Naruto: The Gamer Hokage

Chapter 43: Terumi Mei and Mist Village Civil War

Several Days Later,

Knock! Knock!

"Come in!" A voice came from the Hokage's office.

Naruto opened the door and walked in.

"Why did you call me, Old Man? Is there an important mission?"

"Ahem! We have guests, Naruto." A light cough straightened Naruto as he looked around and saw a beautiful woman sitting on a chair. She was a tall, slender woman with fair skin.

He could see her curious green eyes staring at him. Her long auburn hair was reaching the ground behind the chair and she had a top-knot tied with a dark blue band and four bangs at the front.

Two bangs were short and covering her right eye, two were long, crossing each other on her bust, just below her chin. She wore a long-sleeved, dark blue dress that fell just below the knees. The zipper closes it at the front.

The clothes only cover the upper part of her arms and the underside of her breasts. She also wears a mesh armor that covers slightly more of her upper body. She wore a similar color skirt that reached below her knee.

In a single glance, Naruto immediately recognized this lady. But just for confirmation, he turned toward Hokage with a curious look.

Hiruzen saw his look and answered.

"Naruto, this is Terumi Mei, the leader of the Rebel Army in the Mist. You were called here on her request."

Naruto gave a nod of understanding and looked at Mei with a gentle smile, saying.

"It must be Zabuza who mentioned me. So, what does the leader of Rebel Army in the Mist needs from me?"

Mei kept her smile cool as she answered.

"Your strength. Although you seemed quite young, Zabuza told me not to underestimate you based on your age. Since he isn't a person who would brag about his defeat, I wanted to borrow your strength to end our war."

"So, is it a request to me or the village?" Naruto asked.

Mei was surprised to hear that response and replied.

"Of course, I just want your strength on the battlefield. Currently, we don't have the resources to ask Konoha for help."

"And, why should I care about your fight?" Naruto asked with the same smile.

Mei didn't lose her smile as she answered.

"Because your enemy might just be there."

Naruto's eyes got serious as he spoke.

"Then, you must be out of your mind thinking I would try to pick a fight with him now. That man was able to control Kyubi with a single look."

Hiruzen was keeping his silence during this conversation. While it was a surprise for him to find out about the man who attacked Konoha that night, they still don't have concrete proof of that man's identity.

He had already learned about Naruto's information from Kakashi the day they returned from Waves.

Now, Mei couldn't keep her cool. She should have thought about it before. Naruto wasn't an idiot and Zabuza told her that. But, she assumed that Naruto wouldn't give up his chance to get revenge on that man.

She heavily sighed.

"I see. Then, I must apologize for making such a request. But, is there any other way I can hire you for this?"

Naruto thought for a moment. His mind was looking for any kind of information that he had on her. Suddenly, an idea came to his mind.

But, he didn't speak immediately. He kept thinking because that simply wouldn't be enough. After a while, his eyes sparkled as he snapped his finger and drew the attention of Mei and Hiruzen.

"Then, I have perfect rewards for me if you want to hire me. Do I have your attention?"

"Before you two start negotiating, you must understand Naruto's status in the village as a Jinchuriki. I can't simply just send him to your battlefield without any safety concerns."

"That means alongside him, you will have to pay for hiring Three Elite Jonins. Two of them will join your battlefield while one of them will protect Naruto in secret."

"Do you agree to proceed?"

In fact, Hiruzen didn't want to send Naruto to Mist's battlefield. But, he knew Naruto not only needed experience to become Hokage but also support from his records.

And, this war could help him establish a powerful record. More importantly, he was also interested in Naruto's cost.

Mei was surprised by his words. She didn't think Konoha would give them two Elite Jonins to use on a battlefield.

Although it would be costly, she didn't care since she had received a lot of money from Zabuza. It's just that she was more curious about Naruto's reward.

After she nodded her head, Naruto raised his two fingers and said.

"I have two conditions that you must agree to before I join your battlefield. First condition is simple. You have to teach me Boil Release. I already have the requirements to unlock that Kekkai Genkai."

"Second condition is your Tailed Beast. You must let me have it."

"Impossible!" She immediately stood up and shouted with slight rage in her eyes. She was trying to be as polite as possible but she still couldn't contain her rage hearing his condition.

Even Hiruzen was stunned after hearing that condition. Never in his life, he thought Naruto would ask for a Tailed Beast.

"Actually, I am doing you a favor. Although I don't have concrete evidence, the man who controlled your Mizukage is after the Tailed Beast as well."

"The reason he attacked Konoha thirteen years ago was for the same reason. Fourth managed to defeat him and break the Genjutsu otherwise he would've taken the Nine Tails."

Hearing his words, Mei's eyebrows twitched as she said.

"Just as you said, you don't have the evidence. Besides, why would you need a Tailed Beast since you are already a Jinchuriki of Nine Tails?"

"Before you answer that, I would like to say something about that man. I have received some reports from a special spy that there is an organization called Akatsuki whose intention is to capture all Tailed Beasts."

"They work in pairs and have up to Nine S-Rank Missing nin. You might be familiar with two of them. Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki."

"What?" Mei sucked a cold air and almost jumped from her seat. She thought Naruto was just making things up but didn't expect there to be such cold evidence.

"That is why I need your Tailed Beast. You see, most people can't become Jinchuriki of two different-tailed beasts. But, I am different. I have a seal that can easily store more than one Tailed Beast as long as they agree to be sealed within me."

Naruto spoke.

Hearing his words, Mei and Hiruzen's eyebrows twitched. Hiruzen cleared his throat and said.

"Ahem! Naruto, you might not know this but Tailed Beast does not like to be sealed inside a human."

"I know this. And, I am pretty sure that your Tailed Beast won't agree to be sealed inside of me. But, long before we had this conversation, Kyubi had a premonition about the fate of the Tailed Beasts."

"So, nearly two months ago, it started to talk with me and gave me more and more knowledge about their existence and how to work properly with them, making me potentially a perfect Jinchuriki."

"Naturally, that means I don't need an extra Tailed Beast. Unfortunately for you, Tailed Beasts are as much of a living being as we are. So, I promised Kyubi to save other Tailed Beast if I can."

"That's why I need to seal your Tailed Beast inside of me. Although Kyubi isn't sure what kind of danger they are in, he doesn't like to take risks."

Naruto finished explaining and before Mei could speak, he continued.

"Listen, I know you don't want to give a powerful Tailed Beast to others considering how your Mizukage could use its power. But, that's exactly the reason why your village is in such a condition."

"Besides that, if you want to end Blood Mist Village, you have to end the life of your Mizukage which means your Tailed Beast will be reborn somewhere else and there, if you don't have enough resources to capture it again, you won't get it."

"On the other hand, if you agree, you will get a Jinchuriki who can access quite a lot of power of his Tailed Beast. If I can fight your Mizukage alone, you might be able to end this war early and save more people."

"So, you just have to decide what you want. It's your village, your decision."

Hearing his words, Mei suddenly turned silent. The original rejection suddenly died in her throat.

Hiruzen and Naruto waited until she finally spoke after five minutes.

"I will agree to your conditions on three of my own. First condition; you can't force Sanbi to be sealed inside you. Second condition; if you die in your battle against Mizukage, we won't be responsible."

"Third condition; if you survive and somehow get Sanbi sealed inside you, you, Naruto Uzumaki can't start fighting against Mist Village using its power."

"If you agree, I will agree to your conditions."

Just when Hiruzen was about to say something, Naruto clapped his hands together.

"I agree. But on one condition. You must fulfill your first condition before we start the battle."
