Chapter 120: Chapter 120
As Shinki snapped his fingers, several puppets surged into the mouth of the dying salamander and detonated with powerful explosions.
The internal organs were torn apart, and the salamander's brain was obliterated. Its massive body slumped lifelessly to the ground, a testament to Shinki's overwhelming power.
"Despicable!!!"
Hanzo's fury was palpable as he nimbly dodged the self-destructing puppets and charged at Shinki, wielding his sickle with murderous intent. His beloved summon was dead, and he was determined to avenge it.
Death approached?
Nara Shikashin stared at the lifeless salamander, swallowing hard. The sheer force of the puppet explosions was staggering.
Shinki advanced toward the fallen creature. It was a perfect specimen for a puppet and too valuable to leave behind. As for Hanzo?
Shinki would deal with him soon enough.
"Boom!"
Hanzo's body-flicker technique was impossibly fast, but the puppets along the path self-detonated in succession, creating powerful shockwaves that momentarily halted his advance.
"Ah!!! Damn it, damn it!!!"
Hanzo roared, watching Shinki seal away the remains of the salamander. His rage bordered on madness.
Anyone would lose their composure in such a situation.
Nara Shikashin couldn't help but feel a flicker of sympathy for the so-called demigod. He could have stayed on the battlefield, yet he chose to attack the camp. Now, he was paying the price.
With the salamander dealt with, Shinki signaled, and the surviving puppets returned to his side. He noted that over a hundred of them had been lost in the assault, but the gain far outweighed the loss.
These puppets had limits; they weren't equipped to handle an opponent as fast as Hanzo.
Shinki packed them away with a single motion.
"Die!!!"
Hanzo, driven by unbridled fury, hurled his sickle—attached to a chain—at Shinki, aiming for a lethal strike to the face. He followed closely, poised for the final blow.
"Watch out!!" Nara Shikashin shouted.
Shinki, unfazed, raised his hand, and the deadly sickle suddenly veered off course, embedding itself harmlessly into the ground beside him.
"???"
What just happened?
Hanzo froze for a split second, only to be yanked forward by a powerful, unseen force.
No... This isn't right.
Hanzo's eyes widened in shock. He had never encountered such a mysterious technique before.
But the title of 'demigod' wasn't mere flattery. With quick thinking, Hanzo tore off his gas mask, seized the chain, and yanked it. The sickle, still attached, swung around to strike Shinki's lower back.
Hanzo's combat prowess was unmatched. In this dire situation, where ordinary ninjas would have panicked, he found a way to counter.
"Clang!!!"
A sphere of green light intercepted the sickle, shattering the chakra-infused metal blade with ease.
It broke.
Impossible.
Hanzo's disbelief was written across his face. He couldn't fathom how his weapon, forged from chakra metal, could be destroyed.
"Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!"
A beam of golden light erupted with unimaginable speed, piercing through Hanzo's body before he could react. In an instant, Shinki appeared before him, his hand glowing with green chakra as he gripped Hanzo's neck and lifted him effortlessly.
"Who... who are you?" Hanzo gasped, blood trickling from his mouth, eyes wide with disbelief.
Is he truly from the Hyuga clan?
Could the Hyuga be this formidable?
What kind of jutsu was that? How could he break my sickle and launch an attack so fast that I couldn't even see it?
"Your enemy," Shinki replied, tightening his grip. To prevent any last-ditch effort to release poison, he added coldly, "I promised someone that I'd win this war."
"Cough... cough!"
Hanzo's life ebbed away rapidly. Even as blood bubbled from his mouth, he rasped out a question, desperation in his eyes. "Why... cough, cough... didn't you act sooner...?"
Hanzo was a wary man. Had Shinki shown his true power earlier, Hanzo would never have launched this final, fatal assault.
He had attacked only because he believed Konoha had no one capable of stopping him. Who could have predicted this?
"Because I'm a medical ninja," Shinki said with a grin.
"Ahem..."
Hanzo's eyes widened in sheer rage and disbelief. The irony was too much. After another bloody cough, he fell limp, eyes wide open in death, perhaps from the anger that still burned in him.
A medical ninja? He would have scoffed if he weren't already dead.
Nara Shikashin looked at Hanzo's lifeless, open-eyed face and couldn't help but silently offer a moment of sympathy for the demigod.
To face such an unconventional and powerful 'medical ninja' was truly unfortunate.
"Senior, I'll leave the rest to you. I'm taking him," Shinki said.
The poisonous salamander was valuable as material, and Hanzo's own body was no different. Shinki secured Hanzo's remains in a scroll, ensuring even the shattered sickle was collected. Chakra metal was rare and expensive, perfect for trading for more puppet supplies.
"Got it. Take a breather; I'll handle the rest."
Hanzo was dead, and the remaining Rain Village forces were no longer a threat. This battle had drained Rain's final resources, leaving the country in imminent chaos.
But that wasn't Shinki's concern.
His mission was a resounding success.
He had saved countless wounded, earned the gratitude of numerous comrades, slain Hanzo the Salamander, and bolstered his reputation. Once these deeds spread through the village, Shinki would be untouchable.
As he turned, Shinki noticed the stationed medical ninjas and ANBU staring at him, their faces lit with admiration.
