Late at night, Uchiha Fugaku's study hosted four individuals: Uchiha Fugaku himself and the three elders of the clan.

After learning about Uchiha Shisui's suspicious behavior from Uchiha Kyosuke and questioning Uchiha Hiroshi, Fugaku had immediately summoned the elders for an emergency meeting.

The atmosphere in the study was tense, reflecting the gravity of the situation. While the three elders appeared weary due to their age, the seriousness etched on Fugaku's face drove away any thoughts of sleep.

The great elder, Uchiha Setsuna, gathered his strength and spoke first.

"Clan leader, what has happened for you to summon us at such a late hour?"

"Not long ago, Uchiha Shisui…"

Fugaku began recounting the events, explaining Shisui's late-night visit to Uchiha Hiroshi, his suspicious questions, and Kyosuke's timely intervention.

As the tale unfolded, the elders' expressions darkened.

"Clan leader, are you certain Uchiha Shisui was probing into Danzo Shimura's disappearance?"

The second elder, Uchiha Mamoru, asked gravely.

"Yes. I questioned Uchiha Hiroshi myself. Shisui was indeed inquiring about our activities in the Land of Rice."

"Traitorous scum!"

The great elder slammed his palm against his knee, his voice shaking with rage.

"This ungrateful snake!"

The third elder, Uchiha Tsukasa, growled, his eyes filled with venom.

Fugaku raised a hand to silence them before continuing.

"Thankfully, Uchiha Kyosuke intervened in time and stopped Shisui from learning anything significant. However…"

Fugaku paused, his gaze sweeping across the room.

"…Kyosuke's appearance may have tipped Shisui off. I suspect he now realizes his identity as an insider has been exposed."

The room fell silent as the weight of Fugaku's words settled over them.

After a long pause, Fugaku addressed the elders.

"If Shisui knows his cover is blown, how should we proceed?"

"Since he likely suspects we're onto him, there's no reason to hold back any longer," the great elder, Uchiha Setsuna, declared. His voice brimmed with fury.

"We should announce Shisui's betrayal to the clan immediately, capture him, and punish him according to clan law."

"Even if it causes turmoil within the family, this traitor cannot be allowed to live another day!"

The elder's bloodshot eyes glimmered with a fierce resolve, his words carrying the weight of his authority.

"I agree," Uchiha Tsukasa chimed in, his voice equally fierce. "We've delayed long enough. The time has come to execute him and make an example of him!"

But the second elder, Uchiha Mamoru, frowned and shook his head.

"That won't work," he said calmly.

"What do you mean?" Setsuna snapped, his anger flaring once more.

"Shisui is one of the strongest shinobi in the clan. If he resists, it will be extremely difficult to subdue him quickly," Mamoru explained. "And during that time, the Third Hokage will surely intervene to save him."

"What right does the Third Hokage have to meddle in our clan's internal matters?" Setsuna spat, his fists trembling with frustration.

"Elder Setsuna, you know as well as I do that the village laws take precedence over family rules," Mamoru countered, his voice firm.

Fugaku sighed, rubbing his temple.

"The Third Hokage will argue that Shisui hasn't violated any village laws, giving him every excuse to interfere. If he rescues Shisui, it will not only hinder us but also expose the clan's turmoil to the rest of the village."

"So, what? Are we supposed to do nothing?" Tsukasa growled, his frustration mounting.

"Perhaps we can lure Shisui out of the village," he suggested after a moment. "Once he's away from Konoha, we can eliminate him discreetly, just as we did with Uchiha Chi."

Mamoru shook his head again. "The Third Hokage's surveillance is tighter than ever since Danzo's death. Any unusual activity, such as assembling a team to pursue Shisui, will immediately raise suspicion. They'll alert him before we can act."

"Then what should we do?" Setsuna barked, his patience wearing thin.

Mamoru turned to Fugaku, his gaze sharp.

"Clan leader, can you eliminate Shisui alone?"

The room fell silent. All eyes were on Fugaku.

Fugaku furrowed his brows, contemplating the question. After a long pause, he finally spoke.

"I am confident I can defeat him. But to kill him outright… I cannot guarantee it."

The elders exchanged uneasy glances.

Fugaku continued, "I possess the Mangekyō Sharingan, and my current strength surpasses his. However, Shisui's mastery of body flicker and his speed are unparalleled. Even Uchiha Obito failed to kill him. If he escapes, the consequences will be dire."

"Then we cannot act recklessly," Mamoru said firmly.

"If we attack and fail, Shisui will become a rallying point for the Hokage's faction. The clan will lose both credibility and strategic ground."

"What are you suggesting?" Setsuna demanded, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"For now, we must pretend as though nothing has happened," Mamoru said quietly.

"Pretend nothing happened?" Tsukasa echoed, stunned.

"Yes," Mamoru affirmed, his expression unwavering. "The clan is under heavy surveillance. Any overt action against Shisui will alert the Hokage. For now, we must play the long game."

Seeing the other elders' hesitation, Mamoru elaborated.

"If we act as though we haven't realized Shisui's betrayal, he won't openly declare his allegiance to the Hokage. That buys us time. Once the Hokage eases his surveillance, we'll have the opportunity to strike decisively."

Setsuna and Tsukasa exchanged uncertain glances.

"Elder Mamoru makes a valid point," Fugaku interjected. "Acting now would be risky and counterproductive. We must bide our time and wait for the right moment to act."

After a long silence, Setsuna sighed heavily.

"Very well. If the clan leader agrees, I will abide by this decision," he said begrudgingly.

"I'll hold off my anger—for now," Tsukasa added, though his tone betrayed his reluctance.

"It's decided, then," Fugaku said, his tone final. "We'll pretend we're unaware of Shisui's discovery and maintain appearances. When the time is right, we will deal with him—permanently."

The elders nodded in agreement, their faces set with grim determination.
