"A marriage arrangement?"

Meide exploded immediately. He stood up furiously, glaring at Kazushi. "I've been putting up with you for a long time! Don't think we Hyuga are like you shameless Uchiha!"

This furious shout shocked everyone present—they never expected Meide, normally so gentle and affable, to unleash such an imposing aura.

"Shameless Uchiha? Don't act like you're better than us when we're giving you respect!" countered Kazushi without flinching. "My son's a good kid—what could he possibly want with your daughter? We only brought this proposal out of consideration for our two clans' friendship. Are you trying to destroy the peace between us on purpose?"

Meide rolled up his sleeves, fully enraged now. "Old fool, don't push me! If you dare, let's settle this outside—man to man!"

"Bring it on! You think I'm afraid of an old relic like you?" Kazushi retorted, immediately rising to the challenge with complete disregard for how serious things could get.

The two men kept hurling abuse at each other with increasing intensity, and even their subordinates joined in, shouting loudly as well.

The Third Hokage was already feeling a headache coming on as he watched both sides exchange bitter words. Right now, he seemed to be the only impartial person in the room. If he didn't do something soon, his meeting chamber might not survive this confrontation.

The Third Hokage quickly stood up to mediate. "Ahem! Everyone, please calm down! You're both clan leaders—you shouldn't behave like children throwing tantrums just because things got heated. For my sake, can't we all show some restraint?"

"Hmph!" ×2

Kazushi and Meide each shot disdainful snorts at one another.

Of course, they both had to give face to the Hokage—otherwise, how could they continue living peacefully within the village?

But here were two matured clan heads, hurling accusations at each other over what was essentially a minor issue. This scene was undeniably surreal—a clear sign that theirs truly was a bizarre world.

"I swear, these two are nothing but children," thought the Third Hokage inwardly.

Thankfully things hadn't gotten worse. Otherwise, he—Konoha's supreme leader—would've had to step in personally, making an even bigger mess of things.

Outside Hokage Tower, both factions were still exchanging insults.

"Old relic, old geezer—you'd better watch yourself!"

After throwing those threats around, the two clan leaders left in opposite directions with their respective followers.

"Finally got rid of those two big headaches!" the Third Hokage exhaled deeply as he saw them off.

If this happened every day, life wouldn't be worth living. It looked like the Uchiha and Hyuga might cause trouble for Konoha recently.

Once the matter was settled, he hurried back into his office, having a hunch today's edition of the Konoha Daily would bring its own kind of chaos.

"Whoa!"

Back inside his office, the Third barely caught his breath after spotting the newspaper headlines.

Konoha Daily:

"Uchiha-Hyuga Reconciliation for the Ages? See How Members from Both Clans Get Along So Well!", "What Made This Uchiha Boy and Hyuga Girl the Unlikeliest of Friends?", "Which Clan Really Is the Strongest in Konoha?"

Flipping through the paper, the Third finally found the report about the Ninja Academy fire hidden away in a tiny corner.

Putting the newspaper down, the Third Hokage felt utterly exhausted. He didn't even need to think—he already knew the Uchiha was behind this chaos.

This scene was a perfect replica of what happened at the Senju household before. It seemed like the Uchiha and Hyuga families were destined to become bitter enemies too.

"Damn it! I knew that old man wasn't good news!"

Back at the Hyuga clan compound, Meide was still fuming with rage.

"What's wrong, Father? It's rare for you to get so angry," asked the two Hyuga brothers cautiously.

"That damned old creep Uchiha Kazushi! Such a shameless old bastard!"

The two brothers dared not respond. Even their usually poised and dignified father was furious now. Whoever this guy was, he must be really tough.

"What is this?" Meide noticed the newspaper in Nisai's hands.

Hiashi immediately sensed trouble. But before he could stop him, Meide had already snatched it away.

"I've never seen such an audacious person!" After reading the paper, Meide became even angrier.

"Where's Nayou?" Meide realized one of the key figures was missing from the room.

"She went to the family training grounds early this morning."

Still enraged, Meide quickly stormed toward the training field.

"Brother Hiashi, do you think something has happened to Nayou?" Nisai might be the strong silent type, but he genuinely cared about his younger sister.

"Don't worry, Nisai. Father would never lay a hand on her. Still, let's go check things out ourselves."

And with that, the Hyuga brothers followed closely behind.

"That ancient fossil isn't worth spit—he's just a smiling fox waiting to pounce! (a person who looks kind on the outside but hides ill intentions)" In the Uchiha compound, Kazushi was complaining bitterly to a young genius inspecting the factory production line.

"Listen here, Shen! You must cut all ties with that Hyuga girl!"

Meanwhile back at the training ground, Meide had just issued similar instructions to Nayou.

"But Father, he's my very first friend!" Nayou coldly objected.

"Don't give me that look! If anyone's to blame, it's that old fool trying to play Cupid when he's nothing more than a toad eyeing a swan!

"That arrogant relic looked down on us Uchihas too! My son is a genius who awakened his Sharingan at only five years old!"

Shen stood there completely speechless. How did things end up like this?

"Just wanted to annoy that stubborn old man a bit, didn't expect him to refuse such a golden opportunity!"

"Father, no..." Nayou's voice began trembling slightly.

Meide remained unmoved: "What difference does it make if he's a Sharingan genius at age five? Either way, I forbid you two from being friends!"

"Just calm down, old man."

"Calm down? Don't talk nonsense to me! Listen up, Shen—if you still consider me your father, then break off completely with that girl!" Kazushi slammed his fist, finalizing his decision.

At that moment, both Shen and Nayou felt an absurd sense of irony—how could they become friends only to turn into enemies so soon?

Maybe it wasn't quite that bad yet, but getting both clans to get along peacefully didn't look easy now. Maybe they should take advice from Hashirama and Madara?

That night, deep beneath Konoha, Zetsu reported recent developments to Madara inside an underground chamber.

"Oh? The boy has awakened his Sharingan already? And it's a double-tomoe Sharingan!" This information subtly changed Madara's normally expressionless face.

"Yes, Lord Madara. Furthermore, the Uchiha's marriage proposal was rejected by the Hyuga, and the scene was truly something to behold!"

After listening to Zetsu's account, Madara smirked coldly. "The modern Uchiha are truly pathetic! Just a girl from the Hyuga clan—back in my time, I would've taken her by force already!"

"So then, Lord Madara, why didn't you just capture Hashirama Senju during your era?"

Upon hearing this question, Madara's lips twitched slightly. Was it that he hadn't wanted to? No—it wasn't that he didn't want to; he simply couldn't, thanks to Hashirama's overwhelming power!

Seeing no reply, Zetsu continued, "Then shall I capture that Hyuga girl for you?"

"No need. Let things unfold naturally."

Madara decided to observe further Shen, the future executor of his plan. He still had the patience to wait.

"Understood, Lord Madara. I'll take my leave now."

As Zetsu departed, Madara gazed silently at the dark ceiling of the space, his left eye distant as if revisiting memories long buried.

"This ninja world shaped by Hashirama remains unchanged since his time—because of long-standing family feuds, even children can't become ordinary friends. Such a world must be reborn anew—and I shall be the one to bring it into being."

At that moment, the underground chamber echoed with Madara's low murmurings, like self-directed whispers reverberating through the darkness.
