Chapter 20: Chapter 5: Bonds of Youth!

Yuto arrived at the training grounds, his mind swirling with frustration over the mission the system had given him: witnessing the Uchiha massacre. The idea gnawed at him. How could he possibly survive that? 'I'll be killed for sure. Obito, Itachi… even Root agents are lurking around. This is insane!' His thoughts raged. But then he decided. Until the massacre week, he would pour his frustration into training. It was his only outlet, his only way of preparing.

A short while later, Naruko appeared, full of energy as usual. She joined Yuto in his warm-up, but he could sense her usual spunk was dimmed by the tension between them. The mission weighed heavily on his mind, and despite her obliviousness, she could feel something was off.

Suddenly, the sound of someone approaching broke the silence, and both Yuto and Naruko turned to see Guy-sensei. But their jaws dropped at the sight before them—Guy-sensei was holding Hitomi Uchiha by the leg, grinning from ear to ear.

"This little lady of youth and passion here wants to join your training!" Guy announced proudly, with his teeth shining brightly.

Naruko stared in disbelief, before gaining a sly smile. "Why would a bossy princess like you wanna train with us, huh?" she teased. Naruko and Hitomi never got along in the academy, always butting heads, forcing Yuto to intervene. Yuto wondered why Ashura and Indra always fought, he could understand them fighting during their teens, but why are they fighting when they are not even ten year olds.

A brief flashback appeared for our readers. Hitomi had been spying on their training for a while, hidden behind a tree. Guy, in his usual enthusiastic way, had noticed her presence. When Hitomi had confronted him, asking who he was and why he was training these two, Guy had proudly introduced himself as the Green Beast of Konoha. Hitomi, frustrated by seeing Naruko and Yuto getting ahead of her, had demanded to join them. But, realizing what she'd signed up for, she'd tried to back out, only for Guy to happily drag her along.

The flashback ended as Guy placed an embarrassed Hitomi down. Naruko snickered. "What's the matter, Hitomi? Too curious to see the 'dumb blonde' training?"

"Shut it!" Hitomi snapped, her pride wounded.

Both girls were about to clash when Yuto stepped between them. He karate-chopped their heads lightly, causing both of them to flinch. "Stop fighting. We're here to train, not bicker."

Naruko rubbed her head, frowning at him, while Hitomi glared but didn't say anything. Yuto turned to Naruko first. "Naruko, stop bullying Hitomi."

Then he faced Hitomi. "And you, stop making fun of Naruko."

He gave them a calm smile, extending his hand. "Look, we're here to get stronger. I only see you two as my only rivals in the academy, and that's what motivates me. So how about we all work together, compete with each other, and become the strongest?"

Both girls blinked in surprise. Hitomi had expected Yuto to look down on her for ranking lower, but instead, he was treating her like an equal. She stared at his outstretched hand, guilt creeping in. 'He's… actually kind. All this time, I thought he was just an another arrogant genius because I didn't want to get to know him,' she thought. Slowly, she extended her hand, shaking his.

"Alright, Yuto. I'll train with you," she said with a small, genuine smile.

Yuto beamed and turned to Naruko, gently pushing her forward. "Naruko's a pain sometimes," he said with a grin, "but she's a good friend and always has your back."

Naruko sighed, clearly reluctant, but extended her hand toward Hitomi. "Let's just… get along, okay?"

Hitomi, a bit more relaxed now, nodded. "Yeah. Let's do that."

Their handshake was interrupted by the loud sound of Guy crying. His face was bright red, and tears streamed down his face. "So youthful! My students are blooming with the power of youth!"

The trio barely had time to react before Guy's body was surrounded by an aura of flames. "But before you train together, you must face the flames of youth! Today, all three of you will take on a challenge to decide if Hitomi can join us—a run around the village! Ten laps with weights on your legs!"

All three of them stared in dread, exchanging horrified looks. Yuto groaned inwardly, 'This day just got a whole lot worse…'

With that, the three began their grueling run around the village. Yuto tried to focus on the positive. 'At least Hitomi joined us. I can see that as a win... if I ignore the fact that my body's in pain.'

As they continued their laps, the bond between Yuto, Naruko, and Hitomi had unexpectedly begun to form. Through rivalry and training, they started to understand each other better, even if only just a little.

The day was painful, but Yuto couldn't help but feel that something special was starting to grow between the three of them. As Yuto, Hitomi, and Naruko raced behind Guy, each panting heavily as they pushed their legs to keep up. The weights around their ankles made every step a struggle, but Yuto's mind wasn't just on the physical pain. His thoughts kept wandering back to the mission he had looming over him—the Uchiha massacre. And now, with Hitomi suddenly training with them, everything felt even more complicated.

