Haru believed that the arrogance and self-importance of the Uchiha clan were largely due to their genetics.

As long as one parent was from the Uchiha clan, their child would inherit the powerful kekkei genkai of the Sharingan.

In contrast, the Senju clan's genetics weren't as dominant. Aside from Hashirama Senju, no one else had awakened the Wood Release kekkei genkai.

The Uchiha, however, were the opposite their genetics were simply too strong.

"That's why Shisui failed. He was a pawn, not a player. He might have been able to make a brilliant move with his own will, but he couldn't control the entire game."

Itachi stared at Haru, his mind flashing back to the moment of Shisui's suicide and the smile he had given when entrusting everything to Itachi.

If possible, Itachi also wanted to protect his clan, his family, and his younger brother, Sasuke.

Haru raised his hand and placed it on Itachi's shoulder.

"In three days, I will accompany the Third Hokage to the Land of Iron as his guard for a meeting with the Raikage. Who do you think will be in charge of the village during that time?"

Haru's voice was firm.

In truth, this wasn't just about helping Itachi assassinate Danzo.

The reason for leaving a shadow clone was for insurance.
