His mother's return filled the house with a lively atmosphere, unlike the quiet it had been before. Even Bugs Bunny, who had been obsessed with growing grass lately, became cheerful, running to his mother to show off his magic tricks whenever he had the chance.

The only minor issue arose with Bugs Bunny's bath. While bathing him, his mother, Isabel, curiously wanted to see if Bugs Bunny was a male or female rabbit. The once gray lop-eared rabbit visibly changed color and darted away from Isabel's grasp like lightning.

Covered in foam and water, he jumped onto Leyton's shoulder, burying his head in Leyton's jacket.

"Did you really have to react so strongly?" Leyton asked, somewhat stunned by the scene.

Feeling uncomfortable with the wet Bugs Bunny on his neck, Leyton reached out to remove him, but Bugs Bunny clung tightly to Leyton's jacket, refusing to let go.

In the end, Leyton had to ask his mother to leave and bathe Bugs Bunny himself.

"You've gotten used to baths, so why are you suddenly shy?" Leyton asked curiously.

Only when he saw his mother leave did Bugs Bunny agree to get off Leyton.

"I'm a boy!! How could she... how could she just spread my legs open to look!" Bugs Bunny said, his voice filled with shame and indignation.

"But you're a rabbit!" Leyton couldn't help but retort.

"What about rabbits? Even rabbits can't be treated like that!" Bugs Bunny retorted loudly.

"Keep it down, do you want everyone to know you can talk?" Leyton quickly covered Bugs Bunny's mouth.

In the end, Leyton bathed the bashful rabbit. After the bath, Bugs Bunny avoided Isabel whenever he saw her, as opposed to how affectionate he was before.

To make amends, my mother even offered Bugs Bunny his favorite fruit, but he stubbornly refused it.

Then, my mother took out a small cloak she had modified. Bugs Bunny instantly caved, immediately putting it on and jumping around in front of my mother, showing off. The shift from resistance to surrender took less than a minute.

Leyton watched from the side, wanting to cover his face. What a hopeless rabbit.

That night, after everyone was asleep, Leyton sat alone on the windowsill, watching the streets illuminated by the crimson moon. It was very quiet outside; almost no one was out walking at this hour.

"Uwa~ Boss, why aren't you asleep yet?" Bugs Bunny, wearing his new cloak, tiptoed to Leyton's side.

Bugs Bunny wanted to climb onto the windowsill, but couldn't reach it, hopping up and down. Leyton chuckled before pulling the bouncing rabbit onto the windowsill.

"I've felt uneasy since we came back this afternoon," Leyton said, looking out at the streets.

"This might be a warning from my spiritual intuition, but I have no clue what it is," Leyton muttered, not caring whether Bugs Bunny understood.

"Is it because you saw that weirdo in the cowboy hat when we came back?" Bugs Bunny asked, puzzled.

"Hmm?" Leyton pondered for a moment before slowly nodding. "Possibly."

The more Leyton thought about it, the more likely it seemed that it was because of the figure he saw that afternoon. Perhaps Bugs Bunny's gaze had been too blatant, causing the other person to have some kind of idea, leading them to do something that triggered his spiritual warning?

"Bang!" A loud gunshot rang out from the street in the distance.

"Hmm?" Leyton looked in the direction of the sound, but the rows of houses blocked his view, and he couldn't see anything.

"Boss, someone's fighting!" Bugs Bunny said excitedly.

"Someone's fighting, and you're excited? Do you want to go join in?" Leyton flicked the rabbit's head.

"Aren't we going to go check it out?" Bugs Bunny asked, rubbing his head.

"The gunshot was so loud, everyone around here is alarmed. The security bureau will be there soon. What's there to see? Besides, my mother will be worried and come to check on me soon." As soon as Leyton finished speaking, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

"Go open the door," Leyton told Bugs Bunny.

Bugs Bunny jumped off the windowsill and hopped to the door, pushing a chair to the door, then jumping onto the chair and turning the doorknob.

Mother Isabel entered the room and saw Leyton leaning against the windowsill and Bugs Bunny pushing the chair back to its original position.

"Little Leyton isn't asleep yet! Don't be too lazy and make the little rabbit do everything!" Isabel walked to the window.

"Uwa~" Bugs Bunny began to act cute and innocent in front of his mother again.

He looked pitifully at the windowsill and then pretended to jump twice.

Leyton twitched his lips, grabbed the drama queen rabbit, and placed him on the windowsill.

"Did you hear the gunshot just now? Madan has been a little unstable lately. When you go out, don't go to secluded places, understand? Be wary of strangers too," Isabel constantly reminded Leyton of various precautions when going out.

Leyton paused the hand rubbing the rabbit's head, then casually nodded, humoring his mother while complaining inwardly.

"Is this maternal nagging the same all over the world, even in other worlds?"

"Don't stay out too late these days. Oh, and in less than half a month, it'll be New Year's. How long will you have off?" Isabel finally asked before stopping her nagging.

"I'm not sure, I'll ask tomorrow. Probably a week or two, maybe?" Leyton said uncertainly.

"Well, if it's long enough, our family can go on vacation to the coast. The climate there is warmer than Madan's," Isabel planned for the New Year.

"Yeah! But I think Dad might not want to travel back to the coast right after getting back," Leyton reminded his mother. His father had been at sea for a long time and might prefer to stay home.

"That's true. We'll discuss it again when your father comes back in a few days," Isabel said with a nod.

"Mother, you should go rest. The gunshot just now alarmed everyone in the neighborhood, and the security bureau should be on their way. There probably won't be any more incidents here," Leyton said, seeing that his mother wanted to continue chatting with him.

The main purpose of his mother coming to his room to talk about these topics at this time was actually to worry that he would be startled by the gunshot and be afraid.

Upon hearing this, Isabel took a deep look at Leyton, who was pretending to be calm, wondering if he had done something wrong.

"My little Leyton has grown up and is no longer the child who needs his mother's protection!" Mother Isabel smiled with a lot of emotion.

"People always grow up. I'm not a kid anymore!" Leyton said proudly.

"But you'll always be a child in your mother's eyes," Isabel said with a smile.

"Okay! But now the child needs to sleep, and his mother needs to sleep too," Leyton said with a helpless smile.
