Naruto: Starting with Infinite Chakra

Chapter 34: Chapter 34: I Didn’t Mean It, You Have to Believe Me

"Finally… success!"

Tsunade couldn't hide her excitement. As long as she could successfully create one shadow shuriken, with consistent practice, splitting more would naturally become easier. And with her monstrous strength, the added power behind her shuriken throws would be nothing short of terrifying.

"I told you, there's nothing this genius can't do," Jiraiya declared smugly, glancing at Tsunade. Teaching her was far harder than mastering the Shadow Shuriken Clone Jutsu himself.

The stars now blanketed the night sky. They had been training nonstop from morning until now.

"You've finally mastered the jutsu! We should celebrate with a hug!" Jiraiya grinned and, without waiting for Tsunade's reply, stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her.

For a moment, Jiraiya froze. He could feel two incredibly soft things pressing against his chest—it was heavenly. All the exhaustion and effort of teaching her suddenly felt worth it.

"Soft, aren't they?" Tsunade's voice carried a teasing edge.

"Very soft," Jiraiya blurted out without thinking.

"Jiraiya… are you looking to die?"

In an instant, Tsunade's aura turned menacing, killing intent radiating off her in waves. She shoved him away forcefully, her eyes sharp and deadly.

"Tsunade, calm down! I was just so thrilled you mastered the jutsu that I acted on impulse. I swear I wasn't trying to take advantage of you! You have to believe me!" Jiraiya stammered, hastily explaining.

Tsunade tilted her head slightly, the murderous aura vanishing as she gave him a sweet smile.

"We're comrades, so of course, I'll believe you."

Jiraiya let out a sigh of relief—but it was short-lived. His expression shifted the moment Tsunade's chakra surged to life.

Tsunade roared, her figure turning into a blur as she charged at Jiraiya.

"Earth Style: Earth-Style Wall!"

Jiraiya's reaction was swift. Slamming his palms into the ground, he funneled earth-nature chakra into the terrain, raising a sturdy wall before him.

"Boom!"

The wall crumbled into rubble as Tsunade's strike shattered it effortlessly, a cloud of dust billowing around them.

"Jiraiya, I'm going to knock you into next week!" Tsunade roared, lunging forward with a barrage of punches.

But Jiraiya dodged them with ease. Thanks to his recent training and his Sage Body's enhanced reflexes, avoiding her attacks felt almost effortless.

"Tsunade, I swear I wasn't trying to take advantage of you. If I really wanted to, I could've just grabbed you when you were attacking me."

Jiraiya sighed inwardly. If he'd known she'd still try to beat him senseless, he might as well have enjoyed the moment properly.

Tsunade, however, wasn't in a forgiving mood. Ignoring his words, she continued her relentless assault.

"Well, if you're going to keep this up, I might as well use this as reaction training," Jiraiya muttered under his breath, dodging yet another punch.

"Tsunade, just give it up already. You're not going to hit me. The sun's about to rise—let's call it a night and get some rest."

By the time dawn's first light peeked over the horizon, Tsunade was gasping for breath, her stamina nearly depleted. Meanwhile, Jiraiya remained as energetic as ever.

"Damn it! Why do you have so much stamina?" Tsunade growled, frustration evident in her voice.

Jiraiya chuckled. "Honestly, Tsunade, I've answered this question so many times already. The reason's simple: I'm a once-in-a-generation genius."

"Jiraiya," Tsunade said, glaring at him between heavy breaths, "if you were really trying to take advantage of me, there's no way you'd be able to dodge me so easily."

"I told you! I wasn't trying to take advantage of you!" Jiraiya said, exasperated.

"Fine. I'll choose to believe you," Tsunade finally relented, collapsing onto the ground in exhaustion.

Out of energy and out of options, she lay back on the grass, closing her eyes.

"Thanks for helping me train today, Jiraiya. If you ever need my help in the future, just let me know. I'll do my best to help you out."

"Lady Tsunade, you can count on me to take you up on that offer. I won't hold back if I run into trouble," Jiraiya said, lying down beside her casually.

The training session had undeniably brought them closer.

"What kind of person do you think our sensei is?" Tsunade asked suddenly.

Jiraiya wasn't surprised by the question. With the Senju clan's current decline, it wasn't hard to imagine that some elders in the clan harbored resentment toward Hiruzen Sarutobi.

Hiruzen was, after all, Tobirama Senju's student and had inherited the title of Hokage. For the Senju clan, it was hard to ignore the fact that their current treatment under his leadership was far from ideal.

"What do you think of him?" Jiraiya deflected the question.

"I'm not sure," Tsunade admitted after a moment of silence. "But I do know that the village is stable because of him."

"Stability isn't something one person can maintain on their own," Jiraiya replied, shaking his head.

If not for the solid foundation built by the First and Second Hokage, even Hiruzen in his prime wouldn't have been able to uphold the village's prosperity.

Before long, Tsunade's soft breathing signaled she had fallen asleep.

Jiraiya smiled faintly, removing his outer robe and gently draping it over her. Then, without making a sound, he left her home.

"Sign in," he murmured to himself upon returning to his own house.

"Ding! Sign-in successful," a mechanical voice echoed in his mind.

"Reward: Universal Poison Mark."

"Details," Jiraiya requested.

"The Universal Poison Seal is a detoxification jutsu. If the host is exposed to any poison, this jutsu uses chakra to incinerate and expel it from the body instantly. The stronger the poison, the longer the purification process takes.

Note: This jutsu is self-applicable only and cannot be used on others."

Jiraiya raised an eyebrow. Despite its name, it wasn't a poison-casting technique but a detoxification one. Still, it was extraordinarily powerful, capable of nullifying any poison.

With the Second Shinobi War looming and the prospect of fighting the poison-wielding shinobi of Sunagakure and Amegakure, this new skill significantly improved his chances of survival.

Half-smiling, Jiraiya couldn't help but think of Hanzo of the Salamander—Amegakure's leader and a poison master who had earned the moniker "Demi-God."

"This jutsu will definitely come in handy," Jiraiya muttered, a glint of confidence in his eyes.
