Chapter 532: Emerging with New Power - Part 2
"What did you just say, Dragon Progenitor?" The dragon ancestor was stunned, staring at Athena in disbelief.
Athena gave a faint smile and nodded. "Yes, I met her—and I received her legacy."
As she spoke, she clenched her right fist.
*Boom!*
A golden-red aura burst from her body, shooting upward until it struck the ceiling and shook the entire chamber.
Faced with that majestic surge of power, the dragon ancestor instinctively stepped back, his expression filled with shock.
The pressure Athena now radiated stirred something deep within his blood—it felt as if the one standing before him was no longer his beloved granddaughter, but a transcendent being far beyond him.
"This… this is the power of the First Progenitor of the Dragon Race!" His eyes widened, filled with awe and joy.
Though he had never met the First Progenitor of the Dragon Race, the aura Athena radiated was proof enough.
In the oldest records of their race, it was said that the First Progenitor had left behind a hidden legacy—sealed within the bloodline of dragons.
Only those deemed worthy would be able to awaken it—and rise to unimaginable power.
Over the ages, the dragon bloodline had gradually weakened.
Each generation was born slightly less powerful than the last.
And the legacy she left behind was believed to hold the key to the weakening of their bloodline.
It was said that those who inherited it would be able to restore their bloodline to the level of the First Progenitor.
Anyone could imagine how priceless that legacy truly was.
Back then, he had desperately hoped to obtain it himself. But whether due to lack of qualification or simply not being the chosen one, he had never been able to meet the First Progenitor of the Dragon Race.
And now, that long-held wish had been fulfilled—by his own beloved granddaughter.
Overwhelmed with joy, his body trembled.
Athena retracted her aura and smiled at both her ancestor and Miranda.
"So? What do you think of my new powers?" she asked playfully.
"Hahaha! Incredible!" The dragon ancestor burst out laughing, patting her shoulder proudly. "To think the legacy of the First Progenitor would end up in your hands… You truly are the lucky star of our race."
With Athena's newfound strength, he could finally breathe a sigh of relief.
The burden of protecting the Dragon Race no longer rested solely on his shoulders—Athena now shared that responsibility.
Miranda, finally recovering from her shock, nodded in approval.
"Your strength has clearly grown by leaps and bounds. This is good news for all of us," she said sincerely.
Without a doubt, Athena's newfound power brought hope.
With her by their side, they could face the Evil God with far more confidence.
They exchanged a few words before Miranda turned her head left and right, as if searching for something.
"By the way, where is my master? I don't see him," she asked hesitantly.
The dragon ancestor blinked, then furrowed his brows. "Hmm? Is the Fated One still in the pool?"
Athena glanced at the now-empty pool and let out a soft chuckle. "Don't worry—he'll be here soon."
And sure enough, just moments after she spoke, a faint tremor rippled through the marble floor beneath their feet.
Seconds later, a shadow shot out of the pool and landed squarely two meters in front of them.
It was Leon.
He straightened up and smiled calmly. "I'm back," he said as he walked toward them.
The dragon ancestor fixed his gaze on him, unable to hide his awe.
"It seems you've undergone quite the transformation, Fated One," he said with clear admiration.
Just like Athena, Leon appeared noticeably different from before he entered the blood pool.
His once youthful features had matured, and his golden eyes now emitted a faint glow. Streaks of gold shimmered subtly among his black hair.
His physique looked stronger and more defined, and though not drastic, he seemed slightly taller than before.
The most striking change was the dragon tattoo now emblazoned on Leon's right chest.
For some reason, the Dragon Ancestor could sense a faint pressure radiating from it.
Leon nodded slowly. "This opportunity I received is all thanks to you, Dragon Ancestor. I'm truly grateful. Your kindness will be remembered for the rest of my life."
He bowed respectfully, cupping his hands in front of him.
Startled by the gesture, the Dragon Ancestor quickly stepped forward and helped him stand upright.
"What are you doing, Fated One? I only helped you to prepare for the fight against the Evil God," he said, feigning annoyance.
Leon offered a sheepish smile. "Regardless of the reason, the truth remains—I was able to grow stronger because of you. That fact can't be denied."
From the training he'd received to the privilege of absorbing the dragon blood essence, Leon had felt the Dragon Ancestor's sincerity every step of the way.
He was truly a benevolent figure—so much so that Leon had no idea how to repay his kindness.
The Dragon Ancestor was deeply moved. His efforts and resources poured into training Leon hadn't been in vain.
Suddenly, a memory surfaced—words once spoken by his old friend Amon Crimson: "The Fated One will be the only living being with a chance to become a deity."
At the time, those words had felt exaggerated. But now... they no longer seemed impossible.
The young man standing before him truly possessed the qualities to make that prophecy come true.
"Alright, forget about that," the Dragon ancestor said with a pleased smile, patting Leon's right shoulder. "Now, tell us—what kind of opportunity did you gain after absorbing the blood essence in the pool?"
Miranda's eyes lit up with interest the moment the question was asked.
She could sense a significant change in her master, though the extent remained unclear.
Only Athena stayed calm, her expression casual—as if she had known everything from the start.
"I had the chance to meet Altair, the Mother of Dragons and the First Progenitor of the Dragon Race," Leon replied honestly.
The Dragon ancestor and Miranda exchanged shocked glances.
"You mean..." the Dragon ancestor began, but Athena cut in.
"Yes, Leon and I met her together."
"Hiss..." The dragon ancestor drew a sharp breath, eyes widening as he stared at Leon.
Not only his granddaughter—Leon had met the First Progenitor face-to-face.
A surge of awe—and a touch of envy—washed over the Dragon ancestor. Despite all his years of dedication, he had never been granted such an honor.
Was this the true privilege of the Fated One?
"In that case, what did the First Progenitor bestow upon you, Master?" Miranda asked, stepping closer, her gaze sweeping over Leon with curiosity.
Leon offered a faint smile as he brought his palms together.
"What I received is..."
*Boom!*
A burst of golden aura erupted from his body, shooting up and crashing against the ceiling. His pupils shifted—becoming vertical slits, gleaming with a sharp golden light.
*Roar!*
A massive golden dragon avatar, towering at fifteen meters, materialized behind him and let out a deafening roar that made the entire room tremble.
The Dragon ancestor and Miranda stared in stunned disbelief.
"This is..."
