My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: It’s Mom!

The simply decorated room had only basic furniture, with a few vases of flowers in the corner. A faint bamboo fragrance wafted in through the window, and in front of Kazuki was a steaming cup of strong tea.

"My apologies for the humble hospitality," Daisy said with a smile as she gracefully sat down across from Kazuki. Her posture was elegant and dignified. Unlike her lively demeanor during the water ballet performances, she now exuded a maternal aura, warm yet tinged with a subtle melancholy.

The strange atmosphere made Kazuki feel a bit awkward.

If it were someone he knew well, it wouldn't be a problem, but he wasn't great at initiating conversations with older women.

He regretted not insisting that Gary stay behind. Sure, Gary could be annoying at times, but at least he'd help share the burden.

Gary had claimed he needed to hurry to the next town, even though there was plenty of time before the Indigo Plateau Conference. Was he trying to stay ahead of Ash?

As childhood friends, Kazuki had always seen Ash and Gary competing in everything, a stark contrast to his own laid-back, easygoing nature.

"Um…" Daisy's soft voice pulled Kazuki back from his wandering thoughts. She twirled a strand of her golden hair, seemingly unsure how to begin.

"How is… my little sister, Misty?" she finally asked. Her emerald eyes tried to remain calm, but her grip on the teacup tightened unconsciously.

"Misty and I only met by chance, and we just happened to get along well. I can't really vouch for her current situation," Kazuki replied, glancing subtly at Daisy's expression. He added, "But from what I've seen, she's a determined and strong-willed girl. She can definitely take care of herself."

"I see," Daisy said, picking up her teacup. She blew on it gently before taking a small sip. "Misty is different from us. She's always dreamed of becoming a great Pokémon Trainer, which is why she left home."

"I… haven't been a good sister," Daisy said, her voice heavy with guilt as she lowered her head.

"This Gym was passed down from our father, but neither I nor my sisters have much interest in Pokémon battles. I thought we could support the family through our water ballet performances…"

"But Misty doesn't want the Cerulean Gym to fall into decline?" Kazuki interjected, starting to understand the family's predicament.

As everyone knew, Pokémon Gyms were responsible for testing Trainers' skills and providing them with challenges, playing a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of Trainers. Because of their importance, the Pokémon League regularly assessed each Gym's qualifications. If a Gym failed multiple assessments, it would lose its status and be replaced by a new Trainer appointed by the League.

First-generation Gym Leaders appointed by the League rarely faced replacement unless they chose to retire. However, when they stepped down and passed the Gym to their successors, situations like the Cerulean Sisters—who had no interest in Pokémon battles—could arise, leading to the current crisis at the Cerulean Gym.

"Yes, Misty doesn't want the Cerulean Gym to end with us. Since my sisters and I have abandoned our duties as Trainers, she'll inevitably take over as Gym Leader. But…"

"But becoming a Gym Leader means she can't leave freely, which would prevent her from pursuing her dreams. Am I right?" Kazuki finished Daisy's thought, looking at the calm surface of his tea, which reflected his own face. He could guess why she had invited him here.

"The Cerulean Sisters are inseparable. Even if you were willing to take on a job you don't like, it would affect your sisters' careers. But if you don't take over as Gym Leader, Misty's dreams would be hindered. So, Miss Daisy, what do you want me to do?"

The teacup clinked softly on the table, the liquid inside rippling. Daisy took a deep breath, her eyes filled with unprecedented determination.

"If possible, I'd like to hire you as the acting Gym Leader of the Cerulean Gym."

Acting Gym Leader… What a dilemma.

Lying flat on the soft mattress, Kazuki recalled the events of the day. Daisy hadn't pressured him to make an immediate decision and had even thoughtfully provided a room for him to rest in.

As for the terms, he could keep the full salary of a Gym Leader, along with a generous hiring fee. All he had to do was represent the Cerulean Gym and accept challenges and assessments.

Objectively, the offer was incredibly tempting. Not to mention, he'd only need to use the Gym's Pokémon for battles, so his own team wouldn't be at risk. It was practically his ideal job.

So why was it so hard to decide?

