My name is Hazel: The story of Harry Potter's twin

Chapter 46: Michael and the Emotion Doll

Michael and the Emotion Doll

"I really do not feel the need to tell you about this because it is my problem." Everyone just stared at her in silence and she knew that this was not going to fly with them. She sighed.

"The emotion doll is what is called a black fate object. For an object to be considered of black fate it had to be created during or because of a time of darkness within a fate line.

"Darkness does not necessarily mean tragedy or something bad within the moment. Most of the time it means that something it is the harbinger of something that will occurred further along the fate line.

"The emotion doll is unique because it is the actual child of a fated person. This child and her mother died at the same time shortly after the child was born. This directly led to a need to sever fate.

"When this line of fate was severed this child awoke. She awoke in a way that stirred and twisted fate. The dark side of fate covets her while the light despises her. Both sides fear her but for a fatetress she is a neutrality that can destroy both the dark and the light.

"She can not hurt me but she can neutralize me and destroy my connection to fate."

"So you would no longer be the fatetress and Rosa would win."

Hazel pondered this and then nodded. Both Hermione and Evervine narrowed their eyes at her.

"And?" "What else?"

They spoke almost in unison. Hazel smiled slyly.

"When I lose my connection to fate I do no die but for you, and anyone who ever knew me I would never have existed. To you I would cease to be but you would not remember anyway"

She shrugged. "But for someone in Michael's state she could erase the soul and stop him from returning to the collective. The soul would wander about in the space between reality and the veil. With no access to anything. You have to have access to either what's behind the veil or reality itself to enter the dreamscape or the collective consciousness.

"This is also what happened to those she had try to wake the emotion doll. They now wonder the in between.

"And it is important to know. She is called a doll but she was actually once a person. She only lived for a short time but she did live."

Evervine nodded. "What dimension does she originate from?'

Hazel nodded because she knew her friend understood.

"She originates from Sala, the second dimension."

Evervine nodded in understanding. Hermione had to think on what her two friends had taught her about the dimensions. She eventually frowned when she thought that she could not find the right piece of information, then her eyes went wide.

"It's because Sala Dimension is fated."

Hazel, Evervine, and Marcel all arrived at the Weasley home together and well after Harry and Hermione had arrived. A gilded door opened in the middle of the garden.

"They're here mum." Jennie called to her mother excitedly. She and Hermione had been in the exact spot for some time waiting for their friends' arrival. When the door bloomed to life they both sucked in breaths of excitement.

Mrs. Weasley came scurrying out of the house with a huge grin on her face. She had been waiting to see the girl that had her George so enamored. Fred and Angelina had almost escaped her because Fred behaved rather normally. George on the other hand seemed to always be soaring high in the clouds.

And Harry's reactions to all of this had her even more intrigued.

The first to walk through were Evervine and Marcel. Hazel stepped through the door and surveyed the home. She smiled. It was just as she had imagined.

Evervine and Marcel also looked on with a bit of wonder in their faces.

Mrs. Weasley came forward quickly.

"Come come. You must be Evervine and Marcel and this must be our little Hazel."

Hazel paused at her moniker and looked to Hermione questioningly. Hermione merely smirked.

They were ushered in. The girls were taken to Jennie's room while Marcel was taken to Ron's. It all happened so quickly that Evervine and Hazel were both left sitting in Jennie's room a bit perplexed.

Jennie and Hermione laughed. This woke Evervine.

"My mother sent food."

Hazel looked to Jennie.

"I have a feeling that you'd better take it to Mrs. Weasley now if you want it used and not something of hers."

Evervine nodded and stood. Hermione and Jennie exchanged looks. Hazel narrowed her eyes at this but simply shrugged.

"I will take Evervine and Marcel to Mrs. Weasley. Jennie wants to talk to you Hazel."

Jennie gasped as Evervine frowned and Hermione pushed her from the room. Hazel razed an eyebrow to the spectacle.

Jennie actually looked at her shyly and Hazel frowned.

"Is this about you liking Harry."

Jennie's eyes went wide and she put a finger to her lips and ran to the door to see if anyone had been there. Hazel watched with a knowing smile on her face.

"No one is there and my brother is oblivious. But why would you need to speak to me?" She sat down on the floor and looked up questioningly at the younger girl.

Jennie began to pace and Hazel frowned. Hazel almost scratched the back of her head in confusion as Jennie tried to collect her thoughts but never did. Once Evervine and Hermione returned they both looked to Hazel. All she could do was shrug helplessly and look at Jennie's back as she chewed on her lip, still lost in thought.

Michael had never been stubborn when he was alive. He just went with the flow and he never railed against anything. He always told himself that he got what he needed and deserved. The rest was not for him or of no importance.

He knew that he should not be here. He knew that he was risking all. That this could be the true end of him, but he had to. He had no choice. He had loved Hazel when he first met her and as they studied together that awkward toddler crush turned into the love that he had always known it had been.

But he felt she never wanted him. When he realized he had been wrong he was already enthralled. He knew he could have broken it but he saw how he had utterly hurt Hazel and he knew he did not deserve her so he stayed.

Only to hurt her more, he realized after.

What an insane mess.

He stepped from the shadows and took hesitant steps to the emotion doll. He wasn't even sure what he would do if he could obtain it

Yes. He would take it to Hazel. Of course that's what he would do. He nodded to himself and stepped forward again.

And then it happened. Didn't Hazel say the doll only looked to where her mother was? Why was it looking…

Michael could not complete the thought. A fire seemed to bloom within him and he opened his mouth in a silent, anguished scream. He felt the doll in his soul. He felt the curiosity of a child that just found a new toy. But the pain. The pain he could not explain.

It was as if someone was scraping his flesh away. Like there was an erosion that was eating his skin but an acid was used to eat that and a fire was used to handle the acid. All the while his skin was being devoured by all three.

His mind buzzed then blurred and he thought about not even having skin and a new bloom of pain erupted inside his soul as more of the girl's curiosity was peaked.

Then, when he thought he would not be able to take it anymore she was beside him looking at him with a bit of anger and a bit of frustration.

He couldn't speak, he couldn't smile. All he could do was bask in his pain.

Hazel shook her head and looked to the doll. As soon as she did the emotion doll turned its head back to her mother's resting place. Hazel cocked her head to the side and said nothing.

She just looked at the emotion doll for a long while. Finally she spoke.

"I know that he is interesting but you can not have him."

Hazel looked on as if she were listening to a conversation. Magic slowly flowed from her in thick swirling streams. They fell on Michael like a blanket and covered where his formed had seemed to amorphously pool on the floor.

All this happened and still it seemed as if Hazel was in the depths of an intense conversation.

She nodded slowly and both she and Michael disappeared as if they were just blurry mirages in the desert.

Hazel opened her eyes to see a room full of people staring at her. Her eyes went wide for a moment but she calmed when she spotted Harry and she smiled when she saw that George was still beside her.

Marcel came forward, Evervine's hand on his shoulder to calm him.

"Is he okay?"

"Yes. I am going to have to send him through the veil. I sent him to his mother and I will go to them later."

Marcel nodded blankly as Evervine wrapped an arm around him and Hazel explained what happened
