Chapter 50: Chapter 50: Farewell
Naruto successfully extracted the Nine-Tails' chakra.
As the fiery orange chakra flowed into his body, a golden light radiated from within him, engulfing his entire form. The once-dormant energy now coursed through his soul, and as his body adapted, the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode emerged.
A golden Naruto was born.
He clenched his fists, feeling the overwhelming warmth and power surging within him. This was a strength unlike any other—a strength that resonated from deep within his heart.
Meanwhile, Kurama, now stripped of his chakra, had undergone a dramatic transformation. His once-magnificent form had withered; his muscles thinned, his complexion sallow, and his massive frame noticeably shrunken.
Trembling, the fox forced himself to stand, glaring at Naruto with wide, disbelieving eyes.
"Naruto! Naruto!! Naruto!!!" Kurama bellowed, his rage shaking the space around them. "You have completely pissed me off! AHHHH!"
His fury roared through the seal, and the very air vibrated with his rage. Despite losing so much of his power, Kurama refused to accept defeat.
Without hesitation, he opened his massive maw, chakra surging violently within him. Dark and sinister energy coalesced, forming the terrifyingly destructive Tailed Beast Ball (Bijūdama).
Minato's eyes widened in surprise. "I didn't expect him to still have enough power to form a Bijūdama after losing such a huge portion of his chakra."
His gaze shifted anxiously toward Kushina, silently asking if the Eight Trigrams Seal (Hakke Fūin) would be enough to contain Kurama's wrath.
Kushina, however, simply smiled. "Don't worry. There's a powerful sealing force inside Naruto."
Sure enough, Naruto remained unfazed. A small smirk formed on his lips as he stared at Kurama.
"Kurama, be patient."
He pressed his left hand against his stomach, directly over his seal. Then, with a swift motion—
He turned the seal.
Immediately, massive red Torii Gates of the Torii Seal (Myōjinmon) materialized in the air, descending from above with unstoppable force. One after another, the divine structures slammed down onto Kurama, suppressing him completely.
The fox roared in pain, his massive limbs pinned beneath the weight of the sealing technique.
The two largest Torii Gates fell last—one crashing down upon Kurama's massive head and the other immobilizing his torso.
His chakra, now entirely sealed, rendered the immense Tailed Beast Ball unstable. The swirling orb of destruction trembled before shattering into harmless fragments of dispersed chakra.
Kurama's breath came in heavy pants, his gaze locked onto the Myōjinmon sealing him in place. His eyes narrowed as realization struck.
"This technique… it's from the Sage of Six Paths…!"
The last remnants of his resistance faded, and his consciousness wavered. Kurama's once-mighty eyelids grew heavy, his immense exhaustion finally overtaking him.
His body, utterly drained, sagged beneath the weight of the seal. Yet, before he succumbed to unconsciousness, he forced his eyes open one last time, his voice a low, menacing growl.
"Remember this, Naruto…!!!"
And then—
Silence.
Kurama's eyes slid shut, his form now completely still.
Naruto sighed, looking down at the sealed beast. His expression held no triumph, only understanding.
"Forgive me, Kurama. Just wait a little longer… I still have something to do here."
With those words, Naruto withdrew from the seal and returned to his Mindscape.
The moment he reappeared, he was greeted by the warm smiles of his parents.
Kushina gave him a thumbs-up, her vibrant red hair swaying as she grinned. "Well done, Naruto!"
Minato, standing beside her, his blue eyes filled with fatherly pride, nodded. "As expected of my son."
Naruto scratched the back of his head, a little embarrassed.
It wasn't often that he heard praise from his parents—whether in his past life or this one. And even though he was much older now, a part of him still craved their approval.
But just as he was reveling in the moment, Kushina's expression suddenly changed.
She glanced at her hands—her fingers, her arms.
They were fading.
Naruto's heart clenched.
"Mom… Dad… are we saying goodbye?"
Minato followed Kushina's gaze and noticed that his body, too, was beginning to disappear. Their chakra had nearly been exhausted.
There wasn't much time left.
Minato turned to Naruto, his expression tinged with regret. His voice softened as he spoke.
"Naruto, I'm sorry. We made you the Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails. We forced you to carry this burden. We left you alone when you needed us the most."
He exhaled shakily, his emotions threatening to overwhelm him. "A father is supposed to protect his child… and I failed to do that. I'm sorry, Naruto."
Naruto's hands trembled as tears welled up in his eyes. But despite his sorrow, he smiled.
"Don't be sorry, Dad."
He stepped forward, wrapping his arms around his father in a firm embrace.
Minato stiffened for a moment, but then, with a heavy breath, he returned the hug.
Naruto patted his father's back and continued, his voice filled with unwavering conviction.
"I understand everything now. I know why you did what you did. And I'm not bitter about it. In fact, I'm grateful. Because of you and Mom, I grew up strong. Because of you, I can stand here today and protect those I love."
His grip on Minato tightened. "I may have been lonely at times… but I was never unloved."
Minato's body trembled. The strong, composed Fourth Hokage could no longer hold back his emotions.
His tears fell freely.
"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry, Naruto… my son… my precious son…"
Kushina, watching this raw exchange, felt her own tears fall. She no longer held back.
She rushed forward, embracing both her husband and son.
"Naruto," she whispered, her voice filled with overwhelming emotion. "Thank you for being our son. Thank you for letting me be your mother. Thank you for letting Minato be your father."
Naruto clenched his eyes shut, savoring the warmth of their embrace, knowing it wouldn't last.
And then—
Their forms began to dissolve into golden light.
Minato and Kushina held onto him as long as they could, their bodies slowly dispersing into countless shimmering particles.
Naruto felt their warmth slipping away, but he didn't open his eyes. He couldn't.
He didn't want to see them go.
But in the end, they did.
The golden light drifted into the vast nothingness, fading… fading… until it was gone.
Naruto stood there, unmoving. His hands, which had just been holding onto them, slowly fell to his sides.
A deep silence enveloped him.
And then—
A single tear slid down his cheek.
He closed his eyes, letting his tears fall freely, silently mourning the parents he had finally gotten to meet… only to lose them again.