'Great, just what I needed,' Yuto thought sarcastically, eyes flicking toward Hitomi. 'First this crazy mission, and now she's here too. Though Having her here is a great opportunity to my plan, What am I supposed to do? How do I Protect her from the Tsukuyomi? How am I even supposed to survive that night, let alone save her?'

Naruko, on the other hand, was determined. Every stride she took was full of competitive fire as she glanced at Hitomi, who seemed to keep pace easily despite the strain. "You're not beating me today, princess!" Naruko barked out between breaths, her voice filled with her usual cocky tone.

Hitomi gave her a sideways look but didn't respond. She kept her eyes ahead, focused on Guy's back, trying her best to tune out Naruko's provocations. 'I'm not doing this to beat both of them in this race. I'm doing this to surpass both of them,' she thought, determination bubbling inside.

Meanwhile, in the shadows far away from the training grounds, two figures moved through the trees—one a Root operative, silent and calculating, and the other our famous worldwide celebrity, Kakashi Hatake, watching closely. Both had their targets: Yuto and Naruko.

At Root Headquarters, Danzo slammed his hand onto his desk in frustration. "What is she doing training with them!?" he growled, his eye narrowing as he stared at the reports. "An Uchiha… and not just any Uchiha, but Hitomi Uchiha. The daughter of the clan head and sister of Itachi."

His thoughts raced. 'This complicates everything. If she becomes close to Yuto and Naruko, it could interfere with my plans for the boy and the jinchuriki.'

Danzo had long envisioned Naruko as his future weapon, a tool of unimaginable power to be controlled and used as he saw fit. Yuto, on the other hand, was his future tool, a genius that could shape the next generation. Both were crucial for his ambitions, and now Hitomi's sudden involvement was a threat he hadn't anticipated.

"That girl…" Danzo muttered under his breath. "Itachi's sister, which means she is more valuable than most. Itachi… I'll need to manipulate him carefully, but I can't let Hitomi interfere with my plans for Naruko. She might need to be… handled." He let the idea simmer in his mind before continuing. "If she gets too close, I'll just make her as a… breeder. A future Uchiha army, loyal only to Root. After the Massacre, with Itachi leaving and her remaining alone, i can take action if i remove Hiruzen from the Hokage's position."

His cold, calculating mind spun the possibilities. Root agents had already been dispatched to keep a closer watch on them, ensuring that he had full control over every move Yuto and Naruko made. And now, with Hitomi's involvement, there was no room for error.

At the same time, Kakashi stood before the Hokage, his mask hiding his expression. "Danzo's been keeping a close eye on Yuto and Naruko," Kakashi reported, his voice calm yet serious. "And now, with Hitomi joining them, it seems like he's plotting something bigger."

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, frowned deeply. "Danzo never moves without a purpose. If he sees Hitomi as a threat or an asset, then things could escalate. I'll keep an eye on the situation, but for now, continue to monitor them. If you see anything suspicious, report to me immediately."

Kakashi nodded, disappearing from the office as quickly as he had arrived. 'Yuto… Naruko… Hitomi… I hope you kids can stay out of Danzo's grasp,' he thought before vanishing into the shadows.

Back at the training grounds, Yuto glanced at Guy, who was still leading them on their laps, his enthusiasm never wavering. 'At least we're getting stronger,' Yuto thought, though the thought of the massacre still lurked in his mind.

As they rounded another corner, Yuto suddenly bumped into Hitomi, who had slowed down. She stumbled but quickly regained her balance, shooting him a sharp glare. "Watch it, Yamanaka!"

Yuto blinked, a bit surprised by her reaction. "Sorry, didn't see you slowing down," he muttered, rubbing the back of his head.

Hitomi huffed, clearly annoyed. "Just… stay focused. I don't need your apology."

Yuto raised an eyebrow. 'She's really competitive,' he thought, but then something else crossed his mind. 'I need to stay close to her. The mission…'

Guy turned around, flashing them all a thumbs-up. "You're doing great! One more lap to go!"

Yuto sighed inwardly as they continued running, the weight of both the physical and mental burdens pressing down on him. As they ran, the village around them blurred into the background, and all Yuto could think about was how much more complicated everything had become with Hitomi joining their training group.

The day might have been productive for his body, but his mind was drowning in questions—how to handle the upcoming massacre, how to protect Hitomi, and what role Danzo and the village's politics would play in his future when he was involved in the Massacre.

As the sun began to set, signaling the end of the day's training, Yuto couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something much bigger than he had ever imagined.
