Naruto: My Bedroom Connects to Rin Nohara 14 Years Ago

Chapter 14: Daily Tasks, Thunder and Earth Dual Attributes

Outskirts of Konoha.

Under the shade of leafy trees, three figures were hard at work, sweating as they cleared domestic garbage scattered in every corner.

"Is this what being a ninja is? This is the legendary mission?"

"Damn it, this is nothing like what I imagined!"

Taro and Jiro complained while picking up trash, both visibly disappointed by the long-awaited task.

But despite their griping, neither of them slowed down. Slacking off wasn't an option—not with brother Ishikawa working so hard right in front of them. As his loyal underlings, it was only natural that they pushed themselves just as much to carry the load.

"Hurry up, both of you. Once we finish, I'll take you to find a teacher to practice ninjutsu," Ishikawa said, wiping sweat from his brow. His eyes flicked toward Kakashi, who sat nearby reading a pervy book with far too much interest, before urging the two again.

Knowing Kakashi's personality, if they didn't take the initiative, they might not learn a single useful ninjutsu for months. That couldn't happen.

The three of them were Genin—and none of them knew any actual offensive ninjutsu? How absurd is that...

"Practice ninjutsu?" Taro and Jiro exchanged glances, their eyes lighting up in surprise. Without another word, they doubled their speed.

If that's true, then it's worth getting excited about!

"Ugh, looks like I won't be going home early today…" Not far off, Kakashi twitched slightly, as if overhearing, and shook his head helplessly.

As their Jonin instructor, teaching his team ninjutsu was his responsibility. He didn't object to that. But heading out on missions with a team that only knew three basic body techniques? That was a sign of disaster.

Besides, Guy might...

"Sensei, mission accomplished!" Before Kakashi could finish that thought, Ishikawa and the others dropped off three large baskets of garbage and stepped forward to report.

"So fast? Seems like you're all pretty motivated." Kakashi praised them absentmindedly, slipping the little red book into his pouch and pretending to walk away.

He could guess what they were thinking—but even so, he still had to go through the motions.

"Sensei Kakashi! We want to learn ninjutsu—please!" Ishikawa stepped forward and said it directly. Whether or not Kakashi had heard their earlier conversation didn't matter—he had to make it clear.

What? Were they supposed to wait for the Jonin to offer it first? Don't be ridiculous.

"Ninjutsu, huh…" Kakashi paused, pretending to think about it. Then he slowly looked them over with his visible right eye. Under the nervous gazes of Taro and Jiro, he finally nodded.

"As you probably learned in the Academy, ninjutsu is mainly divided into five nature transformations—Earth, Fire, Lightning, Wind, and Water. Mastering ninjutsu becomes much easier when it matches your chakra nature."

"So—do you know what your chakra attributes are? If you don't, I'm not sure what I should teach you…"

"Huh? How would we know that?" Taro's face fell, and he shouted almost immediately in disappointment.

"Yeah! How do you even tell what your chakra attribute is?" Jiro added, turning to Ishikawa with wide eyes full of confusion.

Ishikawa, of course, already knew about chakra test papers. He'd secretly bought one from a ninja tool shop the day after transmigrating. But as a so-called civilian Genin, how could he possibly know about something even Naruto didn't?

Better to pretend he didn't know. Less trouble that way.

"So… is there any ninjutsu we can learn without knowing our chakra attributes? Like… Shadow Clone Jutsu or something?"

Simple. Safe. Smart. Blending in with the crowd was far better than sticking out.

"You actually know about the Shadow Clone?" Kakashi was slightly stunned and looked at Ishikawa in surprise as he asked casually.

Of course, he knew plenty of non-elemental ninjutsu—at least ten—but those high-level techniques weren't suitable to teach to rookies like Ishikawa's team.

"I happened to see someone use it once. It's a high-level clone technique that works in conjunction with the original body," Ishikawa replied casually, making it up on the spot. After all, in a big village like Konoha, it wasn't strange to accidentally witness someone practicing.

"Is that so..." Kakashi nodded, not pressing the matter further. Then, under Ishikawa's surprised gaze, he reached into his ninja tool pouch and pulled out three thin slips of paper.

"I was planning to test your chakra attributes in a few days, but we might as well do it now," he said.

"This is chakra test paper. Just channel your chakra into it, and it will reveal your chakra nature." Kakashi handed the papers to the three of them and gave a brief explanation.

"I see. That's great!"

"Thank you, Kakashi-sensei. I'm sorry I doubted you earlier..."

Tarou and Jirou were immediately overjoyed. They howled like excited ghosts and quickly infused their chakra into the test papers.

The next second, one sheet burst into flames, while the other dampened like wet cloth.

"Fire and water, huh? Taro's fire and Jiro's water... interesting, those elements naturally counter each other." Kakashi nodded slightly as he looked at the results, then turned his gaze to Ishikawa.

'Fire and water? These two actually awakened such flashy attributes. I'm so jealous...' Ishikawa glanced at his younger brothers with envy before placing his fingers on the paper and channeling chakra with a casual expression.

Suddenly—

"It's lightning and earth—a dual-attribute user?!" Kakashi's eyes narrowed in surprise as he saw the test paper crackle with static and crumble partially into dust.

Although Ishikawa wasn't a rare five-attribute type like him, having two chakra natures already made him stand out. This was the mark of a Genin with the potential of a future Jonin.

After all, most elite ninjas in Konoha needed to master at least two elemental releases to qualify as Jonin. Being born with both gave Ishikawa a head start over his peers.

"Big bro is awesome as always!"

"So cool! You've got two chakra types?"

The two younger brothers cheered loudly, their faces full of admiration as they looked at Ishikawa, who was still staring blankly at his test paper in disbelief.

What's going on? He had secretly tested himself before and only had Earth nature—so where did this Lightning nature come from?

'Wait... could it be because of that?' Ishikawa immediately recalled the electric shock from the door handle and suddenly understood.

"Alright, now that I know your chakra attributes, I'll give each of you a C-rank ninjutsu to learn. For convenience, let's do this..." Kakashi clapped his hands, then quickly formed seals under the expectant gazes of the three.

"Shadow Clone Technique."

Poof! A puff of white smoke rose, and two shadow clones of Kakashi appeared beside him.

"Taro, Jiro—you two go with them." Kakashi waved a hand, assigning each clone to one of them.

Then, he turned to Ishikawa. "So, do you want to learn a Lightning Release or an Earth Release technique?"

Ishikawa's throat bobbed as he swallowed nervously, excitement burning in his eyes. "Can I... learn both, Kakashi-sensei?"

"Both?" Kakashi's visible eye flashed slightly, and a faint smile curled at the corner of his mouth. "If you're not afraid of getting tired, then sure."

"But let me warn you—I'll only demonstrate it once."
