As Naruto regained consciousness, Boruto found himself deep within a cave, dozens of kilometers away from Konoha Village.

[Uzumaki Boruto: Wait a minute... this is what I looked like when I was twelve? Why can't I remember this at all?]

[Kushina: Is that really what Boruto looked like as a child? Oh, he's so adorable!]

[Uzumaki Boruto: Alright, grandma, could you please stop pinching my cheeks?]

[Uzumaki Kushina: I just can't help it! I finally have grandchildren to spoil!]

[Namikaze Minato: Hahaha! Great job, Boruto. Your hard work is appreciated!]

Suddenly, an unfamiliar figure stepped into the light. "Who are you?" asked Teguse, adjusting his glasses, his voice tinged with panic. It was shocking for him to see someone breach the organization's defenses.

Despite Teguse's talent for developing powerful scientific ninja tools, he knew well that in a direct fight, he wouldn't stand a chance against even a Genin without those gadgets.

Before Boruto could answer, a confident voice interjected, "He's the ninja who bravely confronted the Otsutsuki invasion. He's also the son of the Seventh Hokage."

As the voice rang out, a man with a bandaged head stepped forward, identifying himself to Boruto.

"Oh, so you actually know who I am," Boruto replied, a hint of surprise in his tone.

"I did my homework on you," Merz admitted coolly. "Once my plan is in motion, I intend to eradicate all Kage and their families. If I've offended you in any way, I sincerely apologize."

Boruto shrugged, a smirk crossing his face. "You're wasting your time. Your plans won't amount to anything."

Merz chuckled, spreading his arms wide. "Haha! Regardless, welcome to our Zero base."

"So, you're the infamous Merz?"

"That's correct! I will lead 'Zero' and the entire ninja world. Soon, I will surpass Pain and ascend to true god!" His pride swelled with every boastful statement, eyes gleaming with ambition.

[Konan: You seriously want to become a god? How naïve.]

[Nagato: Merz, what twisted path led you from a devoted child of the Rain Village to this delusion?]

In the scene, Boruto simply scoffed. "Oh, what a grand dream you've got there."

"It seems the child doesn't quite get it. But you didn't come here just to listen to me ramble," Merz retorted nonchalantly.

Boruto nodded firmly. "You're right. I'm here to rescue my friends and to dismantle your organization... and to save Nanashi, who's become entangled in your pathetic ambitions."

Merz's smile turned inscrutable upon hearing Boruto's motivations. "Interesting... so what do you think about that?"

Just then, a black-haired female ninja leapt into view, approaching Boruto steadily.

"Nanashi!" Boruto exclaimed, stepping forward with excitement. "I'm here because i want to talk to you!"

But Nanashi's response was ice-cold. "What are you doing here? I already told you—there's nothing to discuss!"

Boruto quickly interjected, "You may not want to talk, but I do!"

Despite the frostiness in her demeanor, Nanashi felt a flicker of something as she looked at him, sensing his sincerity. Deep down, she knew Boruto was genuine in his desire to help her.

Yet, the trauma of her past at the hands of ninjas burned through her thoughts, making her heart heavy. She had suffered intensely because of them—all of them, from the Uchiha Clan to every other ninja!

Disregarding her emotions, Nanashi suddenly produced a kunai, lunging toward Boruto. Reacting quickly, he drew his own kunai, blocking her attack.

Sparks flew as the blades clashed. "If you refuse to leave, then you'll die here!" Nanashi growled, suppressing her simmering anger.

Boruto remained resolute. "I won't go back without you!"

"You're so irritating…" she spat.

"Stop it, Nanashi! I don't want to fight you!"

"You're so persistent! Honestly..."

As the standoff continued, Nanashi found herself feeling regret. She enjoyed Boruto's presence, but her hatred loomed large, overshadowing any warmth she felt towards him.

"Get away from me!" she screamed, launching another attack. 

"How long will you remain loyal to Zero?"

"Until the ninja world is in ruins!"

"You genuinely desire to destroy the ninja world, huh? Or are you just comfortable in that rage?"

"Absolutely. Only with the destruction of the ninja world will my hatred finally vanish."

Boruto desperately pleaded with her while deflecting her relentless strikes, all the while witnessing her shadow clones attempt sneak attacks against her; many lay vanquished at her feet.

Boruto took a moment to flip back, creating distance. "I understand that you have a heavy heart, but—"

"You don't know my story! Stop pretending to understand me!" Nanashi interrupted, forming hand signs before unleashing a massive fireball, three meters wide.

Boruto swiftly countered, launching his Rasengan imbued with lightning. When it collided with the fireball, it detonated, obliterating Wuming's attack.

Taking a moment to breathe, Boruto continued, "I'm not being self-righteous; I'm aware of what you've endured. You were exploited, turned into a weapon, then sealed away. But destruction won't lead you to redemption."

Nanashi's Sharingan eyes blazed with fury as she cried out, "You make it sound so simple! What do you understand about my pain?"

"How could you possibly claim I don't understand? You've known me for just a few days, yet I'm here trying to save you!"

"You've no clue what it's like to live in darkness! The ghost of my past haunts me; the screams I heard will never fade. I was left alone without parents or allies..."

"Who led me down this path? Wasn't it all those ninjas? This current ninja world? So I'll eradicate them, destroy the very world they inhabit!"

Nanashi's passionate declaration left Boruto momentarily speechless. The force of her words seemed to hang in the air, affecting everyone watching.

[Senju Hashirama: What kind of experience could so deeply scar a young girl?]

[Uchiha Madara: Nanashi... Nanashi. I believe I saw in the old documents that the Uchiha clan once had a weapon called 'Nanashi' for a child.]

[Senju Tobirama: Hah! Just as I suspected, the Uchiha are indeed a wicked clan for using a little girl like that.]

[Uchiha Izuna: Don't slander my brother! We never engaged in such practices during our time!]

[Senju Tobirama: Maybe not, but who really knows the truth?]

[The Fourth Raikage: For the first time, I believe what the Second Hokage said is true: the Uchiha truly are malevolent.]

[All Raikage: Agreed.]
