Naruto : Sequence 0 Visionary

Chapter 260: Chapter 259 : Doubts about the Night of Genocide!!

The plan for the reincarnation of Indra and Ashura was, of course, devised by 'Adam'.

Out of some twisted sense of amusement, he finally achieved the goal from his previous life. Indeed, the true orthodox main relationship of Naruto should have been Naruto and Sasuke!

Forget about Hinata and Sakura; they were all part of some cult!

As for Indra's gender, changing from brother to sister, that was just a small, insignificant issue.

The Sage of Six Path must have been pleased to see that the centuries-old feud between these two brothers would finally come to an end.

After leaving the noisy nursery, the Sage of Six Path reported everything that had happened to 'Adam' through a prayer ritual. Then, he disappeared once more, returning to the Pure Land.

Dawn had finally arrived.

A ray of morning light pierced through the night, and the warm sunlight fell upon the ruins.

Ninjas were busy, searching for survivors who had been buried under the rubble in the disaster from the previous night.

People were doing what they could to save as many lives as possible.

The Konoha hospital had been destroyed and would have to be rebuilt elsewhere to accommodate the injured from the war.

"How are you feeling, old man?"

Jiraiya sat in a hospital room, visiting the severely injured Sarutobi Hiruzen. His expression was a bit complicated.

In the past, he had felt deeply disappointed with the events in Konoha and his teacher's series of political measures.

Eventually, he had become disillusioned and shifted his life's focus to finding the Child of Prophecy who could change the world, as foretold by the Great Toad Sage.

Until last night, his feelings towards Sarutobi Hiruzen had slightly changed.

The old man lay in the hospital bed, his body wrapped in bandages, with several broken bones. But it was all worth it, because during the chaos of the Nine-Tails' rampage, he had single-handedly held the beast at bay until Minato and he arrived to reseal the beast inside Naruto.

That night, Sarutobi Hiruzen's reputation reached its peak once again.

"You came back... that's good."

Sarutobi was seriously injured, but it didn't stop him from speaking: "Konoha really needs you right now, Jiraiya."

"Stop right there." Jiraiya crossed his arms, making a gesture of refusal. "I know what you're going to say—I'm not up for it, I can't do it, find someone else!"

His three refusals left Sarutobi speechless, his eyelid twitching. After a long pause, he sighed and pointed to a table nearby, irritated. "Go, get my pipe. These nurses are watching me too closely, they won't even give me a chance."

"Old man, can you smoke a little less?"

Jiraiya looked reluctant but still handed over the pipe obediently. "You're old, and you've been seriously injured. Aren't you afraid you'll die if you keep smoking?"

"Stop talking nonsense. Not smoking would make me die."

Sarutobi took the pipe, lit it, and took a deep drag, finally speaking. "How's the investigation into the Uchiha clan going?"

When the serious topic came up, Jiraiya stopped his playful attitude and spoke in a low voice. "The entire clan... there are only two people left. I've checked the bodies, and it's hard to believe that a five-year-old child could do this on their own."

"What do you mean?"

Sarutobi furrowed his brow, smoking heavily, and looked out of the window of the hospital room without finishing his sentence.

"According to Uchiha Shisui's intel, aside from him and the newborn child, there's one person still alive." Jiraiya sighed deeply, his tone strangely serious as he uttered a name. "Uchiha Mikoto disappeared on the night of the massacre."

"The Nine-Tails incident wasn't caused by Uchiha Obito alone."

Recalling the Sharingan he saw in the Nine-Tails' eyes last night, Sarutobi's mood grew heavier. "The ability to control the Nine-Tails... I can only think of one person who could do that."

"But that person is dead," Jiraiya knew exactly who Sarutobi meant—Uchiha Madara, the former founding figure of Konoha, the shinobi world's demon. But that was impossible, because Madara had died long ago in battle with the First Hokage.

"Yes, so…" Sarutobi Hiruzen closed his eyes, and after a long pause, he slowly said, "Seal all information about the 'Uchiha Massacre Night,' classify it as S-rank."

"Alright. Is there anything else?"

Jiraiya casually sat on the edge of the bed. "Once we're done here, I'll be leaving soon."

"Can't you stay a little longer?" Sarutobi Hiruzen asked helplessly. Why wouldn't his disciple want to stay?

"I'm afraid not, old man." Jiraiya sighed and raised his hands in a shrug. "I have too much to do, and there are more important matters."

"More important than Konoha?" Sarutobi Hiruzen asked.

"Perhaps, yes." Jiraiya nodded, his expression serious. "Old man, there have been huge changes in the ninja world that you don't know about. I need to investigate where these changes are coming from. This matter is far more important than Konoha."

"Alright, I understand."

Sarutobi Hiruzen had no choice but to give up on keeping Jiraiya there. After thinking for a moment, he added, "In that case, as your sensei, I'll assign you a secret mission."

"What mission?"

Jiraiya didn't refuse; after all, the more tasks there were, the less he felt bothered by them.

"Find Uchiha Mikoto and investigate the truth behind the Night of the Uchiha Massacre."

Sarutobi Hiruzen extinguished the tobacco in his pipe and put it down, his face serious. "But remember, don't let anyone else know about this. Understood?"

"Why not have Uchiha Shisui investigate it?" Jiraiya asked, puzzled. It would make more sense for a member of the Uchiha clan to handle this, so why was he the one being sent?

"I can't trust him."

Sarutobi Hiruzen's reasoning was simple, but direct.

Uchiha Shisui was Mikoto's disciple. If he said he had nothing to do with the incident, it would be hard for anyone to believe.

So, Sarutobi Hiruzen had no choice but to send someone who was an "outsider" to Konoha—someone who wasn't tied to the Uchiha clan—to investigate the Night of the Massacre and Uchiha Mikoto's involvement.

"My intuition tells me that this situation is far more complicated than it seems," Sarutobi Hiruzen said, furrowing his brows and sighing deeply. "The mysteries are piling up, and I have a bad feeling a storm is about to hit. We need to prepare in advance."

After their conversation ended, several days passed before Jiraiya left the village.

As for Minato Namikaze, after losing his wife, he was devastated. He entrusted Naruto to Sarutobi Hiruzen's care and, in honor of his late wife Kushina, used her surname to name the child "Uzumaki Naruto." After doing so, he left Konohagakure.

Soon after, news of the Kyuubi incident in Konoha, along with the massacre of the Uchiha clan, spread throughout the entire ninja world.

A five-year-old boy had single-handedly slaughtered a powerful ninja clan, shocking the entire world of shinobi.

Many began to refer to him as the "Clan Killer Uchiha," calling him the most ruthless rogue ninja in history.

His bounty was placed on the underground bounty board, a staggering 350 million ryo—ranking first, leaving all other bounties far behind.

By the way, the bounty on the Clan Killer Uchiha was equivalent to ten times that of Asuma's.
