My Name Is Uchiha Kuragami, I Beat The Villagers And Made Them Scream

Chapter 12: The Yamanaka Clan

"This is none of the Uchiha Clan's concern." Hiroshi Shimura said through gritted teeth.

With that, Kuragami Uchiha said no more. He led his men, along with the three captured elders of the Shimura Clan, and retraced their path back.

The three captives were all high-ranking members of the Shimura Clan; otherwise, they wouldn't have been in charge of coordinating with Danzo. However, under Kuragami Uchiha's deliberate arrangement, the escort team made sure to march the prisoners straight through the busiest commercial district of Konoha.

Soon, news of the Uchiha Clan arresting members of the Shimura Clan spread through the village like wildfire.

Upon returning to the Konoha Military Police Force headquarters, Kuragami Uchiha immediately ordered the three captives to be sent for interrogation. The moment it was known that members of the Shimura Clan were being questioned, many in the Uchiha Clan were eager to participate.

It was clear that the coming night would be anything but easy for those three.

That said, Kuragami Uchiha didn't expect them to confess anything. The Shimura Clan, especially those deeply tied to Danzo, were a group of diehards. Even if they were threatened, they would never betray Danzo.

But Kuragami Uchiha wasn't after their secrets. He merely needed to set an example. The warning had been delivered. Now, it was time to collect something of real value from the monkeys he intended to warn.

Kuragami remained in his office until late at night before changing into fresh clothes and heading out into the village alone.

By then, the once-bustling commercial district had started to quiet down. Shop owners were closing for the night.

At the entrance of the Yamanaka Flowers shop, a small blonde girl was huffing and puffing as she carried flowers back inside. Despite her young age and baby-fat cheeks, it was obvious she would grow into a beautiful woman.

Kuragami Uchiha approached the shop, and the little girl noticed him; she turned and said sweetly: "Big brother, we're already closed."

"Looks like I came too late." Kuragami Uchiha said with a smile. "But, would the little shop owner make an exception? I'd like to buy some flowers to honor my fallen clan members."

The little girl was clearly a fan of handsome faces. The moment she got a good look at Kuragami, her eyes sparkled with admiration.

"Of course! If it's for honoring your clan, would cornflowers be alright? I'll get some fresh ones from the fridge!"

Ino Yamanaka chirped as she ran inside.

"I'll be counting on you then."

Kuragami said with a smile.

Just then, a tall man slowly stepped out from inside the shop.

"Ino, go upstairs. I'll handle this customer." Inoichi Yamanaka said as he walked over.

"Eh?"

Ino glanced at Kuragami, then back at her father. With a reluctant pout, she put down the flowers she was carrying and headed upstairs.

"Clan head Kuragami, visiting our humble flower shop late at night, is it just to buy some flowers?"

Inoichi asked after making sure his daughter was gone.

"Of course."

Kuragami replied. "You see, last night, we reclaimed a few Sharingan that had been taken by Danzo. Although it's difficult to trace which fallen clan members they originally belonged to, we still need to hold a proper funeral for them."

"My condolences."

Inoichi said as he carefully wrapped a few bundles of cornflowers and handed them to Kuragami. "Consider these flowers a tribute from the Yamanaka clan to the spirits of the Uchiha."

"I appreciate your generosity, clan head Inoichi."

Kuragami said with a smile as he accepted the flowers.

He then lowered his head, inhaling the fragrance of the flowers before casually remarking: "That little girl just now, is she your daughter? She's adorable."

"She's in the same class as elder Fugaku's second son, isn't she? I've heard she loves clinging to our young Sasuke."

Inoichi's eyes narrowed slightly, but he kept his expression neutral. "They're just children playing around."

"I wouldn't say that."

Kuragami chuckled. "Childhood sweethearts, what a beautiful term. How about we arrange a marriage between our clans? What do you think, clan head Inoichi?"

"The children are too young. Let's discuss this when they're older." Inoichi rejected the proposal without hesitation.

Kuragami wasn't surprised. The Yamanaka-Nara-Akimichi trio had always been loyal to the Hokage's faction. Naturally, they wouldn't want to get involved with the Uchiha.

"Fair enough." Kuragami nodded. "You've been the Yamanaka clan head for quite some years now, haven't you? Under your leadership, the Yamanaka have truly flourished. I should learn from you how to lead a clan properly."

"It's merely the trust of my clan members."

Inoichi responded.

"You must be quite well-respected among your people."

Kuragami said with a smile. "Of course, in any clan, there are always a few who don't know their place, right?"

Inoichi's eyes sharpened. "What do you mean by that?"

"We captured a loyalist of Danzo's in the root today."

Kuragami said. "He's from your Yamanaka clan. This puts me in a tough position; after all, we all serve under the Hokage. It would be unfortunate if this matter caused tension between our clans."

"Was it Foo?"

Inoichi's gaze flickered. "That man has long forsaken the honor of our clan since joining the root. You don't need to show any mercy on my behalf. Handle him as you see fit. If necessary, I'll personally clean the house."

"I see." Kuragami nodded. "He has forgotten his roots, then? No wonder he started making wild accusations."

"Accusations?" Inoichi frowned.

"Indeed. That man claimed that, during his time in root, he funneled a total of 140 million Ryō to the Yamanaka clan through his position."

Kuragami smiled as he looked into Inoichi's eyes. "Of course, I know the Yamanaka wouldn't make such a fundamental mistake, and I don't doubt you. However, during our investigation into Root's finances, we did find over a hundred million Ryō unaccounted for. If possible, I'd appreciate it if you could visit the Uchiha Konoha Military Police Force sometime. After all, I need to explain this missing sum to the Hokage."

"I understand. I'll stop by the Konoha Military Police Force soon." Inoichi said after a brief moment of thought.

"Then I won't keep you from your family dinner any longer."

Kuragami said, waving the bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Also, on behalf of my fallen clan members, I thank you for your generosity, clan head Inoichi."
