Naruto : Shisui Uchiha & Gacha in multiverse

Chapter 14: Ghost Through the Grass

Now that the preparations were complete, Shisui moved.

He used Body Flicker, pushing his speed to the limit. Infiltration wasn't something he could afford to fumble. The boundary, a critical threshold, rapidly entered his range.

His fingers moved in a blur.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu."

A single physical clone materialised beside him. Without wasting momentum, it sprinted forward, acting as a makeshift platform, like the front carriage of a speeding train.

The moment the clone slowed, Shisui leapt onto its shoulders, using its solid frame as a springboard to hurl himself high into the air.

He soared in a smooth arc, clearing the boundary with practiced precision, never once touching the wall. The maneuver wasn't just flair; it was calculated and deliberate. During his earlier investigation, he had uncovered explosive tags carefully hidden along the perimeter. A single misstep, and the entire infiltration would have gone up in flames.

Landing on the other side with the grace of a falling leaf, Shisui crouched low, vanishing into the underbrush before any sentries could react.

"Shadow Clone Jutsu."

He created two more shadow clones. They immediately split up, one moving left and the other right to gather intelligence.

He could have made more, but his existing injuries were still healing, and any additional clones would take a significant toll on his body.

Soon, he reached the center of the village, skillfully avoiding detection by any shinobi.

Though the village wasn't as large or prosperous as Konoha, the villagers still wore smiles. Life within the walls, despite its limitations, was far preferable to the chaos outside.

His thoughts turned to Karin. "Her mom used her body to heal," he mused. "If she's dead, they should be using Karin." With that hypothesis, he decided to begin his search for her near the hospital.

"But where's their hospital?" he muttered, frowning. He was just about to expand the range of his radar sense when he suddenly paused.

There, just now. A clone had dispersed.

Its memories rushed into him in an instant. One of those memories included the location of the hospital.

Without wasting a second, Shisui shifted direction, adjusting his trajectory with seamless precision. His form blurred, an afterimage slicing through the treeline as he made a direct line for the hospital.

Landing silently on a sturdy branch just outside the area, he paused.

Then, he focused.

The world expanded in his mind's eye, not through vision but through sheer sensory mapping. His radar sense activated, detailing everything within range: the swaying of trees, the heartbeat rhythm of resting dogs, the shifting weight of shinobi on patrol, the hum of life within the hospital. Walls no longer mattered. Structures were transparent. Movement, shape, and subtle vibrations fed him a complete picture.

Then, his attention narrowed.

A modest home off to the hospital's side drew his interest. Inside were two figures, one tall, one small. Not unique in itself—there were others in similar setups nearby—but this one stood out.

Because the older woman turned her head.

She turned toward him.

Not vaguely. Not in passing.

Her movements were precise, too precise.

As if she was staring straight through buildings, trees, and shadows, right at him.

Shisui didn't flinch, but he stilled completely.

Coincidence? Possibly.

But his instincts whispered otherwise.

Her reaction wasn't random. It was aware.

And that awareness told him everything he needed to know.

Shisui moved again, this time slower.

He couldn't afford recklessness now.

The number of shinobi in this area was noticeably higher than in the rest of the village. Their movements weren't chaotic, but organised, disciplined enough to make any direct approach dangerous.

So he adjusted.

Instead of heading straight toward the hut, he veered off, drifting left and widening his path into a long, calculated semicircle around the hospital. Each step was light, each jump timed to avoid line of sight and sound.

He kept his radar sense active at all times, scanning constantly. Walls, streets, patrolling guards—they meant nothing to him now. His perception cut through them all.

A straight line might have been faster, but it would have dragged too much attention.

And Shisui wasn't here to fight.

Not unless he had to.

Eventually, the hut came back into range.

He paused again, scanning carefully.

Still just the same two inside.

Good.

The older woman hadn't reported anything. The shinobi stationed nearby hadn't moved an inch. No shift in formations. No alarms.

Shisui's focus narrowed.

Two shinobi had been discreetly placed near the hut. Not hidden. Not even trying to be.

Without hesitation, Shisui moved in. A kunai in each hand.

Within a minute, two bodies hit the ground, blood pooling from open throats, dark and silent. They hadn't even managed to scream.

Just Chūnin.

Nothing more than warm-up.

He crouched beside them, sealing their corpses into a scroll with practiced hands.

Then, with swift hand seals, two shadow clones formed and took on their appearances. Perfect replicas.

Let them stand there and keep pretending.

Now, Shisui turned his gaze toward the door of the hut.

She was waiting.

He could feel her eyes on him through the wall, watching.

The younger one too, positioned beside her like a protective shadow.

Ready to act.

"Let's see how this goes," he muttered.

Then he stepped forward and opened the door.
