Chapter 317: Perfect Plan
Lucian had sensed that his mother had tried to commit suicide. How could he just get out of this misery so easily? She had to suffer enough.
Lucian was fully enjoying the wholesome time with his family. Seeing them all smiling, he was even more determined to get stronger and protect them from whatever was about to come.
He spent a couple of days with them and even met up with his friends. After discussing the plan for D-Day, Lucian finally decided to head back to the other Earth. Very soon, both places would merge before the disaster appeared.
It was night. He had informed his family that he wouldn't be waking up for a few days and that they shouldn't panic when those numbers appeared in the sky.
After giving all his instructions and bidding goodbye for a short while, Lucian closed his eyes and spoke to Zero:
'Let's go back. We are gonna need to grind a lot once we arrive there.'
[Alright boss, let's go.]
Lucian's consciousness soon drifted off into darkness. The effect of traveling didn't seem as strong as before; it felt like just a moment as he blinked his eyes and woke up on the other Earth in the next instant.
Lucian took a deep breath and then looked around at his surroundings. He remembered that this was a chasm where he had come to level up, but he got injured here previously.
He sat up and looked down at his body. There were no injuries, but his clothes were in slightly bad condition. He took out a set of clothes and changed.
The chasm was already gone. He walked out of the building and saw several women nervously waiting for him.
They were sent here to help him with the pendulum. Lucian nodded toward them before saying: "Good job. You can leave now and inform your leaders that they don't have to find chasms for me anymore."
"S-Sir Maledict, are you really alright?" one of the women asked. They had seen just how injured he was a minute ago, but now he seemed perfectly fine.
"Yeah, you don't have to worry." Lucian replied. The women noticed that somehow his aura seemed much stronger than before. Even their previous leader, one of the 8th Phase humans, might pale slightly in comparison.
Then Lucian simply disappeared from their sight. He flew into the sky and remembered that he had to return home and meet up with his mother—the sweet and caring mother.
He flew back toward his home, and while flying he asked: "Zero, how long do you think you can keep the copied skill for now?"
[Should be up to three to four days for now, but if our strength increases, then even more than a week.]
Nodding his head, Lucian knew that even though he had found a cheat-like leveling method, it still might not be enough to protect everyone he wanted to.
While flying back, he pondered long and hard. Then a thought popped into his mind and Lucian wondered: "Just this Earth alone has so many chasms, from 1st Phase to 8th, and when I enter another planet, won't they have several of their own chasms? If I can absorb all that energy, won't my strength just shoot off the roof?"
[Yes, your strength will definitely increase, but it isn't possible to enter from one planet to another while you're already inside a chasm. So how do you plan to do that exactly?]
"Well, we won't know anything until we try. I have a couple of ideas. If we can really succeed, then we will grow extremely rapidly within a short time." Lucian said. After meeting with Natasha and Jasmine, he planned to start grinding for levels instantly.
Soon he arrived at the building. Jasmine had returned from her work and Natasha was already sitting there.
The two women were seated on the sofa on opposite sides, and it was obvious they didn't like one another.
Sigh… I almost forgot how much they hate each other. Lucian shook his head as he directly entered the room from the balcony.
He sat down on a seat at the center with his mother on his right and his wife on his left.
"Is everything fine?" Lucian asked as he relaxed in his seat and turned the television on to watch some news.
"First tell me, you didn't get injured, right? And why have you changed your clothes?" Natasha asked worriedly.
"You went out to do something dangerous?" Jasmine questioned, her gaze narrowing.
"Yeah, I'm fine. And yup, it was a little dangerous, but nothing I couldn't handle." Lucian smiled, then spoke: "Mom, watch this."
A sound of a tap reverberated in the room, and in the next moment, Lucian casually moved his right hand and tapped on the table.
"!!!" Both Natasha and Jasmine stared at him in surprise, before his mommy asked in shock:
"Isn't that my ability? How are you able to use that?"
Shrugging his shoulders, Lucian replied: "Well, one of my abilities allows me to copy others' abilities. And I can do more than that."
Then he picked up a pen from the table and twirled it between his fingers for a few seconds. The pen broke into tiny, unseeable parts, breaking apart into their cellular form.
This time Jasmine was even more shocked. This was clearly her ability—fusion and controlling matter.
"You two don't have to worry about me. I can protect myself." Lucian said with a smile. His aura baffled the two women.
They couldn't understand how he could have grown so much all of a sudden. It seemed his strength was no lower than their own.
"What is going on exactly? You're hiding something from us, right?" The two women looked at him with narrowed eyes. They didn't like being kept in the dark by the person they loved the most.
"Yeah, it is a bit of a secret. As you might or might not know, there is another Earth which is almost opposite to this one—where women aren't the ruling party. And I can travel to that place…" Lucian told them about the other Earth and the event with the merging, and a few more things.
The two listened to him carefully and were shocked by his words, but they believed everything he said.
"Oh!! So such a major event is about to take place just a few days later? Even with our current strength, I doubt we'll be enough to push back the disaster." Natasha mumbled, her brows furrowing.
"So hubby, do you have some kind of plan?" Jasmine had decided to put her faith in him. He was different from any other man, so she completely trusted his intelligence and strength.
"Yeah, I do have something planned. But I need to prepare for it." Lucian said, and decided to tell them what exactly his plan was: "I can only try to increase my strength as much as I can. That is the only way."
"By clearing the chasms? Is that really a plan? Then everyone is following that plan of yours." Natasha spoke as she pursed her lips.
"No, it is kind of different. Uhmm… just know that I can grow stronger faster than others, so I plan to increase my strength as much as I can." Lucian added, and the two beautiful ladies nodded. He did grow strong too fast.
