Chapter 200: Chapter 200: A Matter of Great Importance
Naruto Uzumaki exchanged a glance with Shishio Mitarashi.
Understanding his signal, Shishio turned to the gathered shinobi and commanded, "Everyone, leave!"
Everyone except Shikaku Nara retreated without hesitation.
Obito Uchiha sneered, "You claim that Infinite Tsukuyomi is a lie? What a joke! I've only mentioned it a few times. You, an outsider who knows nothing of the context, have no right to call it a sham!"
Naruto smiled faintly. "Though I may be an outsider, I know the entire story."
Obito scoffed, "Hah, how arrogant."
But Naruto began speaking in detail, "Infinite Tsukuyomi was a concept derived by Madara Uchiha from the Uchiha Stone Tablet, which he believed contained the Six Paths Sage's will. For decades, he revered it as a guiding principle and meticulously planned around it. First, through the battle at the Valley of the End, he obtained Hashirama Senju's power. Later, he faked his death to deceive the world and, in his old age, awakened the Rinnegan.
Due to his frail body, he couldn't act on his own and thus entrusted the Rinnegan to the young Nagato. He also saved you after the Kanabi Bridge incident, assigning you both to carry out his posthumous plans. Am I wrong so far?"
Obito frowned, "And even if that's true, how does that prove that Infinite Tsukuyomi is a lie?"
Naruto smiled, "I'm merely proving that I'm not speaking baselessly but from facts."
Obito said coldly, "Then let's hear your grand theory."
"Very well," Naruto began.
"From its very foundation, the Infinite Tsukuyomi is flawed. The Uchiha Stone Tablet was tampered with by Black Zetsu.
Infinite Tsukuyomi, on the surface, appears to be a technique that creates a sweet dream world without conflict. But in reality, it transforms all those ensnared by it into White Zetsu!"
Obito's frown deepened. "What did you say? Black Zetsu is Madara's will. Why would it do such a thing?"
"Good question!" Naruto smiled. "Black Zetsu is not Madara's will. It is the will of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki!"
Obito's brows furrowed even tighter. "And who is Kaguya Ōtsutsuki?"
Naruto suggested, "How about this, Obito? Use the Sharingan's projection genjutsu to convey the information more effectively."
Obito rejected the idea, "I have Kamui, and projection genjutsu doesn't work on me unless I initiate it. But if I do, it would count as me attacking you in Amegakure. So, just explain verbally."
"Alright then," Naruto agreed, and he began recounting the tale of Kaguya's origins and history.
Obito looked incredulous. "I know about the existence of the Divine Tree and that the moon is the Six Paths Sage's sealing stone. But you're saying the Ten-Tails and the Divine Tree are Kaguya's will? That Black Zetsu is her third child, born before her sealing, and that it deceived Madara to act in her revival? This is..."
Naruto calmly replied, "Unbelievable, isn't it? But if there's anything that doesn't make sense, feel free to point it out."
Obito was momentarily speechless.
Naruto seized the opportunity, "Let me provide some evidence about Black Zetsu. I once left a Flying Thunder God mark on Sasuke's throat. Unlike his back, where one could cut away the flesh, the throat is not an area that can be easily tampered with. Yet, the mark disappeared. There's only one explanation: Yin-Yang Release, and at the level of the Six Paths Sage. The one who did this was Black Zetsu! If it were truly Madara's will, how could it use such Yin-Yang Release?"
"That's the distant past. Now, let's talk about the recent events. Both you and Madara bear the Curse Mark of Tongue Eradication, which prevents you from attacking Amegakure and Konoha. Yet Black Zetsu, despite having the ability to remove this seal, never did so for Madara. Why? Because Black Zetsu is guilty and afraid of being exposed!"
"Doesn't this at least prove that Black Zetsu and Madara are not aligned?"
Naruto's sharp words left Obito unable to refute.
"Then how do you know all this?" Obito asked, shifting the focus.
"For sixteen years, you've mostly stayed in Konoha. Apart from three years of training with Jiraiya and a month of training at Mount Myōboku, your whereabouts have been under Akatsuki's surveillance. In other words, you have no way of knowing these things!"
So, he finally asked the question.
Naruto's expression turned wistful.
Observing Naruto's demeanor, Obito pressed sharply, "What? Can't answer? That proves you're guilty of deceit! Trying to use half-truths to slander the Eye of the Moon Plan—your intentions are despicable!"
Naruto, however, met Obito's gaze serenely and then stepped forward boldly.
"I can tell you everything. But first, you must let go of your inner defenses and exchange fists with me. Then you'll understand everything."
Obito's gaze sharpened as he watched Naruto approach.
Naruto called out behind him, "Shikaku-ossan, release the shadow!"
Swoosh!
The Shadow Imitation Technique was undone.
Naruto stopped, removed the glove from his left hand with his right, and extended his fist toward Obito. His voice was gentle. "Obito, I've never seen you as my enemy, only as my opponent. You must have sensed that, right?"
Obito knew well that there had been multiple occasions where Naruto could have easily taken his life but chose not to. This had always been a lingering question in his mind.
Naruto smiled, "Exchange fists with me, and you'll know everything."
Obito's right hand trembled as it slowly rose and clenched into a fist.
But just as they were about to touch, his hand suddenly withdrew!
Swoosh!
He retreated swiftly to the edge of the Four Red Yang Formation!
Naruto stood there with his fist extended, watching Obito retreat.
In that instant, Obito thought of Rin, of the moment she was pierced by Kakashi's Chidori.
Obito's voice was filled with despair, "This world has no hope left. Infinite Tsukuyomi is the last straw of salvation. I can't abandon my long-held dream because of your words. Otherwise, I wouldn't deserve to be called a dreamer!"
Naruto pleaded, "Obito, Madara implanted the same curse mark on Rin's heart as he did on you. She knew everything and willingly ran into Kakashi-sensei's Chidori."
Obito's eyes burned with fury. "Enough! Words are meaningless. Let us meet on the battlefield. If you don't end this, it will be me—and this world—that ends!"
Swoosh!!
Obito's body passed through the Four Red Yang Formation and disappeared into the outside world.
The rain in Amegakure continued to pour.
Naruto slowly lowered his outstretched hand.
Shikaku approached, "His obsession runs too deep. There's nothing more we can do now. But after this conversation, it should be easier to communicate after the next decisive battle."
Naruto clenched his fist, resolute. "Yes. In our final battle, I will give it my all!"
Swoosh!!
Through the swirling vortex, Obito returned to Tobi's side.
Tobi remarked, "That shadow technique earlier is something we must guard against."
Obito replied, "Yes. Shikaku Nara made me realize that I'm still not invincible."
Tobi asked, "So, what will you do?"
Obito's gaze turned cold. "Madara once mentioned that the Uzumaki clan had a sealing technique capable of sealing shadows. I will find that technique!"
Tobi asked, "And if you can't find it?"
Obito responded, "Then I'll raid Konoha for the Scroll of Seals and learn my teacher's Flying Thunder God Technique! It's an instantaneous space-time ninjutsu that can escape shadow bindings!"
At this moment, the silent Zetsu spoke, "Obito-sama, why not prepare for both? Pursue the sealing technique and Flying Thunder God."
Obito smirked, "Alright, let's do that!"
