Chapter 10: **Chapter 10: Shisui, Konoha Orphanage**

**Chapter 10: Shisui, Konoha Orphanage**

"Hello, my name is Uchiha Shisui."

A black-haired boy with a gentle smile appeared in an instant. He looked about 11 or 12 years old, standing just over 1.5 meters tall.

Despite his youthful appearance, Shimura Gengetsu did not dare to underestimate him.

Uchiha Shisui was currently the strongest genius of the Uchiha clan, and the future wielder of Kotoamatsukami, the most powerful genjutsu aside from Infinite Tsukuyomi.

He was also half of Uchiha Itachi's mentor—and the key to Itachi unlocking the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Gengetsu stared at Danzo in disbelief.

Had Sarutobi Hiruzen used Water Style on Danzo's brain?

Why would Shimura Danzo, the second-greatest Uchiha opponent in history (second only to Senju Tobirama), choose Shisui as his grandson's teacher?

Sure, Shisui was more than capable—but did Danzo forget who he was?

Noticing Gengetsu's puzzled expression, Danzo assumed he was doubting Shisui's strength. His tone deepened as he reprimanded,

"Gengetsu, don't underestimate Uchiha Shisui just because he's only a few years older than you."

"He is a genius of the Uchiha clan. He has completed eight S-rank missions and over twenty A-rank missions. He is particularly skilled in the Body Flicker Technique and swordsmanship. The enemy nations call him 'Shisui of the Body Flicker.' Learn from him."

Danzo's high praise made Shisui scratch his head, looking a little embarrassed.

"Danzo-sama, you're too kind. I still have a lot to learn."

Danzo gave him a sideways glance, saying nothing.

Learn? What more do you need to learn? Are you planning to become Hokage?

Gengetsu sighed internally and accepted his fate.

"Shisui-senpai, please guide me from now on."

"Gengetsu, can I call you that?" Shisui asked with a friendly smile.

After Gengetsu nodded, Shisui beamed.

"Then don't call me 'senpai.' I'm not that much older than you. Just call me by my name."

Shisui was genuinely pleased.

Last night, when Danzo had summoned him and asked if he was willing to mentor Shimura Gengetsu, he had agreed almost immediately.

Like Uchiha Itachi—no, Itachi learned this from him—Shisui had long stopped viewing problems from just the Uchiha's perspective.

He was thinking in terms of the village, the Hokage, and the bigger picture.

He understood the tensions between the Uchiha and Konoha, especially now.

But unlike the future Itachi, Shisui still believed in resolving the conflict peacefully.

To him, Danzo's request was a signal—a sign that the village still trusted him, an Uchiha, despite everything.

Shimura Gengetsu was Danzo's only heir and already had close Uchiha ties. If Shisui could influence him, perhaps he could indirectly influence Danzo as well.

Even if this failed, it would at least prove his loyalty to Konoha.

[Host has established a Master-Disciple Bond with Uchiha Shisui. Reward received: "Dynamic Vision."]

"Fuse."

As soon as he acknowledged Shisui as his teacher, the system's notification rang. Gengetsu was briefly surprised but accepted the reward.

For a moment, the world slowed down.

Even the wind's movement became visible, its trajectory clear to his eyes.

Then, as quickly as it came, the sensation faded.

Neither Danzo nor Shisui noticed anything unusual.

"You two start training. I have other matters to attend to."

With that, Danzo left the Shimura compound.

However, the Root guards who usually followed him in secret remained behind.

Danzo trusted no one.

Using Shisui, who was still loyal to Konoha, was a way to pacify the Uchiha clan, making them believe the village wasn't planning anything against them.

But he also couldn't let his grandson be influenced or manipulated.

The two Jōnin guards were there as a failsafe—to prevent Shisui from brainwashing Gengetsu or, worse, attacking him outright.

Such was the mind of a politician.

Every move concealed eight layers of ulterior motives.

"Gengetsu, where do you want to start?" Shisui asked kindly as they stood in the courtyard.

"Danzo-sama said you have fire and wind chakra. The Uchiha excel at Fire Style, and I also know sword techniques that complement Fire Style well."

"Shisui, I have something to do in the morning. Can we start training in the afternoon?"

Shisui was surprised but nodded.

"If you want, you can come with me."

"Where to?"

Konoha Orphanage

Half an hour later, Shisui stood at the entrance of a worn-down orphanage, blinking in confusion.

"Konoha Orphanage?"

Gengetsu motioned for him to follow. Behind them, several ninjas carrying large packages entered the building.

The orphanage was small—just a three-story building with a modest courtyard.

Inside, a woman in her thirties with glasses played with a group of small children. She smiled gently, her expression warm and motherly.

When she saw the newcomers, she was momentarily stunned—but quickly walked over to greet them.

"Little one… what brings you here?"

She had immediately noticed that the youngest person in the group was the one in charge.

"Are you Dean Nonō Yakushi?" Gengetsu smiled brightly.

"My name is Shimura Gengetsu. I'm Hiroki's classmate. I heard the orphanage was struggling—sometimes you don't even have enough food—so I brought some supplies."

"Gengetsu!"

A boy of the same age ran over excitedly. His face filled with gratitude upon hearing Gengetsu's words.

However, Gengetsu did not receive a second-stage bond reward.

"So not enough yet, huh?"

Nonō Yakushi's pupils contracted slightly.

But her expression was flawless, her reaction perfectly timed.

"Thank you so much, little Gengetsu," she said, smiling warmly.

"It's nothing," Gengetsu replied cheerfully. "My family has a lot of money to spare."

Nonō's smile twitched.

"A child casually throwing around his family's wealth. The son sells his father's land without remorse."

Meanwhile, Shisui stood in silence, watching Gengetsu carefully.

This small boy—a Shimura, raised by Danzo—was out here… helping orphans?

At such a young age, he was already thinking of others?

A kind-hearted child.

Perhaps this…

Was the Will of Fire.
