Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Progress on All Fronts
Meanwhile, in the Land of Waterfalls, within Takigakure.
The Takikage, an elderly man with a beard and hair as white as snow, sat in silence, staring at the private letter in his hand.
"This Fifth Hokage from the Uchiha clan is nothing like the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. It's as if Uchiha Madara himself has risen to power again," the Takikage muttered, his mind flashing back to memories of Madara's dominance.
He shook his head, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction.
"What a cunning plan—to reclaim the tailed beasts. But what kind of logic is that? What's given to us belongs to us. There's no justification for taking it back."
"Ten-Tails? A Ten-Tails Jinchūriki? How absurd. Fabricating such an excuse just to retrieve the tailed beasts. It's laughable." The old man sneered.
"We can't afford to provoke Konoha, but giving them the Seven-Tails? Never!" He grumbled, quickly penning a response.
The next day, letters from Rasa and the Takikage were sent through layers of couriers, eventually arriving in Konoha and landing in Nara Shikaku's hands.
Shikaku didn't open them. These were personal replies from the Kazekage and Takikage, not official correspondence. They had to be opened by Akira himself.
Akira scanned the contents briefly before breaking into a smile.
"It seems the Kazekage and Takikage are oddly in sync. Both claim that their respective Jinchūriki 'died in an accident,' leading to the death of their tailed beasts."
"They're clearly afraid of Konoha and of you, Fifth Hokage. That's probably the most reasonable excuse they could come up with," Shikaku remarked, a faint smile on his lips.
Akira shook his head and instructed, "Let it be for now. Have our spies keep a closer eye on any tailed beast-related information."
The reforms in Konoha were officially underway, and the entire village was bustling with activity.
The village was set to undergo a new round of expansion and reorganization. However, this was just the beginning. Departments were still in the process of being formed, and it would be some time before tangible results could be seen.

Training Ground 33
Might Guy walked on his hands, his voice booming, "Kakashi! What mission were you assigned?"
Kakashi, with his trademark lazy demeanor, opened his single visible eye slightly and replied in a flat tone, "Eliminating all bandits and rogue ninjas within the Land of Fire's borders."
A stable environment was crucial for a nation's development, and Akira would no longer tolerate destabilizing elements.
"Argh! I wanted a mission like that!" Guy howled, clearly dissatisfied.
"What's your mission?" Kakashi asked, somewhat intrigued.
Guy sighed dramatically. "I've been assigned to teach taijutsu at the Ninja Academy."
"Really?" Kakashi blinked in surprise. "Guy, I didn't take you for a teaching type."
"I'm not!" Guy grumbled, thoroughly disheartened by his assignment.
"It's not a long-term assignment, is it?" Kakashi probed.
"No." Guy shook his head. "I'm not teaching students, though. I'm training the academy instructors."
At this, Kakashi rolled his eye and shrugged before leaving the training ground.
Training instructors wasn't so bad. After all, the academy instructors were at least Chūnin-level, with above-average learning capabilities.
Clearly, Might Duy's contributions had led the village leadership to place greater emphasis on taijutsu, starting from the academy level.
This shift was evident in the academy's current curriculum. Taijutsu was now a core focus.
Guy himself had struggled to get into the academy due to his lack of talent in ninjutsu. But now, even a purely taijutsu-oriented ninja could enroll and thrive.

Six Months Later
With substantial reparations from Kumogakure and Iwagakure, Konoha's initial reforms proceeded smoothly.
After some adjustment, various departments began to operate efficiently, stepping into their respective roles.
The medical and agricultural departments launched their products, starting to penetrate existing markets.
The medical department, led by Tsunade, benefited from her renown, attracting patients to the newly expanded Konoha Hospital in droves. Meanwhile, their pharmaceutical products quickly gained traction.
The agricultural department progressed more slowly. Mokuton-enhanced grain seeds were undergoing trials to ensure accurate data on natural growth. Unlike other sectors, agriculture required time for results.
Nevertheless, the department had already prepared large tracts of land for mass cultivation.
The construction and transportation departments, however, experienced the fastest growth, earning stellar reputations almost immediately.
Hiring Konoha's construction teams was not only cheaper but also far more efficient, drastically reducing project timelines.

Uchiha Akira's Private Laboratory
Now in Year 53 of the Hidden Leaf calendar, six months had passed, and research progress had accelerated.
Focusing intently on the cloned Sharingan, Akira muttered, "Using a non-blood-related Mangekyō Sharingan to awaken the Eternal Mangekyō is indeed slow. At this pace, it'll take at least another year."
Each evolution of the Sharingan brought a qualitative leap, from three tomoe to Mangekyō, and from Mangekyō to Eternal Mangekyō. The results were worth the wait.
As for the Tenseigan, the timeline was even longer.
Due to Hinata Hyūga's Byakugan not being a perfect match with Ōtsutsuki Toneri's lineage, evolving her eyes into the Tenseigan would take at least three years.
"Let's see just how powerful sage techniques truly are," Akira mused, standing before a cloned body of Jūgo.
Initially, he had concerns about the clone absorbing excessive natural energy and mutating, causing the experiment to fail. However, the clone's development was smoother than expected.
"Is it because the natural energy around this lab is insufficient?"
Curious, Akira infused his spiritual energy into the clone, beginning to extract chakra.
