Naruto: Forbidden Arts and an Immortal Agenda

Chapter 72: Chapter 72: Alternate Identity Enters the Black Market

Aozora strolled through Konoha's streets, surrounded by villagers.

Like a thief, his eyes darted around constantly.

But unlike a thief looking for wallets, Aozora was watching to see if anyone needed help.

Konoha, however, was known across the Ninja World for its excellent security, and most of its citizens were inherently good-hearted—there weren't many serious problems.

After wandering all morning, the only notable thing Aozora had done was help an elderly woman cross the street.

He stopped for a moment, trying to figure out why.

In Konoha, when people faced difficulties, they usually went straight to the Hokage Hall to post missions. Minor issues rarely required outside help.

Wandering aimlessly alone through Konoha wouldn't give him many chances to accumulate Gongde.

Understanding this, Aozora decided to go home and come up with a new plan.

As he made his way back to the Uchiha compound, he suddenly felt someone watching him.

On Konoha's busy streets, where he often drew attention due to his extraordinary looks, it was hard to tell whether the gazes were admiring or hostile.

But now on this empty path, completely deserted, that feeling of being watched stood out clearly.

Frowning slightly, Aozora casually scanned the surroundings. With his sharp perception, he faintly detected a dark figure behind and to his right.

"Anbu? Or maybe Root?"

He didn't stop walking, nor did he intend to expose whoever was following him.

After all, he was an upright man who feared no surveillance.

Once he reached the Uchiha compound, the feeling of being observed vanished. With so many skilled Uchiha living there, no one would dare enter their territory to spy.

After lunch, Aozora lay back on his bed, thinking about how to earn more Gongde.

Staying in the village wasn't worth it anymore—except for cleaning the river channels, there were hardly any stable ways to gain merit.

So going outside the village became his only option.

Outside the walls, countless criminals roamed—mountain bandits, robbers, and thugs—waiting to be dealt with one after another in this chaotic Ninja World.

That was the fastest and most dependable way to rack up Gongde.

But where could he get such information?

The Mission Hall? Out of the question—he didn't want to expose his movements.

Ask the clan leader?

No good either. For starters, the Uchiha rarely traveled outside the village, so they had little external intelligence. And even regarding Fugaku Uchiha, Aozora couldn't fully trust him.

After deep thought, Aozora suddenly thought of a place—the Black Market!

The wanted bounties posted at the Black Market included not just major figures from different villages and nations, but also notorious evildoers covered in bloodshed.

The intelligence available at the Black Market rivaled that of ninja villages. As long as he could infiltrate it, Aozora believed he'd have more villains than he could handle.

Before entering the Black Market, though, he needed an alternate identity.

There was no way Aozora could walk out with that unmistakably handsome face of his.

Forget being recognized—just seeing his good looks would totally kill his scary vibe.

Preparing a new persona posed no problem for Aozora.

Thinking it over, he stood before the mirror and began shaping his disguise using the golden version of [Jia Xing].

First requirement: fierceness.

Hmm, a bald head definitely looked fierce.

Second requirement: muscular build.

At this thought, Aozora took off his shirt.

Looking at his slender frame, Aozora frowned.

Grow! Grow! Grow!

Build! Build! Build!

Pound! Pound! Pound!

...

After a few tweaks, a muscular bald giant finally materialized.

He sported bulging pecs and abs like iron armor—a total muscle monster. An Eastern dragon was inked across his sculpted form, seeming to come alive with every flex.

Oh man, this is like a melee guy—I'm supposed to be a ranged hero.

Aozora rubbed his chin, wanting to change skins, but couldn't help feeling attached.

Hmm… Well, might as well start practicing close combat. Guess I'll roll with this for now.

But then again, I'd better keep the Sharingan active during melee fights. How do I hide it?

Thinking it over, Aozora fetched a red silk cloth and tied it around his eyes.

Once the Sharingan activated, the weak visual obstruction of the red silk completely vanished—it merely added a crimson filter to Aozora's vision.

Pounding his fists together, Aozora grinned.

With these hands, I will fulfill your dream!

After switching to a disguise skin, Aozora blended in as a regular clan member and left the Uchiha Compound heading toward the Police Force headquarters.

Having obtained intelligence regarding the black market from Fugaku, Aozora exited Konoha Village disguised as an average passerby.

The black market had considerable influence, establishing branches even in neighboring villages of Konoha.

Following Fugaku's lead, Aozora quickly located a relatively moderate branch of the underground marketplace.

On the surface, it was just a small sake bar, but below was a hidden black market.

Disguised as a monk-warrior in a training robe, Aozora whispered the password to the bar owner and was led into a private room before descending into a hidden chamber.

As he descended the stairs, the space opened up dramatically.

Though not enormous, the underground market bustled with numerous ninja and samurai, all hooded and masked, concealing their identities.

Upon entering, Aozora immediately drew glares full of hostility.

Unfazed, Aozora instead focused on observing the layout of the black market.

All around the walls were posted various wanted notices—resembling small advertisements.

Most renowned ninja were featured there, excluding only the Five Kage.

Among those wanted notices were also several members of the Uchiha clan, such as clan head Fugaku and Hachidai.

Interestingly, compared to others of similar rank, the Uchiha bounties were surprisingly high—an Uchiha possessing a complete triple tomoe Sharingan could fetch at least forty million ryō.

No wonder the clan head never considered rebelling. Once outside Konoha, the Uchiha would become target practice for hungry bounty hunters across the Ninja World.

Noticing Aozora eyeing the Uchiha bounties, the black market boss approached coldly: "Don't even think about going after the Uchiha. Newbies, keep your dreams in check."

Aozora asked, surprised: "Boss, you actually police this place?"

The black market operator replied, "I'm near Konoha here; few bounty hunters come through to pick up jobs, business is bad enough already. Otherwise, why would I care if you live or die?"

Nodding in understanding, Aozora assured, "Don't worry, I'm not that reckless."

Aozora found a seat and said, "Boss, give me a list of wanted notices targeting those who've committed heinous crimes, have low cultivation levels, but offer high rewards."

The Black Market owner gave him a surprised glance but didn't say anything. Instead, he tossed Aozora a small notebook.

"These are the recent wanted missions. Take your pick."

With that, he turned to serve other customers.

"What kind of service is this? Customer service's terrible!"

Aozora muttered in complaint about their poor service as he started flipping through the notebook.

As he read, a smile crept across his face.

Choosing the Black Market was definitely the right decision.

The notebook listed countless missions. Besides the few targeting minor Daimyo or wealthy merchants from larger cities, most were for Rogue Ninja, bandits, and personal enemies.

Though these individuals' strength might not be much to speak of, they were known for their cruelty and mass murders, prompting their enemies to offer all their worldly possessions just for revenge.

However, an ordinary person's entire fortune wouldn't interest powerful ninja warriors.

Aozora was different—he was here to accumulate Gongde. Money didn't matter to him.

Soon after, Aozora finished browsing the notebook and flagged the boss down.

"I'll take this one, and this one, this one… and that one too!"
