Naruto : Ninja school teacher, I can become stronger by teaching

Chapter 57: Chapter 57: The True Exam Begins Before Entering the Examination Hall

The physical training was much tougher than Shisui had anticipated. Before this, he usually only exercised by running, and rarely pushed himself to exhaustion. But today was different; Shisui went through almost every exercise imaginable to train various parts of his body. After completing eight hundred push-ups, Shisui felt like his arms no longer belonged to him. After eight hundred squats, his legs felt as heavy as lead, and after eight hundred sit-ups, his abdomen ached. After finishing all these basic exercises, Shisui, leaning against a tree, felt as if he had lost control of his body. He used to watch Might Guy train intensely without feeling much, but now that it was his turn, he realized how excruciating it was. Towards the end, he was almost purely relying on willpower to push through, his physical sensations already blurred, simply performing repetitive, mechanical movements by sheer determination. Shisui almost couldn't resist using chakra to assist his training; he was simply too exhausted. Imagine, sweat constantly pouring down, blurring your vision, the salt stinging your eyes. Each movement of your heavy limbs is a test of will and strength, yet you can't stop because you haven't reached your training goal.

"Four hundred twelve, four hundred thirteen..."

Watching Might Guy, who was still doing frog jumps not far away, Shisui couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. He and Might Guy had started training almost at the same time. Might Guy's exercises were even more difficult to complete than his. When Shisui did push-ups, he just did push-ups, but Might Guy did push-ups with a stone strapped to his back as a weight. Even so, within the same amount of time, Might Guy still did more reps than him, and even after he was completely exhausted, Might Guy still had energy left to continue training. In fact, even in pure taijutsu combat, Shisui wouldn't lose to Might Guy, perhaps even being stronger, but when it came to a comparison of pure physical strength, he was far behind Might Guy.

When Might Guy rested, Shisui couldn't help but ask, "Guy, you must have trained a lot before, right? You can handle such a huge training load."

Might Guy nodded and replied, "I started before I even entered the Ninja Academy. My father trained with me."

Hearing Might Guy's words, Shisui felt a pang of melancholy and envy, because he had lost his parents at that age. Shisui believed that if his parents had still been alive then, they would have taught him ninja knowledge too.

"Shisui, do you feel too tired to complete it? I have a training secret; do you want to hear it?" Might Guy decided to share the training method his father had passed down to him with Shisui. Without the same clan ties as Obito and Shisui, his interactions with Shisui weren't extensive, but training and eating together frequently, Might Guy already considered Shisui a trustworthy comrade.

"What secret?" Shisui became interested.

"Exercise self-discipline. Treat these completed training sessions as challenges. If you don't complete a challenge, you have to accept a penalty. For example, if you don't finish three thousand push-ups on time, you punish yourself by doing five hundred more." Might Guy explained.

"Forcing yourself by putting shackles on yourself, that's indeed a very good training method," Shisui thought for a moment and said. He felt that Might Guy's method had a similar ingenious effect to Muyue's combat problem-solving. Shisui didn't expect that someone as seemingly rough-and-tumble as Might Guy could come up with such a method to motivate himself.

"It's great, isn't it? My father taught me this. Whenever I encounter a difficult challenge, I have to exercise self-discipline," Might Guy scratched his head and chuckled.

"Then your father must be a very powerful Jonin," Shisui praised. He felt that a father who could raise a son like Might Guy couldn't be ordinary.

"Haha, he's just a Genin, but I think my father is amazing!" Might Guy laughed loudly. Although he was a Genin forever, this didn't prevent Might Guy from believing in his father's strength.

"Genin..." Shisui's expression was a little surprised, and he became even more curious about Might Guy's father. Given Might Guy's age, his father had to be at least twenty-eight, and over thirty was perfectly normal. Being a Genin at that age was a rare situation.

"I have a chakra application technique for taijutsu here. Let's discuss it," Shisui said, returning the favor.

...

Ninja Academy, Classroom 1, Year 1.

"The Ninja Arts Theory Class 1 ends here. The final exams are in two weeks, so study hard and prepare for them," Muyue said. Originally, it was supposed to finish a week ago, but Muyue taught relatively quickly, so there were two weeks left for review.

"Muyue-sensei, don't forget my dango!" Anko spoke up.

"As long as you do well on the exam, you'll get your dango," Muyue said with a smile.

"Muyue-sensei, I want snacks!" Kotetsu raised his hand and said.

"You all prepare well for the exam, and there will be plenty of rewards," Muyue said as he organized his lesson plans.

Ding-ding-ding, soon the dismissal bell rang, and along with it, a system notification.

[Lecturing complete]

[Evaluation: A]

[Reward obtained: Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Claw]

Muyue picked up his lesson plans and nodded inwardly. This could be considered a relatively practical Fire Release ninjutsu.

"Two weeks to review? Just thinking about it makes me tired," Kotetsu grumbled.

"Then don't review, anyway, it's not like you weren't listening in class normally," Izumo Kamizuki suggested. Because of Kotetsu's unreliability, Izumo felt he had to find a girlfriend himself. He had already found out that the girl from next door was also attending the Ninja Academy, in Class 6, Year 1. He planned to get first place in the theoretical exam and then approach her as the top student. Although Kotetsu had scored a few points lower than him in the last exam, their scores in recent mock exams were almost identical. Izumo felt that Kotetsu was a strong contender for first place, so he wanted Kotetsu to give up on reviewing.

"No review. That sounds good too. My older cousin in the higher grade told me that sometimes, if you don't review for exams and approach them with a more relaxed attitude, you actually do better," Kotetsu nodded and said. In fact, Kotetsu's first grumble was a prelude to this sentence. He wanted Izumo to give up on reviewing so he could seize first place. Because he had boasted to Mei that he could get first in theory, and Izumo was his strong competitor for first place.

"Eh, is that really true?" Anko was a little tempted; she felt that reviewing for two weeks would be exhausting.

Kotetsu and Izumo both nodded in agreement.

"Shisui, do you usually review for exams?" Anko asked Shisui, who was behind her.

Shisui shook his head; he remembered everything during class. Seeing Shisui, who had ranked first in the last theoretical exam, say the same thing, Anko's eyes lit up instantly, feeling that she really didn't need to review.

"Then let's go play this weekend!" Anko invited her two good friends.

"No, I have something to do at home this weekend," Kotetsu shook his head and refused. He didn't want to go play; he just wanted to study and review to get first place.

"Then what about you, Izumo?" Anko looked at Izumo Kamizuki.

Izumo Kamizuki also shook his head and said, "My family has been very busy lately, so I can't go either." After finally tricking them into not reviewing, of course he was going to intensely study and review at home.

"Oh, I see. Then I'll find someone else to play with," Anko didn't doubt their words.

The real exam had already begun outside the classroom, and Anko had already been eliminated.
