Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Confessions 1
---
The Third Hokage was dead.
Naruto had grown up. The village had changed.
And yet, for Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina, everything felt like it had just happened yesterday.
The weight of time had never been heavier on Minato's shoulders than at this moment. He was a relic of a bygone era, watching a future he had never been a part of.
Naruto looked at his parents and spoke with a reassuring smile. "The current Hokage is Granny Tsunade. Konoha is stable now and thriving."
Minato's lips curled into a small, relieved smile. "Tsunade-sama... So she finally returned to lead the village. That's good to hear."
His eyes softened as he asked, "By the way, what about Jiraiya-sensei? How is he?"
Naruto grinned. "Pervy Sage has been traveling the world as always, gathering information, writing books, and training. But recently, he's been staying in the village, helping Granny Tsunade."
Kushina sighed, shaking her head. "Jiraiya-sensei is such a powerful shinobi. It would have been a waste if he never became Hokage."
Minato chuckled. "Sensei is too free-spirited for that. Leadership was never his goal. He prefers moving on his own terms."
Then, Kushina's sharp gaze suddenly turned toward Naruto, her expression shifting from pride to suspicion. Her eyes narrowed as she leaned in closer.
"Naruto, tell your mother the truth. Did you pick up any of Jiraiya-sensei's bad habits?"
Naruto's mind instantly flashed to certain... questionable moments with Jiraiya.
Like how his master had constantly bugged him to use the Sexy Jutsu to help with his so-called "research" for his novels.
He absolutely couldn't let his mother know about that, or else he wouldn't escape unscathed.
Naruto forced a nervous laugh, scratching the back of his head. "No, no! Of course not! I spent all my time training. Jiraiya-sensei taught me a lot of things—the Rasengan, Summoning Jutsu, even Sage Mode!"
Minato's expression brightened with pride. "Naruto, I noticed you've also learned my Flying Thunder God technique. Was that something Jiraiya-sensei helped you with?"
Naruto hesitated for a split second but quickly nodded. "Y-Yeah! Pervy Sage helped me with everything!"
Kushina's eyes softened as she beamed. "Really? My son has become so powerful! You've even mastered Sage Mode and your father's Flying Thunder God? That's amazing!"
Minato nodded approvingly. "Didn't you see the way he fought Kurama earlier? His execution of ninjutsu was flawless. Naruto is already beyond the level of an elite Jōnin."
Kushina reached out, gently placing a hand on Naruto's face. Her fingers trembled slightly as she gazed at him with motherly pride. "That's right! I sometimes wonder how I even gave birth to such an incredible son!"
Naruto laughed, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.
Ever since he was a child, he had yearned for acknowledgment—for someone to tell him he was doing well. That need for recognition had driven him to chase after the title of Hokage.
But right now, nothing made him happier than receiving praise from his own parents.
However, Minato's expression grew serious.
"Naruto, I have something to ask you."
Naruto blinked, tilting his head. "What's wrong, Dad?"
Minato's gaze was sharp, filled with curiosity and doubt. "Earlier, you said you removed the seal on the Nine-Tails yourself. You also knew in advance that I had hidden your mother's chakra inside the seal. And you deliberately allowed Kurama's hatred to affect you, knowing it would trigger Kushina's chakra. Am I correct?"
As Minato finished speaking, Kushina's eyes widened in shock.
"How is that possible?!" Kushina exclaimed. "Only Minato and I knew about the chakra he sealed inside you! Even the Third Hokage and his Anbu didn't know the details!"
She was right.
During the sealing, the Third Hokage had been present, along with a few Anbu. But only Minato and Kushina knew the intricate details of the Eight Trigrams Seal—specifically, the fail-safes Minato had incorporated.
One of them was his own chakra manifesting when Naruto released the Eight-Tails' power.
Another was Kushina's chakra, which would activate if Naruto ever lost control of his emotions and was consumed by hatred—an extra measure to ensure their son could one day master Kurama's chakra.
But somehow, Naruto had known everything in advance.
That was what shocked Minato the most.
Naruto took a deep breath, exhaling slowly. His blue eyes met his parents' stunned expressions.
"Yeah, I knew. I knew everything. I even know the detailed process of mastering Kurama's chakra. I know how to achieve full tailed beast transformation. Every step of the way—I know it all."
Kushina covered her mouth in disbelief. "How is that even possible...?"
Minato's brows furrowed deeply. His mind raced through possible explanations, but none made sense.
Naruto let out another breath before speaking again.
"I know you're confused. You probably want to ask how I know all of this."
Minato and Kushina remained silent, waiting for his answer.
Naruto gave them a knowing smile. "But compared to that, what I'm about to tell you next is even more shocking. You might not even believe it."
Minato and Kushina exchanged glances.
Naruto's voice grew serious as he declared, "I am Naruto from the future. In that future, I have already befriended Kurama and become a perfect Jinchūriki."
Minato and Kushina stiffened, eyes widening in disbelief.
"What...?" Minato muttered.
Naruto continued, "And according to my past life's events, the Fourth Great Ninja War is about to begin. And Dad... you won't believe who the mastermind behind it is."
Minato clenched his fists. "Who?"
Naruto locked eyes with his father. "Your apprentice—Uchiha Obito."
Minato's body went rigid. "That's... impossible!"
Kushina looked equally stunned. "But Obito died at Kannabi Bridge!"
Naruto shook his head. "No. Obito was trapped under the rubble, but he survived. He was rescued by Uchiha Madara and manipulated into following the Eye of the Moon Plan. After witnessing Rin's death, he completely lost himself. He became the masked man who attacked Konoha the night I was born—the same one who released Kurama and fought you, Dad."
Minato's breath hitched. He staggered slightly as the weight of Naruto's words crashed down on him.
"Obito...?"
Minato had always believed the masked man was either Madara himself or one of his successors.
But to learn that it was his own student—the boy he had mentored, trained, and believed in—was almost too much to process.
Kushina's voice was barely a whisper. "Obito... That bright, kind-hearted boy..."
Minato gritted his teeth, trembling. "No... how could this happen?!"
Naruto looked at his father solemnly. "Dad, I know it's hard to accept. But it's the truth."
Minato's mind raced. He was about to demand proof when Naruto spoke again.
"You left a Flying Thunder God seal on Obito, right?"
Minato's breath caught.
Naruto smirked slightly. "That mark is still there. If you were alive, you could teleport straight to him. That's how you'll know I'm telling the truth."
Minato closed his eyes, exhaling shakily.
Naruto was right.
It was the truth.
And it changed everything.
