My Wives Of Simulation

Chapter 68: My Wives Of Simulation [68]

Chapter 68: Kasumigaoka Utaha Recommends Herself

____

Seeing that the situation had escalated enough, Morgan finally decided to step in, feeling a twinge of pity for Mellie.

Morgan: "Alright, enough teasing. While Mellie is usually unreliable, she's genuinely exceptional when it comes to kendo. There's no one in all of Britain who can match her."

Artoria: "Yes, my kendo skills were taught by Teacher Mellie. Even though her personality is often... questionable, she is undeniably skilled at kendo."

As Artoria spoke, she recalled the ridiculous antics Mellie had pulled during her kendo lessons. Still, she hesitated to add, "But be careful—she might not teach you properly."

Yukino: "A kendo master? That's amazing! I can ask you some questions about kendo!"

Just as Yukino's excitement grew, Utaha cut in sharply.

Utaha: "Pay attention to the group rules. We're not allowed to disclose the chat group to outsiders."

Yukino: "...Oh, right."

Realizing her mistake, Yukino's enthusiasm deflated. She wasn't a kendo prodigy, nor was she particularly skilled in sports—her abilities were average at best. Even if Mellie taught her, she doubted she'd make any progress. What was the point of asking?

Moreover, her sister, Haruno, didn't seem to have any talent for kendo either. The thought of being unable to mention Mellie's guidance to anyone outside the group left Yukino feeling conflicted.

Utaha: "Yukinoshita, I have a question for you."

Yukino: "Go ahead."

As Yukino scrolled through the chat logs, noting the previous conversations between Kaguya, Utaha, Natsuki, and others, she couldn't help but marvel at how small the world seemed.

She was already aware of Utaha's existence. After all, they both attended the same high school as Elric. Both were considered top-tier beauties, but their relationship had always been distant. Ironically, they only became aware of each other because of a certain man.

Yukino tightened her grip on her cup, unsure of what Utaha wanted to ask.

Utaha: "Your student council is discussing who will represent you in the Kendo Tournament, right?"

While chatting in the group, Utaha casually searched online for details about the Kendo Tournament. It didn't take long for her to find the information she needed.

Suddenly, an idea struck her. She remembered that Elric was also in the student council. As his follower, wasn't it her duty to protect her god from the advances of other women?

Utaha: "I may not be an expert in kendo, but I'm confident in my physical abilities. Perhaps I could give it a try?"

As a follower of Elric, Utaha's physical attributes had been enhanced when she first received her role as recorder. Even though her stats were all ranked at E, this was still ten times greater than the physical fitness of an average person.

Although she hadn't deepened her connection with Elric like Sora, which could have allowed her to grow further, her current capabilities made her a prodigy in the eyes of ordinary people. With her enhanced physique, Utaha was confident she could hold her own in the tournament.

Yukino: "You? Physical fitness?"

Hearing Utaha declare her intention to participate, Yukino was skeptical. However, she didn't outright dismiss the claim. After all, they'd been classmates for three years, and while Utaha didn't seem particularly athletic, Yukino also knew the other girl wasn't one to boast without reason.

Perhaps Yukino wasn't thrilled about the childhood friend bond between Utaha and Elric, but she couldn't deny that Utaha was a formidable rival. In terms of appearance, figure, and academic performance, Utaha was every bit her equal.

When Utaha declared her interest in trying out for the kendo competition, Yukino shared the location of the student council classroom in the chat group and invited her to come by and take a look.

At the same time, Yukino stood up, interrupting the ongoing discussion among the girls.

"I have a... friend who said she wants to try out. Would that be okay?"

Inside the Student Council's Equipment Room

The equipment room, part of the exclusive facilities for the student council, was enormous—spanning the size of four basketball courts. Unlike ordinary clubs, the student council at Toyogasaki University managed over 5 billion yen in funds and wielded significant authority. They even had their own teaching and dormitory buildings.

The room was filled with all kinds of sports equipment and supplies. Yet, the most striking presence was the group of exceptionally beautiful girls gathered there.

Some had a cold, snow-lotus-like beauty, others radiated warmth like the sun. Among them were girls with maid-like meticulousness, and others with blonde hair and blue eyes that gave off a distinctly foreign elegance.

Each of them was a rare beauty who could easily captivate the attention of an entire school. Yet here, in this room, there were nine such girls— Haruno and eight others, now joined by Utaha.

"Kasumigaoka-san, long time no see," Haruno greeted with a smile.

Upon learning that the "friend" Yukino mentioned was Utaha, Haruno had brought everyone to the equipment room. The space was far better suited for athletic activities than a standard classroom.

As Haruno watched Utaha enter, she recalled having seen her twice before—both times in the company of Elric. However, beyond those encounters, they hadn't interacted much, except for the recent chats in the group.

At the beginning of the school year, Haruno had considered inviting Utaha to join the student council. After all, Utaha was a talented girl with outstanding looks and grades. Her writing ability, in particular, was highly regarded at her former high school.

Yet for some reason, Haruno had ultimately decided against it. Now, seeing Utaha here again, she found it quite surprising that her sister's "friend" turned out to be her.

"Senior Yukinoshita."

Utaha nodded politely to Haruno, scanning the room to note the many familiar faces among the freshmen.

She recognized the Yukinoshita sisters, Haruno and Yukino, as well as Shinomiya Kaguya and Hayasaka Ai, whom she'd met earlier that morning. Kasumigaoka still regarded Kaguya and Hayasaka as rivals she'd outclassed. Then there was Fujiwara Chika, someone she knew from high school.

The only unfamiliar faces were Horikita Suzune and Kashiwazaki Sena. Though she hadn't met them before, she'd certainly heard their names.

---

As her gaze moved across the room, Utaha suddenly spotted a figure she hadn't seen in years—someone she knew from junior high.

"Suou-san, I haven't seen you in a while," Utaha greeted, her tone sharp yet cordial.

The girl in question, Yuki, turned to face her with a faint smile.

"Kasumigaoka-san, it's been a while. Do you still like curry?"

Their gazes locked, and a subtle tension filled the room. Sparks seemed to fly as the two exchanged words. The atmosphere between Utaha and Yuki clearly suggested that something wasn't quite right.
