My Pokemon Turned into Girls?!

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Jirachi

"You... what are you talking about?"

Kazuki bent down slightly, tilting his head to the side, trying to hear more clearly.

"I already told you to call me Mommy~!" The blonde little girl raised her arms, her small, soft white hands waving around in the air.

Alright, so it wasn't a hallucination…

Kazuki reached out with both hands and, gripping her under her armpits, lifted her high above his head. Losing the grounding sensation of her feet on solid earth, the little girl looked confused at first. But as reality set in, her rosy cheeks suddenly reddened further, almost steaming, and she flailed her tiny pink fists, smacking them against Kazuki's head.

"Kazuki! How can you treat your Mom like this?! Put me down right now!"

Nope, he didn't feel a thing. How could the soft, feeble fists of a little girl possibly hurt him?

Sighing lightly, Kazuki looked up at the blonde girl, whose "I'm super angry right now!" face was as plain as day, and said, "Look, I don't know why you're saying this, but I need to clarify something: I do have parents. In other words, this kind of scenario—like finding a magic ring in a ditch that happens to contain a Pokémon who turns out to be your long-lost mother—is something that only happens in novels. It's just not real."

Even putting that aside, on a purely rational basis, her golden hair, along with her overall appearance, bore almost no similarity to his. Forget being called his mother; even claiming to be his sister would make most people question if they were even related.

But the little blonde was clearly dissatisfied with Kazuki's words. Her legs flailed even harder in the air.

"It is! It is! Kazuki, you're totally my child!"

Ugh, this was giving him such a headache. Honestly, this kind of nonsense attitude was, in a way, oddly reminiscent of his own mom's behavior.

"Alright, alright... Just for the sake of argument, let's say you're my mom. You still need to give some evidence before I can believe it, right?"

"Of course. It's because you have the power of wishing, Kazuki~!"

"Wishing?" Kazuki squinted. That sounded like some really impressive, but totally incomprehensible, term.

"A wish is the desire of all living things, a longing for something wonderful in their hearts. To take that possibility, whether realistic or not, and make it come true in reality—that is the power of wishing. And that power… is mine."

The blonde little girl proudly planted her hands on her hips, tilted her head back, and half-closed her eyes, as if basking in her own glory. However, one of her eyes peeked open slightly, sneaking a glance to see if Kazuki was looking at her with an expression of awe and admiration.

Unfortunately, Kazuki only wore an expression of deep thought.

After a while, he asked, "So you're saying you can grant wishes? And you're telling me I have some kind of wishing power in me… But I don't have any special abilities. And how does this connect to me being your child?"

"Having the power of wishing doesn't mean you're the same kind of being as me. To put it more accurately, Kazuki, you yourself are a creation of wishing. Naturally, that makes you… my child, who symbolizes wishes~!"

"That's impossible!" Kazuki's tone suddenly turned sharp, startling the blonde girl into hugging her head with both hands.

"I was born to my parents. That is an absolute fact. A creation of wishes… I won't believe it!"

"Ugh~ But the fact that your partner evolved like that is proof that the power of wishing activated…"

"What did you say?!"

Kazuki's emotions slipped, and he shouted, but seeing the little girl on the verge of tears, he realized he was being too harsh. Softening his tone, he asked, "So you're saying Hei turning into that form was because of your power?"

"I don't know…"

"You... don't know?" Kazuki was slightly taken aback. The blonde girl fiddled with her fingers, looking puzzled about this matter herself.

"Turning Pokémon into humanoid forms… that was probably your wish, right? If it were completely up to me to grant it, the humanoid forms wouldn't retain so many beast-like traits."

"And granting a wish isn't so simple. It consumes a massive amount of my power. Once I grant a wish, I need to sleep for a thousand years to recharge… But as far as I remember, the last time I woke up wasn't too long ago—probably only ten or twenty years. There's no way I have enough energy stored up to grant a wish."

Breaking free from Kazuki's grip, her feet touched the ground once more. She shook her legs and, with a serious face, continued speaking: "Actually, it's the opposite. After your wish came true, my power increased a lot. While I haven't fully awakened, I was able to use this connection to pull you here to meet me. Oh, by the way, my real body is still sleeping inside that white, round stone you picked up earlier~."

In a flash, it all made sense. No wonder ever since he found that white round stone, strange things had been happening to him.

"That's probably a special trait unique to you, Kazuki. But as of now, you can't draw it out on your own. My presence acts as a medium for it to activate properly…"

For some reason, the girl's voice began to fade. No—it wasn't just her voice. The star-filled path in Kazuki's vision was also starting to vanish.

"It seems our time is up. We'll have to leave it here for now…" The blonde little girl's face became blurry, and she waved her hand, as if bidding him farewell.

"I am… Jirachi... Make sure… you remember…"

Kazuki's figure completely disappeared from that strange world, leaving no trace behind, as if he had never been there. Jirachi smiled as she gazed at the empty space. In the boundless void, she was now all alone.

Kazuki… continue building new bonds~ One day, we'll meet again in the real world… We definitely will.

---

Sunlight streamed through the window, bright and warm, as Kazuki opened his eyes.

The morning light filtered through the glass, and the chirping of Pidgey perched on tree branches outside played the first melody of the day.

