'm already at the site. If you can make it within the next hour, we can discuss the details... "

" Perfect! I'll be there shortly... "

*Beep! 

The phone shut off instantly and shoved into his pocket. 

He glanced at the system interface. 

"Been in level 2 for way too long, it's time for a Level up... "
