Hearing the Third Hokage's agreement, Kai's lips curled into a faint, meaningful smile. He muttered under his breath, "Kumogakure, huh? Now that's something I'm quite interested in."

The ninjas of Konoha sat on one side of the meeting table, while the representatives from Kumogakure and Iwagakure sat on the other.

Before the meeting could officially begin, Iwagakure's envoy, Iwamon, stood up abruptly and declared, "Iwagakure has no objections to the terms of the defeat treaty. Moreover, over the past few days, we have not encountered any harassment from Konoha ninjas. Lord Tsuchikage is awaiting my return to report back, so I won't be participating in this meeting."

With that, he completely ignored the furious glare from Yagetsu Saki, the envoy from Kumogakure, and turned to leave without hesitation.

"Don't let the door hit you on the way out," Kai remarked indifferently, his gaze shifting toward Yagetsu Saki. "Old man, do you have any issues?"

Iwamon's departure seemed to unsettle Yagetsu Saki. However, recalling the Third Hokage's cautious nature, which likely wouldn't risk initiating another war, Yagetsu Saki regained some confidence. He spoke up, his tone growing bolder, "Third Hokage, two members of our Kumogakure negotiation team were killed here in Konoha. The culprit is none other than Hiashi Hyuga. Does Konoha not intend to give us an explanation?"

The Third Hokage responded slowly, "Indeed, after an investigation by Konoha's Anbu, it is true that the deaths of the two Kumogakure envoys were caused by a Konoha ninja."

At this, the Third Hokage paused.

Hearing these words, a gleam of delight flashed in Yagetsu Saki's eyes. He thought to himself, As expected, the Third Hokage, even as the victor, wouldn't dare to recklessly provoke another war.

Yagetsu Saki froze, momentarily unsure of what Konoha was plotting. Before coming to Konoha, the Raikage had explicitly warned him: under no circumstances should he provoke Mitarashi Kai.

According to reports from surviving Kumogakure ninjas who had returned from the battlefield, Mitarashi Kai had single-handedly annihilated an entire joint force of Iwagakure and Kumogakure ninjas. However, Yagetsu Saki dismissed these accounts as mere excuses fabricated by defeated ninjas to justify their failure. After all, how could such an overwhelmingly powerful individual exist in the ninja world?

Nevertheless, a faint sense of unease lingered in his heart. "Hmph, I clearly saw the Byakugan. How could it have been you? Don't tell me you possess the Byakugan as well?"

As he spoke, Yagetsu Saki glanced smugly at Kai, as though he had found a flawless argument.

Kai responded with an enigmatic smile that sent a shiver down Yagetsu Saki's spine.

"Byakugan?" Kai said softly, his gaze fixed on Yagetsu Saki. "Are you referring to… this?"

As he spoke, Kai's previously dark pupils suddenly transformed. The veins around his eyes bulged, and his irises turned into the distinct pale hue unique to the Hyuga clan's Byakugan.

"This… this is… the Byakugan! Impossible!" Yagetsu Saki's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at Kai.

"Byakugan!"

Not only Yagetsu Saki, but even the Third Hokage was momentarily stunned. He had never imagined that Kai would possess the Hyuga clan's Byakugan.

The Third Hokage instinctively turned to look at Hiashi Hyuga. However, to his surprise, Hiashi's expression remained calm and unperturbed, as though he had long been aware of Kai's possession of the Byakugan. Seeing this, the Third Hokage suppressed his doubts and chose to remain silent.

"Well? Is there still any doubt now?" Kai asked nonchalantly.

"This…" Yagetsu Saki hesitated, his face contorted with indecision.

Seeing the conflicted look on Yagetsu Saki's face, Kai continued, "Oh, by the way, it wasn't just me. These three kids behind me also participated in taking down those Kumogakure ninjas."

Kai gestured toward the three standing behind him—Kimimaro, Haku, and Itachi Uchiha. "One has the Shikotsumyaku Kekkei Genkai, another has the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai, and the last one is a brat from the Uchiha clan."

Kai knew exactly what Yagetsu Saki was after—Konoha's Kekkei Genkai. He didn't believe for a second that Yagetsu Saki could resist taking the bait after such a blatant provocation.

As expected, upon hearing Kai's words, the last trace of reason vanished from Yagetsu Saki's eyes, replaced entirely by greed. He shouted, "Mitarashi Kai, since you've confessed, you must pay the price! Otherwise, Kumogakure will not hesitate to declare war on Konoha once again!"

"Declare war?" Kai smirked disdainfully. I wonder how many ninjas Kumogakure can still muster—three thousand? Five thousand?

However, Kai kept his thoughts to himself, as he had his own plans.

"Of course, I don't wish for Konoha to be dragged into another war. How about this: I'll personally accompany you to Kumogakure to explain everything to the Raikage. How does that sound?" Kai suggested calmly.

Yagetsu Saki hadn't expected Kai to be so cooperative. Overjoyed, he quickly masked his excitement and pressed further, "Not just you. Those three brats behind you must come as well!"

In Yagetsu Saki's mind, no matter how powerful Mitarashi Kai might be, once he was in Kumogakure, he would be at their mercy. As for the rumors of Mitarashi Kai destroying Kirigakure on his own? Yagetsu Saki outright dismissed them. Besides, Kumogakure's foundation was far stronger than Kirigakure's.

"No problem," Kai agreed without hesitation.

"Kai…" The Third Hokage opened his mouth to speak but was immediately interrupted by Kai.

"Lord Third, since we were all involved in the incident, it's only right that we go to Kumogakure together. Otherwise, it wouldn't be good if this escalates into a war," Kai said firmly.

"Haha, you're absolutely right! Since you've confessed, Kumogakure will no longer pursue war with Konoha. Rest assured, as long as you apologize to the Raikage in person, I guarantee your safety," Yagetsu Saki said quickly, though inwardly he was sneering. "No problem. When do we leave?" Kai asked.

"The sooner, the better. How about right now?" Yagetsu Saki replied eagerly, not wanting to risk any unforeseen complications.

"Fine by me," Kai answered.
