Naruto : The Demon Swordsman

Yoriichi was at the Kanabi bridge protecting it from possible invasion from the Iwa shinobi. It was an important location since by blocking this place, Iwa would not be able to enter the other side of the Land of Grass.

They could have destroyed it like how the Leaf shinobi did in the third great ninja war to hinder the supply chain of Iwa. But that would be counterproductive as Iwa could build a bridge over time in a very short time or keep focusing on taking the land on the other side of the bridge.

"Iwa would not expect us to use this strategy, I can't wait to see their faces when they realize what we are doing," Yoriichi said to the person standing right next to him, Itsuki.

A squad of 50 shinobi were with him led by him and his former genin squad teammate Itsuki. Speaking of Itsuki, after becoming the seven tails jinchuriki, he had constantly tried to become friends with the tailed beast.

But sadly he had not managed to become close with the tailed beast yet. Despite spending years trying to talk with the tailed beast, he had not even managed to get the name of the beast.

Yoriichi understood though that the tailed beast was justified for his attitude. No one would want to become friends with the one who is keeping you in a cage and taking away your freedom.

Unlike when Naruto or Killer Bee become Jinchurikis, it was the first time the tailed beasts had to feel trapped inside a jinchuriki. They were used to being overlords of their respective places. Being trapped inside a 'puny' human was something they never expected.

Nine Tails was a jinchuriki for decades under Mito and Kushina who treated him as someone who would bring destruction to the village, not caring that it was not his fault for what he did since he was being controlled by the Sharingan.

Itsuki did not have the protagonist's aura either or had blue eyes or possessed the talk-no-jutsu to help him become friends with the seven tails.

But that did not mean Itsuki had not made any progress. He has managed to use the mini-tailed beast transformation mode up to 5 tails without losing control. In fact, the seven tails himself trained Itsuki for this transformation in return for Itsuki to have more beetle 'friends' with him.

For some reason, seven-tails had a soft spot with beetles. Anyways let's get back to the point.

Itsuki nodded at Yoriichi and said "Yeah, Iwa shinobi would not expect us to use this strategy. Kaito really outdid himself by developing this plan."

"If that lazy bastard put more of his mind into training, he would have already become an S-rank shinobi. He has been lazing around a lot since he became a jonin." Yoriichi said as he recalled the plan suggested by Kaito.

----Two Days Prior--

"What do you mean?! Why can't I join the battlefield and just annihilate the enemy forces?" Yoriichi shouted at Kaito who just yawned and waited for Yoriichi to calm down before he explained why S-rank shinobi stood back during these battles.

"While I understand your point, there must be something that I can do to help. I can't let our fellow village shinobi die while I just watch them die from behind. Is this something someone who would become a future Uzukage should do?/This is unacceptable!" Yoriichi angrily put his point forward.

Being a soldier in his previous life, he could not just watch his comrades die while he just watched what was going on. Heck, he was not even going to give any orders to the other shinobi since Kaito and the other three S-rank shinobi were going to do it. Yoriichi believed it to be a waste of an S-rank shinobi.

Yoriichi did not understand why the kage of any village was elected by the order of their strength. A Kage is supposed to be knowledgeable, wise, and cunning who is supposed to be the think-tank of the village, read reports, sign the paperwork, etc. But this would mean that they won't be able to fight on the frontlines. Is not it a waste of an S-rank shinobi who could turn the tides in a war?

He did not want to be like Hiruzen who sat behind the desk and complained about the paperwork while the other shinobi fought on frontlines or did dangerous missions for the survival and growth of the village.

After seeing Yoriichi calm down, Kaito smirked and said "When did I say you are not going to be fighting? The reason S-rank shinobi don't fight is because of the fear that the rampage of an S-rank shinobi would kill the entire army of the opposite side even if the other S-rank survives. But what if the S-rank shinobi are with only small battalions of say only 50 shinobi and are everywhere? We would divide our forces into one big group and two small groups. The two small groups would be led by an S-rank shinobi each while the big one would have two. The small group would be going all out to kill as many enemies as they can but they would be facing a lot of risk too."

Kaito continued "The second part of the plan is to let the enemy villages enter the land of grass. Since they want the Land of Grass so badly then let them enter the country. Tell the people of border villages and towns to evacuate along with all the food and water inside the town."

At this point of time, everyone's eyes widened as understanding dawned on them about Kaito's plan.

Yuriko looked at Kaito and said "You want them to take the empty cities and towns but when that happens we would cut their retreat path as well as their supplies path. Then they would have no option but to face a siege which would lead to their annihilation due to lack of food, weapons, and fortifications. A good plan but still with a lot of loopholes."

"I have considered all the loopholes. We would not let them get access to the entirety of the land of grass that would make our forces spread thin. That's why one of our S-rank shinobi would be stationed at the Kanabi bridge. His job would be to kill as many shinobi as he can and let no one pass from there." Kaito said before continuing

"Of course, they could choose to stay outside of a city to prevent a siege. But how long would they just keep standing there? They would have to move at some point. Then there is the fact...." Kaito kept on explaining the different parts of the plan to all the S-rank shinobi.
