As time passed, only a few hours before dawn, a sudden violent noise came from the direction of the Sandstorm Town. It rumbled like a heavy storm, almost as if thunder and rain had struck. However, the Land of Wind had barely any rainfall each year, so this sound could only be caused by the detonation of explosive tags.

"How many explosive tags did Lord Orochimaru use? Could he have used up all the ones he brought for this ambush?" Hyuga Mirai wiped away the nonexistent sweat from his brow. Although their hidden position was over ten kilometers away from the Sandstorm Town, the noise was still so loud, and they could even see the flames lighting up the sky from that direction.

"Who knows. But the Sand ninjas are definitely in trouble. I wonder how many will end up fleeing towards us." Hyuga Kiyo tightly clenched her fists, her voice filled with interest. She hoped to encounter a few skilled Sand ninjas. The past few days had been spent fighting nothing but low-level ones, and she hadn't had a chance to truly unleash her Gentle Fist techniques.

"Probably not many. The Sand ninjas might suffer a big loss, but they won't collapse and scatter." Mirai Hyuga explained, keeping his Byakugan activated to observe the situation from over eight kilometers away. The Sand ninjas still had over a thousand ninja stationed in Sandstorm Town, so even after taking an unexpected blow, they wouldn't completely break apart. 

Orochimaru's strategy was to make the Sand ninjas suffer a blow before the war even started—essentially using Konoha's reputation for not starting wars to weaken the Sand ninja forces through casualties.

"If any Sand ninja are headed this way, they're probably high-ranking ninjas carrying important messages back to the village. Kiyo, you may be as strong as a Chunin, but you're still no match for an Anbu ninja like Captain Akimichi Fuu." 

Kiyo Hyuga knew she wasn't strong enough to go up against someone like Akimichi Fuu. Her skill in Gentle Fist and speed allowed her to defeat Chunin-level ninjas, but when it came to elite ninjas, her techniques wouldn't be enough. Her chakra reserves were also no match for an Anbu's.

Seeing Kiyo's eager expression, Mirai quickly cautioned her to prevent her from making a reckless move against an elite Sand ninja. If something went wrong, the clan would definitely come after him. 

"Hmph, I know." Kiyo grumbled, unwilling to admit weakness, but after seeing the serious look on Mirai's face, she reluctantly agreed.

As the battle intensified in the distance, the team heightened their alertness. If they were careless and allowed the Sand ninja forces to slip past their ambush, they'd fail the mission—just like how White Fang's suicide was caused by such a failure. Mirai didn't want to fall into the same predicament.

In Sandstorm Town, once a rest stop for merchants traveling through the Land of Rivers, it had gradually become a military outpost for the Sand Village. After the Third Shinobi World War, the Third Kazekage, unable to accept his defeat against Konoha, decided to store military supplies in this location to avoid the challenges of transporting them through the desert.

The Third Raikage, upon hearing that the Sand Village had stockpiled supplies here, decided to send an elite team, including the Six Paths of the Sage tools, to test their luck. However, he didn't expect the Fourth Kazekage to be so decisive. Had the Third Raikage not retreated when things went wrong, none of the elite team members would have survived.

This time, Orochimaru's large-scale ambush at Sandstorm Town had been meticulously prepared. Elite squads were sent to take down the Sand ninjas' patrolling units and reconnaissance teams before the main force rushed to the town. When Konoha's ninja forces were still less than a kilometer from Sandstorm Town, most of the Sand ninjas were still asleep.

"Summoning Jutsu!" Several teams of Konoha ninja, using Orochimaru's blood, combined to perform the Summoning Jutsu. Based on the chakra output, each team summoned one or two gigantic serpents from the Ryūchi Cave.

"Enemies! Konoha ninjas!!!" The Sand ninjas, even the blind ones, realized the enemy's presence when the massive summoned snakes appeared.

Boom! A signal flare exploded in the sky, waking up most of the sleeping Sand ninjas. But by then, the enormous serpents were already charging at them.

These gigantic summoned snakes, some of which were over three meters in diameter, could easily destroy a building with the flick of their tails. The Sandstorm Town's outer walls were no match for the colossal creatures. And with their thick scales and immense power, it would take at least an elite ninja to counter their attack effectively.

"Damn it, a wind user! Look at where I'm attacking, and try to kill this snake in one strike..." A Sand ninja shouted, but before he could finish his sentence, his body suddenly froze.

"Sorry, but Orochimaru's summoned beasts won't be killed so easily," a pineapple-haired ninja emerged from the side of the serpent. With his shadow-jutsu technique, he connected the shadows of seven Sand ninjas standing ahead of him.

"Choza, go ahead!" "Got it, watch this!" 

A loud command from Akimichi Choza followed by hand seals. "Body-expansion Jutsu!" 

A five-meter-tall giant appeared beside the Sand ninjas, who were immediately overcome with fear. In the next instant, the giant swung a massive iron club and smashed them into nothing but blood and flesh.

The rest of the battle in Sandstorm Town mirrored this scene. With Orochimaru's massive summoned serpents clearing a path, Konoha's ninja squads quickly turned the situation into a massacre.

"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Jutsu!" 

"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" 

"Ahhh!!!"

The combination of fire and wind jutsu created a torrent of flame and wind that instantly claimed the lives of two Sand ninjas.

"Damn Konoha ninjas!!!" A Sand ninja roared in fury, pulling out a puppet in an attempt to avenge his fallen comrades. But before he could react, a lightning jutsu from another direction struck him down.

In the heart of Sandstorm Town, Orochimaru and other top-tier Konoha ninjas, like Nara Shikaku, were locked in intense combat with the Sand ninjas.

"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!" After killing a Sand ninja puppet master, Orochimaru used his Body Flicker Jutsu to appear beside Nara Shikaku.

"Shikaku, I'll make a distraction here. Take three squads and search for their military supplies. Whether you find anything or not, consider the explosive tags your signal."

"Understood, Lord Orochimaru." Shikaku immediately agreed, signaling for three Anbu teams to move out.

Once Shikaku departed, Orochimaru surveyed the surrounding battle and flashed a cold smile. 

"Summoning Jutsu!"
