Chapter 45: Fused souls
Fused souls
At first no one really knew what to do. Should they leave or should they stay. Hazel left it up to them and said nothing either way. Then, starting with George, they all left one by one.
After a short while she heard George's telepathic voice.
'Call me when you are done. I will wait up all night if I have to.'
'Okay'
She looked to her big brother and smiled, then sighed.
"You know that I love you more than anyone else in this world." She smirked. "Yes even more than I love George." They looked at each other for a moment, with the same smirk on their faces and then burst into laughter.
"You do know me better than anyone else."
She frowned but she did not refute his statement.
"I am getting stronger day by day. And I have just understood something that I was always aware of.
"We could be considered siamese twins because we are fused at the soul.
"The thing is this fusion is the tiniest thing. So it is difficult to detect. I only sensed the soul consciousness tunnel it creates and that is how I found you."
She paused.
"I would visit you thinking it was a dream, and wonder why I dreamed of myself as a boy." She shrugged. I guess I might have been very confused if I didn't always think like a scientist."
She calmed down as she realized how quickly she had been speaking.
"I just want to apologize to you. Dumbledore is making all these decisions for you and I am upset about it but I could have helped as well, if I only understood sooner. Or if I asked Shyla. I don't know. I just…"
Harry took her by the shoulders and turned her to him.
"Don't do this to yourself. You were a kid." He rolled his eyes. "You're still a kid. You can't blame yourself. Just help me now and all is forgiven."
She nodded. Only feeling a little bit better. She looked up and frowned. Harry followed her gaze and saw a ghost. He knew instantly that this was Michael.
"I am so glad you have a brother that cares for you." His smile faded. "I am not sure how I feel about George Weasley though."
Harry smirked and shot a side eyed glance at his sister.
"I am sorry that you feel that way. I like him quite a bit." Both Harry and Michael frowned at this. Michael shook him head to clear his thoughts.
"I need to tell you about something that Rosa has acquired."
Both Hazel and Harry listened attentively as Michael told them about the emotion doll. Before he finished Shyla had appeared on Haze's shoulder and listened as well.
Hazel and Shyla were both nodding in the end while Harry looked on in abject horror.
"Michael this is dangerous. Do not come into contact with this thing. And you see that Rosa is still intent on having you. I think it is time for you to move on."
"I know but I will do what I need to do to help you."
Hazel just rolled her eyes as she began to think. Still deep in thought she spoke to Shyla.
"Shyla can Michael have one of your tail feathers." Shyla nodded absent-mindedly and fluttered one of her wings into the air. One of her starry tail feathers appeared before Hazel. She took out a potion and poured it onto the feather. It came out thick and with one, two, three drops it had spread out and completely covered the feathers. It shone dazzlingly for a split second and then it was its shimmering starry self once more.
Hazel sent it forth and it embedded itself into Michael's transparent chest.
"This is a powerful ward but still be careful. Stay on the dreamscape tonight. Your soul is evolving and I want to make sure that I can easily find you at any given time."
"Okay. I can do that."
Later that night Hazel walked through the Dursley home. In every corner she placed something that she and the Weasley twins had actually invented a while ago.
There were many types of surveillance devices. This one actually insulted and distracted to give someone time to arrive if there was a burglary. It had pre-programmed responses to given situations but it also could evolve and learn different and unique responses for specific situations.
They also had a sophisticated camouflage enchantment on it that could be recharged when it reconnected to show the owner recorded data. With this Hazel placed them in both hidden and very visible places.
The entire time George was telling her if it was a good spot or not, by what he could see. She had ten looking glasses connected to them and he was using his to check on her work. She kept nodding as she listened to him. Then she froze when she was in the kitchen. She could hear someone coming down the stairs.
She melded herself into a wall and waited quietly. Dudley entered the kitchen and moved to the fridge without turning on a light. She watched him as he opened the fridge and piled food into his arms just to sit and the table and begin to eat without closing the fridge.
Hazel frowned as she wondered how long he would take. She also rethought her plan to send Harry food as she watched her cousin, rather quickly, eat a mountain of food.
"Eeew! Is this how he eats all the time."
'I have no idea. I would assume so.'
It only took Dudley thirty minutes to finish his food, and another hour for Hazel to finish. She even placed some in the bedrooms, backyard, and front yard.
As an afterthought she even returned to the kitchen and closed the refrigerator door. She was definitely sending food for Harry.
'What do you think I would need to ensure food I sent Harry was unappealing to someone else? Or maybe even made them sick if they ate it?'
George smirked. "I have some ideas. We'll talk to Fred."
Hazel nodded as a door opened for her and she left her Aunt and Uncle's house.
Everyone was on the dreamscape learning how to use the looking glasses that Hazel enchanted. Harry would be returning there tomorrow and he and Ron still had problems using the incantation to activate them.
The incantation was [Monstra Mihi] and Hazel was beginning to understand why these things were only spoken and never written.
"No. It's 'mon-stra mee-hee'" Both Evervine and Hermione looked at the boys sternly.
"[Monstra Mihi]" Harry's mirror lit up with a light blue light and he could see the kitchen of the Dursley home. He nodded in silence then gave the command to stop the spell.
He said the incantation again and again the mirror lit up light blue. Everyone looked to Ron. He swallowed loudly.
It only took Ron a few more minutes to use the Incantation consistently and now they were all sitting around the dream scape in their own thoughts.
"Oh." Fred set forward, his hand still on Angelina's thigh. "The Weasley's will be hosting all of you at the Quidditch world cup." He grinned broadly.
Marcel was smiling broadly. He had been interested in this game ever since he saw some footage that Hazel had recorded of Harry playing. But it was Evervine who asked a question that never occurred to him.
"All of us?"
Marcel's smile fell as he looked to Fred in anticipation.
Fred nodded vigorously.
"Yes, of course. Both you and Marcel as well."
"Our parents are excited about meeting all three of you."
Harry frowned at how George's hand was in Hazel's lap and how he was looking into her eyes. He opened his mouth to speak but Hermione quickly spoke first, and what she said made him snap his mouth shut.
"Explain this emotion doll to us."
Hazel didn't say anything for a while and then she turned and smiled. Everyone turned as one to see what she was looking at. Michael stood looking at them all. Marcel smiled broadly.
"Cousin! Visit your mother at least once you idiot."
He looked to his cousin with a sad smile. "I think it would hurt her too much."
Marcel was shaking his head adamantly. "No. When Hazel told her you had not left she began hoping you would come to her."
Michael frowned and looked from Evervine to Hazel and back to his cousin. All he got were nods.
"Well. If Hazel tells me how I can help her against this emotion doll I will visit my mother."
All eyes turned to Hazel. She smirked and decided that it wouldn't hurt anything if they knew some of what was going on.
