Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Huge Confrontation
Boom!
Sasuke's Perfect Susanoo planted its massive feet into the earth, shaking the battlefield. Though the sudden attack from Kurama had knocked the towering giant back, it remained upright.
"Is that the Nine Tails?!" Kakashi exclaimed in shock as he spotted the familiar nine swaying tails behind the enormous fox. "Could it be...?"
"Honestly," Tsunade muttered with a smirk, "it was our job to protect him, and now he's the one saving us."
"Has the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki truly mastered a full Tailed Beast Transformation?" Onoki asked, his voice strained. Despite the weariness in his tone, the veteran Kage immediately recognized the Nine Tails for what it was.
Standing atop the massive Gedo Mazo, Obito recovered quickly from his surprise. Seeing the appearance of Kurama, his lips curled into a smile.
"Perfect. You've saved me the trouble of hunting you down, Nine Tails."
"Roar!"
The Gedo Mazo, as if resonating with Obito's command, let out a furious roar and reached out its massive arm to grab Kurama.
Swish! Swish!
Two enormous tentacles shot out of the ground, wrapping tightly around the Gedo Mazo's outstretched arm and stopping it in its tracks.
"One giant is for Naruto, and the other is for me, yeah~!" came Killer Bee's cheerful voice.
Standing proudly with his arms crossed, Bee grinned as the octopus tentacles extended from his back. His body rapidly expanded, transforming into the massive, horned form of the Eight-Tails.
"Bee!" Naruto's voice echoed from within Kurama as the fox turned its head toward Bee. "Thanks! I have to stop Sasuke!"
"Leave it to me, bro!" Bee replied in his usual rap-infused drawl. "This Gedo Mazo's gonna be mine to hold down, yeah!"
The Gedo Mazo roared again and thrashed violently, trying to tear free from the Eight-Tails' grip. Bee, however, wrapped even more of his tentacles around the statue, further restraining it.
"This battlefield's too crowded! Let's take this big guy somewhere else!" Bee shouted as the Eight-Tails planted its massive hands into the ground. With a mighty push, Bee forced the Gedo Mazo back, dragging it away from the Five Kage and the coalition forces.
Seeing Bee handle the Gedo Mazo, Naruto refocused.
Kurama sprinted forward, its enormous frame hurtling toward Susanoo.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed as he watched the Nine Tails approach. His calm demeanor cracked slightly, his voice tinged with frustration.
"Naruto, no matter when it is, you always have to stand in my way," Sasuke said coldly. "If I want to fulfill my goal, I need to kill you first."
Kurama skidded to a halt in front of Susanoo. Naruto's voice rang out, clear and resolute.
"Sasuke! I know about Itachi! I understand why you're doing this!" Kurama's massive claws grabbed Susanoo's swords mid-swing, halting them. "But revenge isn't the answer! I won't let you destroy everything!"
Susanoo's blades strained against Kurama's grip as Sasuke's glare sharpened.
"Don't act like you understand me, Naruto!" Sasuke snapped. "You grew up with no parents—no family. You couldn't possibly understand what I've lost!"
Suddenly, Susanoo raised a knee and slammed it into Kurama's abdomen, sending the massive fox stumbling backward.
Sasuke continued, his voice filled with conviction. "I've already met Itachi. My goal now is more than just revenge. I will change this broken world, and the first step is killing the Five Kage!"
Kurama growled deeply, steadying itself. The earth cracked beneath the weight of its enormous body.
Naruto shouted back, "That's exactly why I'm here to stop you! If you keep this up, you'll only create more hatred!"
Sasuke sneered. "Then let all the hatred focus on me!"
Black flames of Amaterasu wrapped around Susanoo's swords as Sasuke brought them down again.
Clang!
Kurama's tails shot up like whips, blocking the blades. The force of the clash sent shockwaves ripping through the battlefield, scattering nearby shinobi and White Zetsu alike.
Kurama roared, swinging its massive claws. Sasuke retaliated, the two giants exchanging powerful blows. Each impact shattered the ground, uprooted trees, and sent waves of debris into the air.
Watching from a short distance away, the exhausted Five Kage shielded themselves against the force of the battle.
Tsunade and Onoki could barely remain on their feet as wind howled past them.
"This... This power is beyond anything we imagined," Tsunade muttered.
Suddenly, the Susanoo sword that Naruto had deflected earlier came spinning through the air.
The Five Kage's hearts sank as the massive blade hurtled toward them like a falling mountain.
"It's coming straight for us!"
"I'll stop it!" Onoki declared, floating into the air despite his battered body. A bright white light began to glow in his hands.
"Wait, Tsuchikage!" Gaara called out. "If you use Dust Release again, it could kill you!"
Onoki didn't waver. "I've lived long enough, Gaara. It's time for your generation to take over. I'll stop this here!"
The light in Onoki's hands grew brighter as he prepared to sacrifice himself.
"Super Giant Rasengan!"
Boom!
A massive Rasengan smashed into the falling sword, knocking it off course. The blade crashed into the ground far from the Five Kage, embedding itself like a towering monument.
As the dust settled, a red-cloaked figure landed gracefully in front of them. His long white hair flowed in the wind, and wooden clogs clicked against the ground.
"Yo! Behold—standing before you is the gallant, the magnificent Jiraiya of the Sannin!" Jiraiya struck a dramatic pose, his arms outstretched.
Tsunade blinked in disbelief before smiling. "Jiraiya... You're finally here."
Jiraiya grinned but scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Man, I can never get my grand entrances right."
