Kakashi heard these words, the eyes behind his mask couldn't help but widen. 'No way, this old classmate wouldn't be so irrational, right?' Although he was already famous for being reckless back in school.

He had previously tasked Kakashi with monitoring and protecting Naruto. Kakashi shook his head and relayed everything that had just occurred to the Third Hokage.

The more the Third Hokage listened, the darker his face became, and in his anger, he threw the pipe in his mouth to the ground.

Hachiyo was shocked by Fugaku's response. Without any hesitation or consultation with the Hokage, the clan leader made the decision.

"According to our regulations, attempted murder would warrant at least five years, and destruction of village property with injuries would add another five."

"Altogether, ten years."

"Clan leader, are you certain about this?"

Hachiyo wasn't opposed to punishing Asuma severely, but Fugaku's decisiveness was unusual, prompting him to ask one last time.

Fugaku replied firmly, "No need to reconsider."

"Then it's settled: ten years of imprisonment."

Ten years seemed like a long time. By the time this young man was released, he'd practically be middle-aged.
