The next morning, Vice Director Kimura was summoned to the Hokage Building. Ninja who had already sensed the looming war were aware of the situation's unusual nature. Both places were facing the threat of war, and both were from the Five Great Shinobi Countries. The other ninjas in the room, except for Hyuga Mirai, couldn't help but show nervous expressions. Even though Konoha had many talented ninjas, facing attacks from two of the Five Great Nations at once would result in devastating consequences.

Then she began selecting personnel. Since Sunagakure's puppeteers were known to be numerous and skilled with poisons, more medical ninjas were needed at Kikyo City. This time, it seemed that Sunagakure was determined to strike Konoha. Fortunately, Konoha had stocked up on supplies early, and this time, along with the medical ninjas, reinforcement troops would also be sent to the front lines.

Hyuga Mirai was assigned to Kikyo City. His research on cell genetics made him especially adept at researching antidotes. Once the personnel for the front lines were chosen, Kimura ordered everyone to disperse to deliver the news, and Hyuga Mirai left to prepare.

Hyuga Mirai quickly drew a small cut on his palm, formed the necessary hand seals, and pressed his hand to the ground. With a pop, a white snake appeared in front of him. 

The snake spat out a scroll from its mouth, which it then unsealed, before it deactivated the summoning technique.

"Do you want me to visit your lab?" The scroll didn't contain much information. Perhaps Orochimaru had many things to communicate, and one scroll couldn't contain it all.

After thinking for a moment, Mirai destroyed the scroll and left his house, heading straight to Orochimaru's laboratory.

With his Byakugan, no one in Konoha could track him. After integrating Hashirama's cells into his own, Mirai could even sense the faintest gaze from others. He made several twists and turns, changed his appearance, and eventually arrived at Orochimaru's lab.

He had been here several times, so he was familiar with the seals protecting the lab. This time, after touching the seal, Orochimaru did not come to greet him. Mirai waited a little while and then walked in on his own.

"Looks like Kabuto isn't here," Mirai thought, checking the area with his Byakugan. He made his way straight to Orochimaru's main lab.

"Orochimaru, you summoned me because... is this the latest model of the cultivation machine?" Mirai asked as he walked in, noticing the three-meter-tall machine filled with cell culture liquid, where an embryo was slowly developing within the glass tank.

"Mirai-kun, you've received orders to go to the front lines too, haven't you?" Orochimaru said, his face calm. But Mirai could sense a hint of displeasure in his voice. 

Researchers hate being interrupted, especially when Orochimaru had just discovered a new breakthrough. Judging by the shape of the embryo, it was likely a clone, perhaps even a clone of his own or of Senju Hashirama. 

"I received orders this afternoon to follow the support troops to Kikyo Mountain and then wait for further instructions from the front-line commander," Mirai replied.

Orochimaru paused when he heard about Kikyo Mountain, then chuckled. "It seems like you'll have to follow my orders then. Would you like me to take care of you?"