"Arf~"

A black paw climbed onto the bed, followed by a furry wolf head peeking out from below, tilting its head at him with perked ears.

A flash of light, and the wolf-eared girl he'd seen earlier reappeared before him. With a slightly confused expression, she placed her soft hand on his head, ruffling his black hair into a mess.

"Hei… what are you doing?"

Hei looked cheerful, her eyes curving into crescent moons. "Getting head pats makes me happy~ And if I'm happy, Kazuki will forget about his worries~"

Kazuki's heart skipped a beat. Seeing her innocent smile with a hint of fangs, he felt his energy drain instantly.

He reached out, stroking the fur between her ears. Hei's entire body relaxed, her tail wagging happily behind her, clearly enjoying the attention.

"Where's Aron? Out training again?"

"Big sis said she's practicing a new move~ I don't know why… but she seems really eager lately."

Her eagerness to improve wasn't hard to understand, given her competitive nature. She probably felt left behind after Hei's evolution.

The problem was, Kazuki didn't know how to comfort her. Aron was stubborn and wouldn't change her mind once it was set. Maybe silently supporting her was the better option.

"Kazuki, Kazuki!"

"What is it?" Kazuki looked down to see Hei no longer content with just leaning on the bed. She had climbed onto it entirely.

"Want… to sleep together~"

It wasn't entirely unexpected. When Hei was still a Poochyena, he'd often slept with her in his arms. But now that she'd grown into a young woman, it felt a bit dangerous.

Yet, under the gaze of her "Puppy Eyes," Kazuki couldn't bring himself to refuse. But if she transformed back into her beast form, how would they fit on the bed? He might end up crushed to death.

Between the risk of suffocation and the risk of… something else, Kazuki chose the latter. With a resigned sigh, he opened his arms, letting the excited Hei crash into his chest, her head nuzzling against him.

His hands wrapped around her waist, her back smooth and unlike her beast form. The soft, bouncy pressure against his chest stirred some subtle reactions in his body.

Hei was beautiful in her human form, her looks rivaled only by his troublesome mother. In fact, when he was younger, he might have imagined this scenario countless times.

But… it wasn't the right time. He knew that Hei's affectionate behavior was still rooted in their past dynamic. It wasn't romantic or passionate, but more like a pet's attachment to its owner.

Could a simple-minded Pokémon truly develop romantic feelings for a human? Kazuki didn't know. Did having a human form just provide a convenient shell, or did it also inherit the complex thoughts and emotions of humans?

Lost in these thoughts, he drifted off to sleep. His body remained entwined with Hei's, but his consciousness seemed to sink into another world—

A dreamlike world surrounded by dazzling stars.

Kazuki wandered aimlessly, unsure of his destination, just walking forward endlessly. Until a soft, ethereal voice called out to him:

"Kazuki, Kazuki!"

He stopped, looking around, but aside from the shimmering stars, he saw nothing else, let alone a living being that could speak.

"Kazuki! Look at me, I'm here!"

The voice came again. Kazuki looked left and right but still couldn't find the source. Narrowing his eyes, he spoke with a hint of warning:

"Who's playing tricks? Show yourself!"

As he spoke, his hand reached for his waist, but the empty feeling made him freeze.

His Poké Balls were gone… Had he been kidnapped? Hei, Aron, and Eevee… Damn it, he didn't know if they were okay.

"I'm down here! Look down!"

This time, the voice sounded a bit annoyed, but the cute tone made it hard to take seriously. Kazuki looked down, and what he saw nearly short-circuited his brain.

Standing before him was a little girl who only reached his waist. She wore a pristine white dress, her short golden hair framing her face, with three blue ribbons adorning it. Her hands were on her hips, her crystal-clear eyes marked by two teardrop-shaped blue patterns. Her puffed-up cheeks made her already adorable face even more lethal.

"Where did this… little girl come from?" Kazuki's brain was still rebooting, his words stiff like a rusty clockwork. But before he could recover, the little girl dropped an even more shocking bombshell:

"I'm not just any little girl! Kazuki, you should call me Mommy~"

"Huh?"
