Naruto : I Became the Daimyo of the Land of Grass

Chapter 52: Chakra Tractor

Each country and village quietly rebuilt and healed the wounds left by the conflict. Before anyone knew it, three years of peace had gone by.

After Nagatos powerful essay, "Theres No Such Thing as a Child of Destiny in This World!" spread across the land, the Land of Grass was filled with fresh energy and enthusiasm.

Everyone contributed their strength to build the Land of Grass. Everyone became a child of destiny for this land. Because of that, in just over two years, the Land of Grass made an unexpected leap in development, something even Charlie hadn't imagined possible.

At that moment, Charlie stood inside the research institute next to the academy. Holding a cylindrical object handed to him by Elder Yojin, his face lit up with excitement.

"This is… a chakra capacitor?!" he whispered. 'Finally, had it succeeded?'

More than three years had passed since the chakra capacitor was finally developed, a breakthrough device that truly blended science with ninjutsu and laid the foundation for scientific shinobi tools. To put it simply, industrial progress has always been about finding different ways to boil water, whether using gravity, wind, water, coal, or electricity.

Scientific shinobi tools simply replaced coal or electricity with chakra as the energy source. Thanks to the chakra capacitor and miniature scrolls, it became possible to power all kinds of special scientific devices with chakra.

This led to innovations like biologically engineered shinobi tools, including artificial prosthetics, organs, and other biological parts. By combining traditional puppet techniques with Hashirama cells and an artificial chakra network, these prosthetics could perform ninjutsu, taijutsu, and chakra control just like the users original limbs.

At the same time, chakra channeled through miniature scrolls could produce elemental techniques or genjutsu effects that regular technology couldnt match. Essentially, this made certain technologies much easier to develop.

Take an electric fan, for example, it works by using alternating current to create a magnetic field that spins the motor coil, which then turns the blades, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. But with a chakra capacitor and miniature shinobi tool scrolls, you could simply activate a Wind Release or Ice Release technique to achieve the same result. Chakra powers the scroll, which releases the jutsu and produces the effect, simple and convenient!

Interestingly, Charlie recalled watching an episode long ago where Konoha, even at its founding, already had electricity. Hashirama and Tobirama Senju once debated Madara Uchihas succession as Hokage in a small wooden house lit by a single electric bulb. Back then, there were no air conditioners or televisions, but after the Third Great shinobi War ended, roughly after the Nine-Tails attack, Konoha changed drastically.

The Uchiha household had a huge CRT TV, Naruto's apartment was equipped with a refrigerator and air conditioning, Shikamaru's house had a radio, and the Chunin exams featured monitors and large screens. The wiring was chaotic, though, thick cables ran everywhere, much like the remote video setup during the Fourth Great shinobi War.

Still, when the Kazekage was rescued, they used wireless communication. Guy even said, "Wireless radios are still handy over short distances!" So it was probably short-range wireless after all.

During the shinobi Wars, many communication shinobis carried bulky devices on their backs to send and receive information, lugging around huge signal receivers.

Later on, in the Boruto era, Raiden Raikage introduced a hot air balloon relay station that allowed for wireless communication across the entire country. This makes you wonder, were the battlefields in the Fourth Great shinobi War actually smaller than we thought?

Technology also developed at different rates depending on the country. Take Konoha and Sunagakure, for example.

When Gaara went missing, Sunagakure immediately suspected Konoha and prepared for war. At the standoff, their weapons were surprisingly primitive, wooden crossbows, while Konoha had cannons!

Of course, Sunagakure wasn't completely behind; they had electricity lighting their meeting rooms with electric bulbs. Maybe their reliance on wooden crossbows was linked to their puppet masters.

They also had pachinko machines, vending machines, and decent medical technology, so daily life and healthcare weren't bad at all. Still, some technologies lagged far behind. Perhaps That's because chakra exists in their world, a supernatural power that replaces certain technologies, which might explain why some tech never developed.

When Hashirama ended the Warring States period and created the system of shinobi villages, shifting the focus from clan battles to international wars, the internal peace and the catalyst of three great shinobi Wars spanned nearly fifty years and pushed technology forward significantly.

On the other hand, smaller countries struggled technologically because most were caught up in constant warfare, serving as battlegrounds or cannon fodder for bigger powers. Without stability, technological progress was nearly impossible.

The Land of Grass, for instance, was wiped out entirely. Even if it hadn't been, developing ninjutsu was already tough enough without trying to advance technology. Sunagakure was probably just poor, maintaining a shinobi village was expensive, and there was little leftover funding for research and development.

As Charlie held the chakra capacitor and the miniature shinobi tool scroll in his hands, he reflected on how the miniature scroll had been developed just two years ago, but research was ongoing. They were exploring ways to make it even smaller, maybe one day it would be a nano-scale shinobi tool scroll, like a microchip!

These two inventions formed the foundation of scientific shinobi tools. After more than three years of hard work, massive investment of manpower and resources, and full national support, they were finally about to see the fruits of their labor.

How could they not be excited? How could they not feel proud?

If they didn't show results soon, even if the lord stayed quiet, other shinobis in the village would start complaining, and the pressure on them from within would become unbearable. Honestly, if it werent for the Uzumaki clans sealing techniques helping them out, they probably wouldn't have made progress so fast.

"This is something we developed based on chakra capacitors and miniature scrolls!" Yojin said excitedly, spreading his hands to reveal a strange-looking device next to him, kind of like a small cart.

Charlie circled the little red and green machine. "Looks a bit like… a tractor?"

"That's right! Its my new invention, a tractor!"

"…"

"It really was a tractor! "It uses Wind Release: Wind Blade(Fūton: Kaze no Yaiba). The idea is to use the Wind Releases slicing power, just press this switch to start it up! And because of the Wind Release, even one person can easily push it!"

Yojin moved behind the machine and activated it. still excited, he added, "We even set three power levels: high, medium, and low. So it can work with different crops. Since its harvest season here in the Land of Grass, it can save a lot of manpower, resources, and time!"

"…"
