Naruto : Sequence 0 Visionary

Chapter 261: Chapter 260 : The Last Meeting!!

In a grand and imposing structure, resembling an eternal Corpse Cathedral, a figure sat solemnly on a tall bronze bench. This figure seemed to possess countless faces, created by the overlapping appearances of all beings, emanating an endless aura of authority.

Looking around, confirming the status of each soul-linking oil lamp, Uchiha Sogetsu made his decision. He gently raised his right hand.

The figure holding a brass oil lamp, accompanied by the subtle waves of the Sea of Collective Subconscious, caused illusory figures to be drawn into the deepest layer of the dream.

Among them were members of the Twilight Hermit Order: Orochimaru, White Fang, Konan, Onoki, Uchiha Mikoto, the Sage of Six Paths, and others.

This meeting was sudden, so much so that the summoned members seemed both confused and surprised. While they had all experienced being summoned before, it usually had a reason behind it or they were informed in advance.

But this time, being summoned all at once gave them a sense that something was different.

Orochimaru, feeling an unsettling tension, glanced toward the high seat. The others, nearly in unison with him, also felt uneasy and looked at the towering seat, seemingly waiting for 'Adam' to reveal the mystery.

Finally, under Orochimaru's lead, everyone greeted the figure in the high seat.

Uchiha Sogetsu lightly tapped the bronze table, a gesture in return for their greetings.

Once everyone had seated themselves, he gazed at the sides of the table, his voice low and calm: "The reason I have gathered you is to discuss a few matters. Additionally, I may disappear for some time in the near future."

Upon hearing these words, a sense of unease filled the hearts of those present. It felt as though the foreboding anxiety had finally come true.

Though surprised, they remained calm. Perhaps, after witnessing so many unbelievable events over the past three years, and having experienced countless things beyond logic since joining the Twilight Hermit Order, they were no longer the same people they once were.

"Mr. Adam, may I ask where you will be going?" Orochimaru asked, adjusting his posture and speaking with a respectful tone, voicing what was on everyone's mind.

In their eyes, 'Adam' was omnipotent. He seemed to have never shown any weakness, and had always been this way. They believed he would continue to be this way in the future.

But now, that all-powerful 'Adam' had said, "I need to leave for a while," which left the members of the Twilight Hermit Order curious about what could have caused Adam to say such a thing.

"I will go to the starry sky to face some ancient existences that are 'Above The Sequences,'" Uchiha Sogetsu maintained a calm tone and said, "There is a threat related to 'the apocalypse' there, and I must stop it, at least delay it for a while."

The phrase "Above the Sequences" caused the members of the Twilight Hermit Order to show expressions of shock.

Their understanding of the 'sequences' was still limited to the 'Blasphemy Slate,' with Sequence 0 at the top. But now, from Adam's words, they learned that above Sequence 0, the true gods, there were still ancient existences Above the Sequences!

It became clear to Orochimaru, who now looked up in awe and excitement.

Adam was not a "true god," but rather an ancient existence Above the Sequences!

It should be so!

It was meant to be so!

Exactly!

Orochimaru still remembered the myth Adam had told, in which He was born from "the Beginning," and thus must be an ancient existence that surpasses the sequences, one that stands above the true gods!

Unlike Orochimaru, who was focused on this revelation, Sage of the Six Paths was more concerned with Adam's mention of the 'apocalypse.'

"Mr. Adam, is the apocalypse you speak of related to the moon?" The Sage of the Six Paths immediately guessed that Adam's disappearance had something to do with 'that thing' on the moon.

"No, there's more than one thing spying on this planet."

Uchiha Sogetsu spoke with deep, mysterious words, which sent fear and dread through everyone present.

Although it was a lie, it didn't stop him from scaring them, considering he had already made so many enemies, a few more wouldn't matter.

Clearly, everyone was shaken by this news, especially the Sage of the Six Paths, whose already pale complexion became even more so. This was because, compared to the others, he understood better just how terrifying the weight of the words "Above the Sequences" really was.

At first, it was just a name, yet it almost drove him to madness.

And now, such terrifying existences are not just one, but several, all watching this planet.

The Sage of Six Paths revealed a bitter expression: "I don't know whether I should feel relieved or sorrowful. Out of all the countless stars in the endless sky, why is it that only our planet is so special?"

In response, Uchiha Sogetsu did not answer, or rather, he didn't need to answer.

Sometimes, silence is the best response, because there are others who will provide the explanation for him.

"I guess it has to do with 'Mr. Adam' and the 'True Creator,'" Orochimaru mused, recalling the myth Adam had mentioned, about the two wills born from the 'Original Creator'. It all clicked together.

Uchiha Sogetsu subtly cast an appreciative glance.

Having a subordinate like Orochimaru was sometimes extremely useful. For example, now, he didn't need to say anything himself. Orochimaru perfectly explained everything.

Tap tap.

The sound of fingers lightly tapping the bronze table broke their thoughts. Uchiha Sogetsu continued: "During my absence, meetings will be held on the 15th of each lunar month. You can still use this place for secret gatherings."

"As you wish, Mr. Adam," everyone responded.

"The second matter concerns the Aurora Order. You can continue your investigation, but be cautious."

Uchiha Sogetsu paused for a moment before adding, "If you encounter any problems, you can try 'praying' to me. If necessary, I will respond."

He stressed the word "necessary," making it clear that unless it was urgent, they shouldn't disturb him.

"Understood, Mr. Adam. We won't bother you unless absolutely necessary," Orochimaru immediately took the lead in assuring, with the rest following suit.

"This gathering ends here."

Uchiha Sogetsu leaned back in his chair, slowly closing his eyes and issuing the order to dismiss the guests.

"Your will is our wish."

Members of the Twilight Hermit Order took one last look at the tall figure before leaving, burying their unease deep inside.

After watching all the members leave, Uchiha Sogetsu sat alone in the Corpse Cathedral. After a brief moment of silence, he reached out toward the ocean of his subconscious.

A formless, ethereal consciousness soon manifested in the hall. It was a woman with wine-red long hair—Kushina Uzumaki.

Kushina's eyes were unfocused, clearly in a hypnotic state.

Before her death, Kushina's consciousness was preserved by Sogetsu through the manipulation of the Sea of Collective Subconscious.

However, he did not intend for her to join the Twilight Hermit Order. Instead, he merged her consciousness deep into Naruto Uzumaki's subconscious mind.

One day in the future, when necessary, Kushina would awaken from within Naruto's body.

"Consider it a small indulgence," Sogetsu said with a faint smile, fulfilling a wish from his past life.
