...

For the time being, Graham did not go looking for his 'maid', Felt. Instead, he wandered around aimlessly.

He really wanted to meet the silver haired half-elf and see if she bore any resemblance to the dark figure he had encountered before.

As he passed by a small alley, he smiled.

Inside, a guy in a tracksuit was being surrounded and beaten by three thugs.

Graham called out to them, "Yo, what are you guys doing?"

The white-haired thug who was in the middle of beating the guy flinched. When he saw Graham dressed in ordinary clothes, his expression turned cold.

"None of your business! I suggest you stay out of this!"

The thug pulled out a dagger to intimidate him, glaring fiercely and even kicking the unlucky guy on the ground for good measure.

"Oops~! Sorry, but I really don't like being threatened. You said I mustn't interfere, right? Then, I'll interfere even more!"

Graham calmly looked at him, slowly raising his hand. A green light blossomed in his palm, transforming into several wind blades that shot toward the trio of thugs!

*Snap~!*

With a crisp sound, the dagger in the thug's hand was cleanly cut in half. At the same time, their clothes, faces, and arms were instantly covered in cuts of varying sizes.

The white-haired thug trembled, his legs shaking uncontrollably, "Ah—! Y-you're a mage!"

"And? If you don't leave now, next time it won't be the dagger that gets cut~" Graham casually tossed out this remark with an indifferent expression.

"You... just you wait!"

After hurling a threat, the white-haired thug quickly grabbed his companions and fled, terrified that Graham might chase them down or send another wind blade their way.

Graham then tried talking to the beat up guy, "Hey, are you okay-"

"Ahhhhhhh! Why is it you?!" Subaru interrupted in irritation.

"Do you know me?" Graham was stunned. What the hell? Had this guy seen him before?

"No! But why did you save me this time? Shouldn't it have been Satella? The silver haired half-elf! Why is it someone like you?"

"..."

After a moment of silence, Graham gave the guy a disdainful look and couldn't help but mock, "First of all, I'm your savior. Not only are you not grateful or thanking me, but you're also shamelessly saying such things. Good thing I have no grudge against the Witch Cult, or you'd have already paid the price for your arrogance."

'Satella' was the name of the Witch of Envy, a taboo in this world. It seemed that Natsuki Subaru was currently in his second loop after dying once.

The silver haired half-elf, out of self-protection and wariness toward strangers, had told Subaru her name was 'Satella', so now this guy thought she really was Satella...

After hearing Graham's words and comparing their combat abilities, Subaru finally snapped back to reality and said in a haughty tone, "Well, thank you! I'm Natsuki Subaru, and as you can see, I'm broke!"

"Don't mention it. I see no gratitude in your eyes, so let's part ways here," Graham turned and walked away.

This guy was really something... broke, yet so arrogant, not realizing that his words only made people look down on him.

Moreover, if Graham's guess was correct, Subaru had probably let himself get beaten up by the thugs on purpose.

He was waiting for the silver haired half-elf to rescue him, hoping for a romantic encounter.

"Wait, Aniki! do you know a girl named 'Satella'?" {T/N: By the way, 'Aniki' is an informal Japanese term that means "brother" or "big bro". It can also be used to refer to higher-ranking members of a gang...

So here, Subaru shouted, "Big bro!", but I like the Japanese version better...}

Subaru, unwilling to let go of someone who might know something, asked eagerly. From Graham's earlier tone, he could tell this person knew something about Satella.

"I do, but why should I tell you?" Graham rolled his eyes.

As a transmigrator who had already died once, Subaru still couldn't figure out his place. To quote a certain Archbishop of Sin, "How truly slothful!"

Hearing this, Subaru was dumbfounded...

He clearly hadn't expected the person who had just saved him to suddenly become so cold. In other words, he still thought of himself as the absolute protagonist of the world, with everyone who helped him being his supposed underlings!

"Please! Aniki! Tell me! This is really important to me! I... I have to save her!"

Realizing that the opportunity for a heroic rescue could only belong to him, Subaru gave this vague reason.

In response, Graham looked at this fierce-eyed rookie and calmly said, "Fine, I'll tell you. 'Satella' has been dead for a long time. She hasn't been seen for hundreds of years."

With that, he shrugged and walked away, ignoring Subaru's stunned expression.

The Witch of Envy, Satella, had been sealed away 400 years ago by the Dragon God, the Sage, and the Sword Saint. Saying she was dead wasn't entirely wrong.

After all, ordinary people couldn't meet her anyway.

"No way! You must be lying!" Subaru quickly denied.

He had just met "Satella" not long ago. How could she be dead?

Realizing he had been tricked, Subaru secretly labeled Graham as unfriendly, an enemy, and even a rival in love!

Then, he turned and ran out of the alley, searching for the silver haired beauty, Satella...
