Naruto: My Bedroom Connects to Rin Nohara 14 Years Ago

Chapter 4: Only Kakashi Remains from Minato's Team

"Crack…"

With a crisp sound, the door that had just electrocuted Ishikawa opened effortlessly under Nohara Rin's hand.

In an instant, Konoha during the Third Great Ninja War appeared before Ishikawa's eyes.

"Hah… Thank goodness nothing happened." Rin patted her chest and let out a sigh of relief as she saw the familiar scene beyond the door.

If she hadn't been able to return to her own time, it would've been a disaster.

While Rin was still catching her breath, Ishikawa's eyes were already glowing with excitement.

Just as I thought... these two doors connect two different time periods. This realization sent a thrill through him.

If he could move freely between the two eras, wouldn't that give him an overwhelming advantage in the ninja world? In terms of resources, intelligence, and training... he'd be miles ahead!

'Swoosh—'

Without hesitation, Ishikawa pulled out a kunai and flung it through the open door, nailing it into the trunk of a tree opposite the gate.

"What are you doing?!" Rin's face darkened as she instinctively jumped back, her expression wary.

But before she could react further, she saw Ishikawa dart out through the door.

Was he... trying to attack me just now?!

Suspicion flashed in her eyes, and after a moment of hesitation, she gritted her teeth and gave chase.

However, even with her quick movements, Ishikawa was quicker—he slammed the door shut just as she reached it.

Reflexively, Rin reached for the handle to pursue him, but just as her fingers were about to touch it, she remembered what had happened to Ishikawa earlier.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Wait... if I touch this, will I—?! In that instant, she released a burst of chakra and anchored herself to the floor with the Tree Climbing Technique to stop her forward motion.

"Huff… That was close…" Just a millimeter from the handle, Rin exhaled in relief and began to pull her hand back.

But just then—

"Click…"

The door suddenly opened again from the other side, and the handle swung right into her outstretched hand.

"Crack!"

As if struck by lightning, a powerful current surged through Rin's body. Her pupils widened in shock, and her body went rigid before collapsing to the floor with a thud.

"What the—?!" Ishikawa, just stepping back inside, froze.

He hurried over, grabbed Rin's wrist, and looked back at the doorway.

So it's true…Each door can only be safely opened by the person from that time period.

This discovery brought him unexpected reassurance.

If anyone could use this portal, it would become a threat rather than a blessing. It could attract attention, invite greed, and potentially lead to disaster.

In the ninja world, treasures attract trouble, and the weak get devoured. Ishikawa understood that better than anyone.

Now, with only himself and Nohara Rin able to use their respective doors, this portal might truly be his long-awaited golden finger.

But before he could think further—

He glanced down at Rin, who had collapsed again, unconscious.

He gently lifted her up, laid her on the bed, then calmly walked to the corner, retrieved an old, rusted kunai, and slipped back outside.

---

Two minutes later.

"Ugh… mm…" Nohara Rin stirred on the bed, groaning softly as her eyelids fluttered open.

The first thing she saw was Ishikawa sitting close by, staring at her with a serious expression.

Startled by the sudden proximity, she jolted upright. "W-What are you doing?!"

"Miss Rin," Ishikawa said calmly, ignoring her flustered reaction. "I think we need to have a serious talk."

"…Talk?" Rin blinked, her instincts tingling.

Seeing the seriousness on Ishikawa's face, her heart sank slightly. Something about this didn't feel right.

She quickly sat up, checking her body for injuries. Realizing she was unharmed, she let out a quiet sigh of relief.

At present, it was clear Ishikawa had no intention of harming her. If he really meant to attack, he wouldn't have missed the opportunity while she was unconscious.

"Miss Rin, although I don't know why our rooms suddenly merged across time and space, the current reality is that our two timelines are now connected."

"On your side, it's Konoha Year 45—14 years ago. On mine, it's Konoha Year 59—14 years later."

"Also, our portals can only be opened by us. If we want to cross into each other's era, we'll need to cooperate."

"But now… we might be in big trouble."

"Big trouble?" Nohara Rin frowned and asked with a hint of nervousness after hearing Ishikawa's clear analysis.

Without answering, Ishikawa turned and opened the door, gesturing for her to follow.

"Let's go to the future."

Seeing the open door, Rin took a deep breath to calm her racing heart and stepped forward.

With a single step, it felt just like passing through a normal doorway. Under the nervous watch of both of them, Nohara Rin crossed the portal smoothly and arrived in Konoha, Year 59.

Thank goodness it worked… Looking at the excited yet cautious Rin, Ishikawa couldn't help but feel secretly relieved.

Though he had tested the portal earlier with a kunai, this was the first time a living person had successfully crossed.

"This… this is Konoha, 14 years later!" Rin exclaimed, eyes wide as she looked around in awe, her gaze landing on the blurry outline of the Fourth Hokage's stone face in the distance.

But because of the darkness and the distance, she couldn't make out the face clearly.

"Don't get too excited. I brought you here mainly to show you that." Ishikawa quickly interrupted her and pointed to the large tree across the street.

He didn't want anyone to notice Nohara Rin's presence—too much attention would cause serious trouble.

"There it is!!"

With the help of the faint moonlight, Rin looked in the direction Ishikawa pointed and her expression subtly changed.

A kunai was firmly embedded in the trunk of the tree across from the house.

Under the soft glow of the moon, the faint rust on the kunai's handle shimmered—evidence that time had passed since it was thrown.

"Let's go back. I'll explain everything." Seeing Rin's slightly parted lips and confused expression, Ishikawa's eyes flashed with a faint smile. He led her back inside and quietly closed the door.

"That kunai—was it the one you threw earlier? You were trying to confirm if our two timelines influence each other?"

The moment the door closed, Rin turned and asked with a serious expression.

"As expected of Miss Rin, you figured it out immediately." Ishikawa gave her an approving nod, then continued with a solemn tone, "Which is exactly why I said we're in big trouble."

"Just like that kunai, even though we met for some unknown reason, our two eras are still connected by the same timeline."

"To put it simply, you're upstream in the river of time, and I'm downstream. So anything that happens in your time will inevitably ripple into mine."

"And right now, we don't know if this connection is temporary, permanent, regular, or intermittent…"

"If anyone else finds out, it could trigger a chain reaction. It might even lead to my disappearance-or-worse, the collapse of Konoha itself."

"So I hope we can keep this secret between us. At least… until those tragedies can be rewritten."

"Tragedies?" Rin murmured, confused, her gaze fixed on Ishikawa.

Ishikawa sighed and replied softly, "In the team photo from your generation… only Kakashi-sensei is still alive."

"Nani!!?" Rin's face went pale as her eyes filled with tears. She could no longer suppress the rising panic in her heart.

In the future… not only her but even Minato-sensei and Obito… were gone?

"Tell me…" she said after a long silence, her voice trembling. "How did Obito, Minato-sensei, and I… die?" She bit her lip and held back her tears.

She would never allow a future where Kakashi was left alone. A life without teammates… how painful must that be?
