Chapter 202: Chapter 202 : Do Things One by One
"If the so-called village means peace that can only be obtained at the cost of shinobi like Itachi… then I don't want that kind of village!"
Obito heard the fury laced in Sasuke's heart, and the corners of his lips curled slightly.
"This world is full of hypocrisy," Obito said calmly. "It's no surprise that a bloody village like that was born. If you can understand this contradiction… then you're already a step ahead."
He stood up and looked at the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
"Madara was the first to see through the world's lies. That's why he deciphered the hidden meaning behind the Uchiha Stone Tablet left by the Sage of Six Paths. And so, he proposed the only true salvation—the Eye of the Moon Plan."
Sasuke's gaze flickered. While he didn't fully agree with the Moon's Eye Plan, the idea of destroying such a hypocritical village and reshaping the world was deeply appealing.
Still, his brow furrowed. "But the Eye of the Moon Plan… is Genjutsu. It's not reality. Would such a world really be... worth it?"
Obito turned toward him, his voice unusually soft, even warm for the first time.
"Think of it this way, Sasuke-kun. In that world… there is no hypocrisy, no hatred, no war. In that perfect Konoha, your parents and the entire Uchiha clan are alive. Your brother, who loves you more than anything, is by your side. He cherishes you, protects you.
"You attend the Academy carefree, and after class, Naruto hangs out with you like an ordinary friend. When you go home, your brother is there to greet you. He listens to everything about your day at the Academy, proud of your every step."
Obito's Sharingan gleamed as he locked eyes with Sasuke.
"So what if that world is just an illusion?"
Sasuke's body stiffened slightly. He turned away, not daring to meet Obito's gaze, afraid the truth in his heart would be exposed.
He was tempted. Deep down, he knew it.
Even if he had forced himself to grow numb—convinced himself that solitude was strength—the world Obito painted was alluring beyond words. It tugged at emotions he thought he'd buried.
"Then let's not waste time!"
Sasuke rose to his feet, looking straight at the Gedo Statue.
"Let's seal the Tailed Beasts already!"
Obito gave a small smirk. "Don't be impatient. The path must be walked step by step, and things must be done one by one."
He tilted his head slightly. "If you try to move too fast, you're more likely to get hurt. Today's been exhausting already, and we've used most of our chakra. At most, we can seal one more Tailed Beast."
Sasuke nodded. "Fine. Which one?"
Obito paused, thinking. "Let's seal the One-Tail. With only one tail, it exerts the least chakra pressure—easier on both of us."
He gestured toward one of the captured Jinchūriki, summoning the body forward. Sasuke blinked in mild surprise.
"Wait… wasn't Gaara the One-Tail's Jinchūriki?"
Obito nodded, retrieving a scalpel from a nearby tray. "Correct. But he was rescued by your good friend Naruto after the Tailed Beast was extracted from him. Without the original Jinchūriki, I had no choice but to revive the previous one."
Sasuke frowned at the elderly body lying in front of them. "This old man?"
Obito nodded again.
Sasuke sighed. "Fine."
And so, the two resumed the process of sealing the Tailed Beasts into the Gedo Statue.
Meanwhile, in the deeper recesses of the hideout, Kabuto sat quietly in front of a Go board. A large map was spread before him, surrounded by hundreds of carefully arranged black and white stones.
He gazed at the game with a faint smile on his lips. "Finally… the real fun begins."
Kabuto had been preparing for this day for years. Night after night, he had dug up graves, collected bodies, and refined his mastery of the Impure World Reincarnation.
His efforts had unearthed not hundreds, but thousands—perhaps tens of thousands—of corpses.
Reviving them one by one was like drawing from a deck of cards. Sometimes he hit the jackpot, summoning legendary shinobi of the past. Other times, he could only bring back nameless fodder. But the harvest was undeniably bountiful.
And now, the time had come to deploy his undead army.
On Naruto's side, after finishing his internal communication with Kurama, he walked out of his room and ascended the tower where his father stood.
Minato turned and smiled as he saw his son approaching.
"Ah, Naruto, you're awake. I stopped by earlier, but you seemed to be resting, so I didn't disturb you."
Naruto scratched his head, slightly embarrassed. He had been so engrossed in his mental conversation with Kurama that he hadn't noticed anything outside.
It also said something about his father's stealth skills—even in death, the Fourth Hokage's infiltration techniques were still top-tier.
"I was talking with Kurama," Naruto explained.
Minato's eyes widened slightly in pleasant surprise.
"Oh? So you two can communicate freely now?"
Naruto nodded. "Yeah. I've lived up to your expectations, Dad. Kurama and I are now completely in sync. We can even enter full-tailed beast mode. Speaking of which—your half of Kurama is still with you, right?"
Minato smiled. "Yes. Back then, I split Kurama's chakra into Yin and Yang. I sealed the Yang half inside you… and the Yin half inside myself."
Naruto grinned, then held up his fist.
"Then let's do it, Dad. Fist bump me."
Minato blinked, confused, but complied.
The moment their fists touched, the surrounding environment shifted. They were no longer in the physical world—they had entered the mental landscape.
Naruto looked behind Minato and grinned.
"Yo, Kurama on that side—it's been a while!"
Minato's eyes widened in astonishment. "This… is the mental plane? Naruto, you actually pulled me in here with you?!"
Naruto chuckled proudly.
The Yin half of Kurama growled. "You loud brat! Shut your mouth! Kurama—you're the one who called me, aren't you?!"
The Yang half of Kurama raised its head and nodded politely to Minato.
"Fourth Hokage. Long time no see."
Minato gave a soft smile. "Yes… it really has been a while, Kurama."
Naruto turned to his Kurama. "Hey, your other half is a lot grumpier than you, huh? Hahaha."
The familiar banter and warmth filled him with ease. It felt just like home.
Yin Kurama glared at the Yang half. "Tch. I can't believe you've gone soft for this kid!"
Yang Kurama snorted. "Weren't you used by the Fourth Hokage too? Let's not pretend you weren't tamed either."
Yin Kurama snarled. "Idiot. We're supposed to be one. Those two—father and son—they're our common enemy, can't you see that?!"
Naruto interrupted with a playful grin. "Come on, don't be angry. Kurama over there, let me feel your chakra a bit."
He closed his eyes and began to absorb Yin Kurama's chakra using the technique his Kurama had just taught him.
Minato was stunned. "Naruto… what are you doing?!"
Yin Kurama's eyes bulged in disbelief. "You brat! How dare you absorb my chakra right in front of me?!"
Naruto remained silent, focused entirely on the chakra transfer.
Yin Kurama roared in fury and turned toward Yang Kurama. "You taught him this, didn't you?! Otherwise, how could he pull chakra from me without my permission?!"
Yang Kurama scratched the back of his head. "I mean… you and I are the same being. Your chakra is my chakra. What's the difference?"
Yin Kurama was speechless. He had vague memories of being this shameless himself—was this really his other half?
"Kid!" he growled. "If you keep sucking chakra like this, you're going to drain your father too! What are you trying to do?!"
Because the Tailed Beast's chakra is linked to the Jinchūriki's vitality, any chakra loss affects the host too.
Naruto looked up nonchalantly and said, "It's fine. My dad is an Edo Tensei. He can't die anyway."
Yin Kurama: "…"
