Naruto: The Rise Of Uchiha

Chapter 134: Chapter 136

After a restless night, Uchiha Shisui left the Uchiha compound early the next morning and headed straight to the Hokage Building.

Inside a private room, he met with the Third Hokage, his voice filled with anxiety as he expressed his concerns.

"Hokage-sama, my identity as an insider may have been exposed."

"The identity of the traitor may have been exposed?"

The Third Hokage looked up sharply, his face reflecting both shock and gravity.

"What makes you think that?" he asked in a deep voice.

"Last night, I visited Uchiha Hiroshi, one of the clan members who accompanied the clan leader to the Land of Rice," Shisui explained hurriedly.

"I hypnotized him to learn if Danzo-sama's disappearance was connected to the Uchiha clan. But just when I was about to get answers, a clan member named Uchiha Kyosuke appeared, claiming that the clan leader had summoned Uchiha Hiroshi and took him away."

The Third Hokage furrowed his brows, lighting his pipe as he contemplated the situation.

"The timing of Uchiha Kyosuke's arrival is certainly suspicious," he admitted.

As Shisui had surmised, the sudden appearance of Uchiha Kyosuke was far too coincidental to be a mere accident. Coincidences like this often pointed to intentional interference.

"Do you have any other evidence?"

Shisui hesitated briefly before speaking.

"I've also noticed that certain clan members seem to be keeping an eye on me…"

"Are you certain?"

The Third Hokage's expression grew more serious, his eyes narrowing.

"I can't be completely sure," Shisui admitted after some thought, "but it feels likely. These are people I know well. While it could be casual glances, my instincts tell me they are monitoring me."

The Third Hokage exhaled a plume of smoke, the lines on his face deepening as he processed Shisui's words. After a moment, he spoke with finality.

"It seems highly probable that your identity as an insider has indeed been exposed."

The Third Hokage's conclusion mirrored Shisui's fears. The evidence—Kyosuke's intervention and the suspicious behavior of other clan members—was hard to ignore.

"Your presence in the Uchiha compound may now pose a danger to you," the Hokage said firmly. "For your safety, it's best to avoid returning for the time being."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Although Shisui had anticipated such an outcome, hearing it confirmed left him feeling both disheartened and uneasy.

"It's time for you to disappear from the Uchiha family's sight," the Third Hokage continued. "As it happens, when I took over Root after Danzo's disappearance, I found something that might help you."

"Something that could help me?" Shisui asked, his curiosity piqued.

"A Sharingan."

Shisui's single visible eye widened in surprise.

"There's a Sharingan in Root?"

"That's not surprising," the Hokage replied with a weary sigh. "Danzo always sought power—whether it was Hashirama's cells or the Uchiha clan's Sharingan. He likely viewed it as a means to rival the First Hokage's strength."

"Danzo-sama went too far," Shisui said, his tone tinged with anger.

As an Uchiha, he couldn't help but feel a deep discomfort at the thought of Sharingan being collected and stored like tools.

"It was excessive," the Hokage admitted. "However, this Sharingan can now serve a legitimate purpose—it can replace your blind right eye."

Shisui's expression softened slightly as the Hokage's intentions became clear.

"Next, you should take time to recover from the transplant and adapt to the new eye. During this period, you'll also remain hidden from the Uchiha clan."

"I understand," Shisui replied with a nod.

Meanwhile, in the residence of the Uchiha clan leader, Uchiha Fugaku was meeting with Uchiha Yakumi, who handed him a sealed scroll.

"Chief, the bodies of the six clansmen have been sealed inside this scroll," Yakumi said respectfully.

Fugaku took the scroll, noting Yakumi's hesitant expression.

"Is something on your mind?" Fugaku asked, sensing his subordinate's unease.

"I admit, I'm a little curious why you asked me to exhume their bodies," Yakumi confessed, his tone cautious.

Fugaku regarded Yakumi silently for a moment before speaking.

"I understand your concern. Exhuming their bodies is not a decision I made lightly," he began.

"My Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities require the use of bloodline-limit corpses to reach their full potential."

Yakumi's eyes widened in astonishment.

"Your Mangekyō Sharingan requires bloodline-limit corpses?" he repeated, stunned by the revelation.

"Yes," Fugaku confirmed. "The ninja world may seem peaceful now, but it is anything but. I am far from invincible, and we cannot afford complacency. Though it pains me to disturb the rest of our clansmen, their sacrifice will help protect the family."

Hearing this, Yakumi's initial doubts began to dissolve.

"If the six knew their remains could aid the clan leader, I'm sure they would willingly offer their help," Yakumi said earnestly. "Your strength is the key to safeguarding our clan."

Fugaku nodded, a faint smile crossing his lips.

"I'm glad you understand."

He placed a hand on Yakumi's shoulder. "Your loyalty is invaluable, Yakumi."

The reassurance seemed to reinvigorate Yakumi, who left the residence feeling both awed and honored.

Once alone, Fugaku descended into the secret basement beneath his study.

Unsealing the scroll, he revealed one of the six bodies.

"Unseal," he murmured, breaking the barrier.

As the body of the deceased Uchiha appeared before him, Fugaku's gaze hardened.

"These sacrifices will not be in vain," he whispered to himself.
