Naruto: Reborn in His Younger Self

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: The Combat Arrangements of the Coalition Forces

Naruto was frantically extracting chakra from the Yin half of Kurama to store a reserve for himself.

After discussing it with the Yang half of Kurama, they agreed that on the battlefield, the tactical value of having two separated halves of the Nine-Tails might be more beneficial than having one fully combined entity.

After all, based on combat experience from his past life, the cooperation between his father, the Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, and the Second Hokage Tobirama Senju had been incredibly effective. Countless unpredictable variables could arise during the battle, so it was better to maintain flexibility and stay on guard.

Though the Yang half of Kurama had suggested separating for combat efficiency, Naruto did not fully refrain from drawing chakra. He was cautious and chose to extract a portion of the Yin chakra regardless. Ultimately, both halves of Kurama would return to him—it was only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, in the Land of Lightning, inside Kumogakure.

The Five Kage, along with Mifune, leader of the Land of Iron, had convened with a large contingent of shinobi and samurai for the alliance meeting.

The Raikage's council chamber had been renovated and expanded—larger even than the venue used during the previous Five Kage Summit.

This time, since the summit was hosted on Raikage's home turf, he was the first to speak.

"Presumably," Raikage A said in a stern tone, "everyone here has experienced attacks from the Akatsuki in one way or another over the past months."

Aside from Mizukage Mei Terumī and Mifune, who didn't respond, the other four Kage nodded in solemn agreement. Onoki, the elderly Tsuchikage, was especially furious. He slammed the table with his hand.

"Damn Akatsuki! That masked man... what's his name again—Obito? He must be punished!"

Raikage A sympathized with Onoki's anger. Just like Kumogakure, Iwagakure had also suffered Deidara's bombing assaults. The damage to village infrastructure was severe.

"Tsuchikage-sama, please calm down," A said firmly. "There's no need to reiterate how dangerous the Akatsuki are. We should proceed according to the decisions of our previous meeting and officially form the Allied Shinobi Forces.

As for who commands it—it doesn't matter, so long as we can eliminate Obito and put an end to that lunatic Eye of the Moon Plan. I'm sick of sleeping with one eye open, fearing I'll be trapped in some dream world every night!"

Onoki let out a gruff chuckle and commented with a hint of sarcasm, "Raikage-sama, that's quite the concession. You're suddenly showing a great sense of the bigger picture."

Raikage A snorted. "Tsuchikage-sama—likewise."

Then Gaara stood up. Remembering his conversation with Naruto, he spoke without hesitation.

"I propose that I serve as the Field Captain of the Allied Shinobi Forces.

As for the Supreme Commander, I believe Raikage-sama and Tsunade-sama are the most qualified.

Tsuchikage-sama and Mizukage-sama, you two would act as my left and right wings, each responsible for a portion of our frontlines, working together for the victory of the alliance!"

Raikage A was visibly surprised. He hadn't expected Gaara to take such initiative—nor propose such a structured chain of command.

Gaara continued, his tone resolute.

"In terms of raw strength, Raikage-sama is undeniably the strongest among us five Kage. He should be positioned at the heart of our forces and only deployed for the final battle.

Tsunade-sama possesses superior medical ninjutsu and tactical reasoning. She should be stationed in the rear lines—supporting both Raikage-sama and our medical and logistical divisions.

As for myself, I am young. Positioning me at the frontlines will boost morale across our forces. Moreover, I carry battle experience that resonates with the shinobi of our generation. It will foster unity and identity among the troops.

Tsuchikage-sama and Mizukage-sama will each command a section of our armies, ensuring the stability of our left and right wings, respectively.

That is my proposed structure. Now—who agrees, and who opposes?"

The room fell into a stunned silence. Though Gaara was the youngest among them and had the shortest reign as a Kage, his speech was powerful, straightforward, and devoid of any hesitation. It commanded respect.

One by one, each leader gave their approval. No one opposed.

With the consensus reached, the meeting proceeded to operational planning.

Tsunade praised Gaara, impressed. "Kazekage-dono, your foresight is commendable."

Gaara smiled faintly. "A friend of mine helped me refine the idea."

"Oh?" Tsunade raised an eyebrow.

The other Kage exchanged glances. It wasn't hard to guess who that friend was—Naruto Uzumaki.

Thinking of Naruto, Raikage A's thoughts drifted to his younger brother, Killer Bee. Originally, he had insisted on protecting both Naruto and Bee from combat, but now... things had clearly changed.

Naruto's power had grown exponentially. If Obito couldn't touch him, then perhaps Killer Bee would be safest under Naruto's protection. All that remained was to eliminate Obito as a threat to the world.

"I support Kazekage-dono's proposal," Raikage A said, finally acknowledging Gaara's leadership.

Tsunade followed suit. Mei Terumī, the Mizukage, also agreed. Among the Kage, she had the closest political alignment with Tsunade—both being women leaders who had fought hard for their positions.

Mifune, who had remained silent throughout Gaara's speech, nodded in support after seeing the three Kage's agreement.

Onoki, the last holdout, saw no reason to object once everyone else had signed off.

With consensus achieved, Raikage A wasted no time.

He cleared his throat and gestured toward the center of the table. His assistant, Mabui, stepped forward and pressed a switch. A glowing 3D map of the shinobi world projected onto the table's surface.

Holding a long pointer, Mabui addressed the room. "Lords and Lady Kage—please examine this map. The locations marked with red crosses are believed to be enemy strongholds.

The most significant one is a region referred to as the Mountains' Graveyard. It is accessible by land, situated between Amegakure and the former village of Hoshigakure.

Evacuation advisories have been sent to the nations near Amegakure. Based on intel from infiltration units, the enemy's forces are estimated to number around 100,000.

Due to their size, it's expected that only a small segment will attempt a naval route to avoid encirclement."

Mifune narrowed his eyes as he examined the map. "In that case, the timing of our first strike becomes crucial."

Raikage A made a firm decision. "Since we are going on the offensive, we must be swift and deliberate.

We cannot allow the enemy to reach Amegakure and engage Naruto or Killer Bee.

First, we will assemble a surprise attack unit. The remaining units will form into battle companies and prepare to march.

Samui—confirm the formations and initiate deployment!"

Samui bowed. "Yes, sir!"

Tsunade turned to Shikaku Nara. "We'll also need to coordinate the medical corps. Ensure they're supplied with the full set of combat medical kits. Shikaku—coordinate with the intelligence division to finalize data routes."

Shikaku nodded. "Understood."

Mei Terumī turned to her right-hand man. "Chōjūrō, contact Ao of the Sensing Division. Have them accelerate their recon efforts."

One by one, Chōjūrō, Shikaku, and Samui exited the room to carry out their orders.

Raikage A was still debating one last issue. He looked directly at Tsunade.

"Tsunade—I still think it would be best if Naruto and Killer Bee were hidden within the protective barrier we've set up in Kumogakure.

I realize Naruto is incredibly powerful—so perhaps let him remain at the center of our army. But Killer Bee should stay hidden. As long as Obito can't collect all nine Tailed Beasts, his Eye of the Moon Plan can't succeed. That would be the safest option, wouldn't it?"

Tsunade placed her hands on the table, weighing her response carefully. Before she could speak, Gaara spoke again, unwavering.

"I believe in Naruto's strength."

He looked directly at Raikage and Tsunade, his voice clear.

"Naruto doesn't act recklessly. He knows what's at stake. He's already told me everything he intends to do. He said he can join this war. No—he must join it."

Tsunade was slightly stunned. The trust Gaara placed in Naruto was absolute.

And perhaps... well-placed.