The vivid memories of what had just occurred rushed into his mind.

Those dreamlike scenes made Kazuki wonder for a moment whether it had all been a dream.

But if it was a dream, it was far too real.

Ugh… Something felt heavy on his chest.

His arms and legs were completely immobilized, too…

Kazuki struggled to crane his head downward, and what he saw left him speechless.

A black-haired, beast-eared girl clung to him like a Stufful hugging a tree.

She rested her head on his chest, sleeping soundly, with a not-so-ladylike trail of drool staining his shirt.

"Hei…" Kazuki felt an overwhelming urge to cover his face with his hands, but alas, both arms were trapped under her weight.

Hei didn't respond.

She smacked her lips in her sleep, as if dreaming of something delicious.

"Hei," he said, raising his voice slightly. Still, there was no sign of her waking.

There was no other choice… Kazuki took a deep, lung-filling breath and, with all his might, shouted, "Hei, wake up!!!"

"Ahhhh!"

Startled, Hei leaped up from the bed like a startled Yamper, her ears twitching erratically as her crimson eyes darted around in alarm.

"Hei, get off me first," Kazuki said, his tone exasperated. Hei looked down, blinked, and obediently crawled out of the blanket.

"Ko-ko~!"

At the windowsill, a small silver Pokémon climbed up. The morning dew speckling her armor made it clear she had just returned from training. Her deep blue eyes glanced into the room, eyeing the boy and the other Pokémon inside.

When her gaze shifted to the drool-stained patch of Kazuki's shirt, and then to the confused, dazed expression of the humanoid "dumb dog" sitting nearby, Aron's eyes filled with disdain.

"Uh, I can explain… Ow!"

Kazuki's sentence was cut short by a sudden sharp pain at the top of his head, as if he'd been struck by a heavy object. Reflexively cradling his head with one hand, he caught the offending item in the other—it was a coarse, fist-sized rock.

"Where did this rock come from? It doesn't look like a piece of construction debris…" Kazuki muttered, rubbing the rapidly forming bump on his head as he inspected the stone. He glanced upward, but there was no damage to the ceiling above him. So how had this rock gotten here?

Wait… His gaze shifted back to the window. Aron stood proudly, her iron forepaws rubbing against each other.

"Did you… learn Rock Slide?" Kazuki's voice tinged with excitement as he rushed over to the window and grabbed Aron's forepaws.

"Ko-ko!"

"This idiot!" Aron yelped, suspended mid-air as Kazuki held her up in triumph.

Hei, now back in her wolf-like Mightyena form, walked over with a wagging tail, rubbing her head affectionately against Kazuki's side.

"Ee-ee!" On the carpet, Eevee stretched lazily after a night of sleep. Watching Kazuki interact with his team, she couldn't help but smile as the cheerful atmosphere infected her as well.

Aron's silver armor gleamed dazzlingly under the sunlight. Gazing into her deep blue eyes, which seemed to encompass the sky itself, Kazuki felt something stir—an ambition towering like the heavens.

"Aron, is that your wish?" he thought to himself.

Speaking with Jirachi in that dream had raised many questions about his origins, but at the same time, it had cleared his uncertainties.

Yes, a wish.

His desire for a peaceful life, his hope that Hei, Aron, and Eevee would never be harmed—all of this was merely an extension of his wish.

To forge bonds so strong that they would endure beyond eternity, even transcending death… That wish had already been fulfilled the moment they met.

Meeting them was, in itself, a miracle, wasn't it?

"I've made up my mind, Aron," Kazuki said, smiling. "I'll make sure Hei can stay by my side forever. I'll help Eevee become a knight who can protect everyone. And I will… stand at the very top alongside you."

The sunlight outlined his figure with such clarity that it seemed to foretell a future filled with absolute certainty.

Aron, stunned for a moment, felt a weightless liberation from the invisible chains she'd carried since deciding to follow him just days ago.

This man… He was the most foolish, the most greedy, the most arrogant human she had ever met. But precisely because of that…

With both eyes fixed entirely on Kazuki's figure, a faint smile curved beneath her metallic helmet.

This was the man she had chosen, after all. ( awww )

"Although I truly appreciate Daisy's generosity, after a night of consideration, I've decided to decline this request."

Seated in the reception hall, with Eevee and Aron perched on his shoulders and Mightyena lying loyally at his side, Kazuki informed the Cerulean sisters of his decision.

"Why? Didn't my sister offer generous terms?" Violet blurted out.

"Violet!" Daisy scolded, stopping her sister's impolite outburst. Her turquoise eyes studied Kazuki with curiosity. Though she wasn't entirely surprised by the decision, she still wanted to know his reasoning.

"My journey with my partners is far from over," Kazuki explained confidently.

"We won't stop here. Thank you again for your hospitality. I hope we'll meet again someday."

He rose to his feet and gave Daisy a deep bow. When he raised his head again, it was clear to everyone present that they wouldn't be able to keep him, no matter what they said.

As the grand doors of Cerulean Gym opened, they sent Kazuki off toward the endless road ahead. Daisy looked up at the ceiling, where soft, soothing lights dotted the room like an aquarium.

Misty… you've also gone to the sea, haven't you?
