My Wife Turns Out to be an Empress of the Dynasty

Chapter 918: Kill Again

The sword shadows that Gu Lan conjured swept down, instantly shattering the incoming attacks. These attacks didn't harm Gu Lan at all, but what he hadn't expected was that his strike didn't injure the Wizard Clan members either.

While his power was certainly formidable, it was still insufficient to deal with them, and they easily dodged. As they got closer, Gu Lan felt something was wrong. The ones he had faced earlier shared the same aura as these few.

"Could it be?"

Gu Lan didn't finish his sentence as his eyes locked onto the group of over twenty Wizard Gods. Just as he suspected, these individuals were as pale as death, with lifeless eyes.

"If that's the case, I'll need to be careful," Gu Lan thought. These enemies weren't easily dealt with—they showed no fear of regular attacks.

"Interesting, let's see what you've got," Gu Lan muttered to himself. While these opponents were troublesome, Gu Lan had no intention of backing down.

He took a step forward, and a powerful surge of soul energy erupted from within him. Although he hadn't fully mastered it yet, it was enough for the time being. Gu Lan was also curious about this soul power. He had absorbed a lot of it, but hadn't truly tested it before. Even when sealing Wan Hun, he had only used his own true energy and the Great Path Qi.

Flames flickered around the Hongmeng Sword, lighting up the sky. The energy Gu Lan was drawing upon was indeed terrifying, but these enemies didn't retreat an inch. Instead, they pressed forward.

Mo Xuan stood coldly at a distance, his eyes flashing with endless murderous intent.

"Kill!"

Mo Xuan's icy command sent the Wizard Clan fighters charging forward again. Gu Lan had expected them to act like the previous opponents, so he didn't take them seriously. Firelight erupted in an instant, but this time, Gu Lan made a miscalculation.

Not only did the Wizard Clan members dodge, but they also appeared behind him one by one. One of them unleashed over a hundred blood-red beams, let alone the others.

Nearly a thousand blood-colored rays shot toward Gu Lan, all aimed at vital points. Despite these enemies having no life force left, their attacks were swift and decisive. Moreover, they retained their combat experience from life, making it difficult for Gu Lan to handle.

One or two could be dealt with quickly, but these people were fearless of the sword lights Gu Lan summoned. Unless he could shatter them with a single strike, they would keep attacking.

In the Lava Clan's Hall

Chi Yang's face broke into a cold smile as several powerful figures stood behind him. As his subordinate spoke, Chi Yang's smile grew wider.

"Since that's the case, how could I be left out?"

Chi Yang stood up, gathering a dense wave of true energy around him. He walked out of the hall, where a hundred strong fighters had already gathered.

The reason he hadn't attacked the Jing Nation palace sooner was that he was preparing for this moment.

"Everyone, follow me to solve this problem," he commanded.

With a single word from Chi Yang, the Lava Clan's warriors gathered their energy and surged forward. Chi Yang led the way, jumping into the air with the hundred fighters following closely behind him. His hatred for Gu Lan was immeasurable, and he had only one goal: to kill Gu Lan, leaving no survivors. Once Gu Lan was dead, his plans could finally proceed.

---

A few tens of thousands of feet away from the Great General's Palace

Gu Lan was swinging his sword continuously, a layer of powerful true energy surging around him. He had to admit, these enemies were indeed tough. After such a long time, he had only managed to deal with one or two of them.

While they couldn't hurt him, the constant attacks were draining his energy. What worried him most was that these weren't all the enemies. He had noticed that, out of everyone, only Mo Xuan still retained his consciousness.

"If that's the case, I need to be careful," Gu Lan thought. After all, Mo Xuan's methods were not to be underestimated, and there was a real possibility he could lose his life if he wasn't cautious.

"You still haven't made a move!" Gu Lan growled. The Hongmeng Sword trembled in his hand.

No matter what, he had to force Mo Xuan to take action. If Mo Xuan refused to make a move, Gu Lan would be facing much more trouble.

Mo Xuan simply sneered, not moving a step, still wearing a disdainful smile.

"You want me to act? Well, let's see if you have the strength to make that happen. First, deal with them," Mo Xuan waved his hand lightly, and the remaining Wizard Clan warriors surged forward again.

This time, Mo Xuan didn't take the same risks as before—he wouldn't be so foolish as to fall into Gu Lan's hands again.

Gu Lan's face darkened upon seeing these relentless enemies. "You brought this on yourselves."

With a loud roar, he charged forward, swinging his sword with precision, each strike aimed at vital points. The sound of tearing filled the air, and the sky grew dark in an instant.

---

A few breaths later

The sky was covered in blood-red light, and the stench of blood filled the air. Gu Lan had already claimed the lives of four or five enemies.

He didn't hesitate, continuing to advance with the Hongmeng Sword aimed at Mo Xuan.

If Mo Xuan didn't want to act, Gu Lan would make him. He didn't believe this man would simply wait forever.

As Gu Lan approached, Mo Xuan's eyes flashed with cold light. Without hesitation, he retreated quickly to a distance of ten thousand feet.

Gu Lan had expected a battle to the death, but Mo Xuan didn't play by those rules. Instead, he pulled back.

"The young Lord of the Wizard Clan only has this much strength? Is all you can do is retreat and avoid fighting?" Gu Lan taunted, but his words didn't seem to have any effect.

Mo Xuan's expression remained dark, unmoved by Gu Lan's mockery.

Gu Lan couldn't help but grow angry. This wasn't the Mo Xuan he had fought before. Had dying once taught him a lesson?

"If you like to retreat, let's see how long you can keep running."

Gu Lan wasn't planning to give Mo Xuan any leniency. He charged forward, his sword blazing with power. The sound of tearing grew louder as Gu Lan unleashed a flood of sword light.

Mo Xuan might be fast, but he couldn't possibly block this kind of power.

In an instant, Mo Xuan was engulfed in the sword light. His body was covered in bloodstains, but after a few breaths, Gu Lan was stunned to see that Mo Xuan walked out of the sword light unharmed.

Gu Lan's eyes widened, and his expression darkened significantly.

At this moment, Mo Xuan's aura had changed drastically. His gaze locked onto Gu Lan with murderous intent, and a blood-red blade appeared in his hand.

"I will kill you!" Mo Xuan growled.

Seeing the murderous expression on Mo Xuan's face, Gu Lan couldn't help but laugh mockingly.

"Just you?"

Mo Xuan's aura was indeed strange now, but it was still far from enough to harm Gu Lan.

With a heavy stomp, Gu Lan revealed the Great Path Qi. There was no need to hide it anymore—he needed to end this quickly.

Gu Lan hadn't fully mastered the Great Path Qi yet, but it was more than enough to handle the enemies in front of him.

Not only that, Gu Lan unleashed his soul power once more.

"I'll make you die again within three moves," Gu Lan said coldly.

After having killed Mo Xuan once, he wasn't about to show any mercy this time.

A sharp whistle echoed through the air as the sound of his sword rang out, resonating across the battlefield.
