Chapter 49: Chapter 49: Capturing the Nine-Tails' Chakra
Minato and Kushina sighed, exchanging glances.
Neither of them had expected the future of the shinobi world to become so chaotic. The sheer weight of what Naruto had told them—wars, the revival of Madara, and the emergence of an even greater enemy—was overwhelming.
Breaking the silence, Kushina looked at her son with curiosity. "Naruto, you said you traveled back in time. But why did your future self choose to return?"
Hearing this, Naruto's expression turned solemn. His eyes darkened as he recalled the horrifying events that had led to his desperate journey through time.
"Because," Naruto began, his voice heavy, "the Ōtsutsuki—the alien clan I told you about—returned to this world. Their goal was to drain the planet of its chakra, reducing everything to nothing."
Minato's face turned serious, but before he could say anything, Kushina's eyes gleamed with excitement as she caught onto something else.
"Wait a second, Naruto." She leaned forward eagerly. "Did you just say your son sent you back in time? You have a kid? Hahaha! That means you got married! Tell me, who's the lucky girl?"
Minato, despite his grave expression, couldn't help but smile at Kushina's enthusiasm. It was true—no joy could compare to knowing that their son had grown up, found love, and started a family.
Naruto scratched the back of his head, his face slightly red. "Uh… yeah. I married Hyūga Hinata. She's the eldest daughter of the Hyūga Clan. She's liked me since we were kids, but I was too dense to realize it at first. I finally confessed to her when I was around twenty, and we got married soon after."
Kushina clapped her hands together in delight. "Hyūga Hinata, huh? A lady from the prestigious Hyūga Clan! She must be beautiful! Oh, Naruto, you really have good taste! And you even have a son!"
Naruto chuckled softly, his heart warming at the thought of his family. "Not just a son, Mom. I also have a daughter—Himawari. She's as kind and beautiful as you."
Kushina's laughter echoed through the space. "Really?! So I have a grandson and a granddaughter? Twins, right? Hahaha!"
Minato chuckled at Kushina's excitement. "You're so happy, you're practically jumping."
Naruto smiled, imagining how much Himawari and Boruto would have loved to meet their grandparents. He had no doubt that Kushina would have spoiled them endlessly.
But as the family basked in their brief moment of joy, Kushina's expression suddenly turned serious.
"It seems that happy moments never last long."
Naruto and Minato looked at her, already knowing what she meant.
Kushina took a deep breath, her voice steady. "Naruto, my chakra is nearly exhausted from suppressing the Nine-Tails. You have to act quickly."
Naruto's smile faded, replaced by determination. He wished he could stay here forever, talking with his parents, but he knew there was no other choice. He had to move forward.
"I understand."
Minato's gaze softened as he looked at his son. He could see the strength in him—the confidence of a shinobi who had surpassed even the greatest Hokage before him.
As Naruto's consciousness withdrew, he returned to the vast, red-hued space of the seal.
Slowly, he opened his eyes, still thinking about the brief but precious moments he had spent with his parents. His lips curled into a small smile.
Kurama, the Nine-Tails, growled at the sight. "What the hell are you grinning about, brat?"
Naruto turned to face him, his smile unfazed. "I just remembered something nice."
Kurama narrowed his eyes. "Tch. Whatever."
Naruto stepped forward, standing tall before the mighty beast. "Alright, Kurama. It's time to settle this once and for all."
The fox's crimson eyes widened slightly in surprise. Then, he scowled. "You think you can just take my chakra like that? Even with Kushina's chakra suppressing me, you shouldn't be able to erase my hatred so easily."
Naruto grinned, forming a hand seal. "I already told you—I came from the future. I've changed people with more hatred than you. And I'll keep doing it, Kurama. I'll change everyone with love."
Kurama's ears twitched. "Love? You think love will tame me, boy?"
Naruto's smirk deepened. "No. That's why I'm going to force you first."
Kurama barely had time to react before Naruto moved.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
Hundreds of Naruto's clones appeared instantly, surrounding Kurama. Some prepared for battle, while others moved into position for their next attack.
Kurama bared his fangs. "Damn brat… Here we go again!"
With a roar, the Nine-Tails pulled against the chains binding him, using every ounce of his strength.
"CRACK!"
The chains snapped apart.
Minato, observing from within Naruto's soul, tensed. "Kushina."
Kushina's expression hardened. "As expected of the Nine-Tails. Even after all this time, he still has the power to break free… But I'm not just going to sit back!"
She clenched her fists, and new chains erupted from the seal, wrapping tightly around Kurama's legs. The fox was pulled off balance and crashed onto the ground.
Naruto saw the opening. "Now's my chance!"
The clones charged, their hands glowing with swirling blue orbs.
"Sage Art: Super Rasengan Barrage!"
Kurama's eyes widened in horror as massive Rasengans came crashing down upon him.
"Damn you, brat!" Kurama snarled, raising a massive claw to strike back.
But Naruto was already one step ahead. His clones seized the chakra chains, pulling against Kurama's form like a tug-of-war.
"Almost there!" Naruto gritted his teeth.
Kushina cheered. "You're close, Naruto! Just a little more!"
Minato remained silent, watching carefully. He had no doubt that his son would succeed—Naruto had already proven himself.
"Alright, this should do it!"
Naruto's Sage Mode activated once again, orange pigment appearing around his eyes.
He held out both hands, forming two massive spiraling orbs.
"Wind Style: Rasenshuriken!"
The two Rasenshuriken hummed violently in his hands, their energy crackling in the air.
Kurama, panting from the barrage, barely lifted his head before Naruto struck.
"Kurama, it's over!"
Naruto hurled both Rasenshuriken straight at the fox.
"CHIRP! CHIRP!"
The twin Rasenshuriken collided with Kurama's chest, exploding into enormous vortexes of wind that tore through his body.
Kurama let out a thunderous roar as he was sent skidding backward.
And then—
"NOW!"
Naruto's clones pulled with all their might, finally ripping a massive, fiery mass of chakra from Kurama's body.
The glowing, fox-shaped chakra hovered in the air before being absorbed into Naruto.
Kushina, watching the battle unfold, jumped into Minato's arms, wrapping her legs around his waist in excitement. "He did it! Naruto did it!"
Minato chuckled, holding her close. "Yeah… He really did."
Naruto exhaled deeply, sweat dripping down his forehead. He looked up at the weakened form of Kurama, who was breathing heavily.
"See, Kurama? I told you—I'd win."
Kurama growled, but there was no hatred in his voice this time. "Tch… Damn brat…"
Naruto grinned. "Don't worry. You'll get used to me."
And with that, the seal's space began to fade, signaling Naruto's complete dominance over the Nine-Tails' chakra.
