Chapter 136: MSOC: Chapter 136

"Who are those two? They killed the Taketori leader and Haru in one blow!"

"Their strength is at least elite jōnin level. And the Taketori leader looked terrified at the end..."

The crowd erupted in astonishment. This was completely unexpected. The remaining Taketori and Tsuchigumo clansmen, momentarily stunned, fled.

"Don't run! Help me!" Tsuchigumo, gravely injured and impaled by the bone spear, panicked. His attack on Konan had exhausted him. Most importantly, a black-veined hand was gripping his ankle, preventing escape.

He'd hoped to use Haru and the Taketori leader to kill Kai and Kakuzu, then escape. Failing to kill them, he'd planned to use the chaos to his advantage. But this had completely overturned his expectations. With Haru and the Taketori leader dead, he was next.

The attention on him made Tsuchigumo sweat.

"Kakuzu, he might be useful," Kai said, looking at Kakuzu.

Tsuchigumo's face lit up. "Sir, spare me! The entire Tsuchigumo clan will serve you! I can offer you anything!"

Facing death, he'd do anything.

"In that case, I won't be polite," Kai smiled warmly.

"You drove the Banana Palm Fan's price up to twenty-seven million. I don't have enough, but your words have removed my last shred of hesitation."

"Kakuzu, take his head. Add his bounty to Haru and the Taketori leader's, and that should be enough, right?"

Kai's words sent a shockwave through the crowd. They'd thought he was just a spoiled rich kid. But his true nature was ferocious.

"No, you can't kill me! I can't die!" Tsuchigumo's joy turned to terror. He took out a pill and swallowed it.

His body swelled, veins bulging, his wounds rapidly healing.

Everyone was shocked. Tsuchigumo looked like a wild beast. But having used his trump card, he fled. The pill was effective, but facing Kai and Kakuzu's overwhelming power, he had no fighting spirit. He only wanted to escape.

As he ran, the ground pulsed, black veins erupting like sharp spikes, forming a net around him. A red, grotesque mask was visible within the veins.

"That's... that's the immortal Kakuzu!"

Those familiar with the black market recognized him. They finally understood who Tsuchigumo had offended.

"Spare hi—" Konan's face paled. Most in the black market knew of Kakuzu.

But Kai interrupted her.

"I appreciate kindness, but don't let it get you killed," Kai said calmly.

Kakuzu clasped his hands, chakra surging.

"Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Wor!"

The mask in the black veins opened its mouth. A torrent of fire engulfed the ensnared Tsuchigumo.

No!

Tsuchigumo struggled, roaring hysterically. But it was futile. His enhanced strength was no match for Kai and Kakuzu.

The fire consumed him. The flames spread, causing the onlookers to flee. But there were only two exits, causing a bottleneck.

Kai's gaze fell upon the tattooed auctioneer. With a flash of lightning, he vanished and reappeared beside the auctioneer.

"S-sir, what do you want?" The auctioneer's face turned white. He'd seen Kai kill three powerful individuals, and even the legendary bounty hunter Kakuzu was calling him "Sir." Even the black market wouldn't dare underestimate such a being.

"You saw them die. Their bounties cover the cost of this," Kai grabbed the Banana Palm Fan. "If that's not enough, I can get more heads."

The auctioneer's face turned pale. He frantically waved his hands. "Sir, that's enough!"

Kai took the Banana Palm Fan, feeling a chill as he held it. He sensed powerful amplification seals. To use its full power, he'd need immense chakra and mastery of the seals.

As Kai pondered a solution, a familiar voice echoed in his mind.

"Ding! Host has obtained the Six Paths Tool, Banana Palm Fan. Do you wish to instantly max its proficiency?"
