Witnessing the process start all over again was different than before now that I had experienced it myself, so as I watched the Demoness slice open her palms to start the ritual to improve her bloodline I couldn't help but pester my now awake System.

'How long does this take..? It doesn't seem to be too long, but when it was happening it felt like forever and a half...'

[Approximately two minutes for the ritual that Anput underwent, and around three minutes for yourself. The difference there is the... 'purity' of the blood that was used at the start. Hers was far purer than yours, so you underwent a sweeping purification alongside the upgrade.]

'So that was why it was so painful... but then what about someone like Jahi? Is her blood considered pure or no? She has Elven blood but also Demon blood, so which..?'

Watching as the blue skinned stud flexed her muscles again - not to impress but instead to push down the pain - while gritting her teeth, I had an answer of sorts right there, but I wanted the far more knowledgeable and smarter System to feed the information to me instead.

Maybe I could learn something about this process that would allow me to work with Leone to reverse engineer this array for future use, or maybe we could create something else that would do something similar...

[Yes and no. Her Demon blood is the predominant blood in her veins while her Elven blood is merely an... amplifier. She... is primarily a Demoness with all of the traits that comes with - enhanced physical traits and an almost supernatural talent for anything related to combat - but with the added bonus of having some of the Elven magical talent as well.

They are thoroughly mixed together as of now to create her; that's how genetics works, right? Mixing everything from parent one with parent two to create a new living being. With you the predominant blood is... all encompassing.

You were JUST a Dogkin. The Fae blood deep inside of your ancestry was dormant for good. Jahi is primarily a Demoness but also PART Elf. That is because her blood allows for mixing if the traits are deemed 'good' and beneficial for survival. A bit pervasive since it 'eats' that bloodline and adds it to itself to create a better Demoness. Does that make sense?]

'I feel like you might have just summed that up with 'Jahi is 99% Demoness and 1% Elf so it doesn't matter', but thank you for that. It's interesting, and I would love to pursue this topic later...'

It didn't have an expression but I could feel the exasperated eye roll that the System was giving me as well as the slight irritation of me brushing the explanation to the side for now, but it was hard to focus as I watched what was in front of me.

Seeing every single rune activating on her body as she slowly completed the mana circulation was intriguing because it was accompanied by her already vibrant and unique skin tone becoming something... more.

Jahi had always been a shade or so lighter than her Mom, but now her royal blue skin was darkening to match her Mom before going even darker, switching from that rich sapphire to a shade of purplish blue that seemed akin to the depths of the ocean.

The more shocking appearance was of the golden veins that began to snake up from her fingers towards her elbows, creating a web of gold on her arms that pulsed with power and radiated a slight shine.

When everything reached her torso I expected another set of drastic changes, but instead it seemed to slow down, maintaining only the skin tone shift and the improvements to her musculature, which bulked her up just a little bit more compared to where she had been at moments ago.

That was something I was certain everyone else in the world would be slightly angered about since it would have taken them months, if not years to achieve that same level of bulking, but alas my wife was simply better...

The drastic changes returned immediately upon reaching her head, where the alterations were extremely visible right away; the first thing to be affected was seemingly her mouth, since the Demoness had to wrench her jaw apart before hissing softly.

Extending her now purple and more pointed tongue, the Demoness didn't seem to be aware of it as she just curled her lips in pain, revealing the tapered points of all her teeth as she took on a far more feral, dangerous and predatory look.

Her ears also sharpened out even more, resembling her Mother's almost to a tee as they lengthened like a proper Elf, though that was immediately overshadowed by the cracking of her horns as they began to shift around as well.

It made me wince upon hearing it, only for my hairs to all stand on end as she let out a cry of agony as they twisted and grew more and more, the keratin sheath that covered the bony protrusion from the skull becoming gilded with gold.

Where they had once been just a simple, single curve from the top of her brow down towards the back of her jaw they now were jutting upwards like tusks, getting closer to completing a full circle while also flaring outwards slightly, away from her face.

And then - as had become signature with this array - the edges of her bangs began to change from midnight black to vibrant and glittering gold, framing her darker face and giving her a look no one would ever forget.

When she opened her eyes that was made doubly true since her once pure amethyst eyes were now speckled with golden flakes, each one shimmering and shifting around like they were floating above her iris and not apart of it.

"Gods be damned... that hurt like hell..."

Her hiss brought me out of my anxious reverie, and as she sat up straight and began to crack every single joint in her body the Demoness added "But damn does it feel good... Hey Mom! Lady Fenyras! Let's spar, yeah~? Definitely need a reality check quick before this feeling makes me stupid!"

She was still jovial, still her typical self, but of the three of us she had the most drastic change; she was far darker than before, her horns were thicker and more defined, her teeth were like a sharks, and as she stood up she had definitely gotten a few inches taller too, so...

Compared to the simple changes Anput and I had - besides my nifty and barely explained sigil thing - Jahi had gotten a far more 'complete' improvement to what she was, though now it made me wonder what her 'internal' improvements were if this was what we could see...
