Naruto: The Tale of an Otsutsuki

Chapter 231: Chapter 231: The Promise with Nine Tails

After seeing Obito throw the Benihisago into the Gedo Mazo's mouth, some ninjas clenched their fists in frustration.

"Damn it…" one muttered.

Despite their desperate efforts to stop him, they had ultimately fallen short.

"Don't be discouraged!" Darui shouted loudly, trying to raise the morale of his comrades. "Even if they summon the Ten-Tails, we can still destroy it if we work together!"

While Darui had never seen the Ten-Tails before, he had heard its legend. He had also witnessed Killer Bee transform into the Eight-Tails. To him, the Ten-Tails was just another monstrous beast, something they could subdue with teamwork and determination.

"Ooooooooh…"

The Gedo Mazo, after swallowing the gourd containing the Nine Tails' chakra, began to tremble violently. Its eyes bled and it howled in agony, clutching its head as if it were experiencing unbearable pain.

Obito stood calmly before the kneeling Gedo Mazo, forming seals with his hands. The power of his Rinnegan allowed him to control the beast, forcing it to absorb and merge the tailed beast chakra inside it.

"Even though the Eight-Tails' chakra is just a tentacle, and the Nine-Tails' chakra came from the Golden and Silver Brothers, it's enough. Once all the tailed beasts' chakra is absorbed, the Ten-Tails will awaken," Obito said to himself. "With the Ten-Tails, I can cast Infinite Tsukuyomi and complete my plan."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Gedo Mazo's body began to swell and mutate. Strange limbs sprouted from its torso as it digested the tailed beast chakra. An overwhelming aura of terror radiated from it, sending chills through the ninja alliance.

"No… we can't let this happen," Darui muttered, his expression darkening.

Leading his elite unit, Darui formed a hand seal and shouted, "Storm Release: Laser Circus!"

Whoosh!

Glowing beams of energy shot toward Obito from all directions.

"It's useless," Obito said calmly, leaping into the air to avoid the attack.

Darui smirked. "That's what you think…"

The energy beams didn't disappear. They twisted mid-air, redirecting themselves toward the Gedo Mazo.

At the same time, Darui's elite team closed in on Obito, their blades flashing as they struck at him mid-air, aiming for a decisive blow.

Boom!

Before their attacks could land, an invisible repulsive force blasted them backward.

Landing on the ground, Obito extended his hand and shouted, "Uchiha Flame Formation!"

Fwoosh!

A wall of crimson flames erupted around the Gedo Mazo, forming a barrier that shielded it completely.

Darui's redirected beams collided with the barrier, but the flames blocked every attack.

"An enchantment…" Darui muttered in frustration. "If we're going to stop that monster, we need to deal with him first."

Obito rose to his feet, his Gunbai resting on his back as he addressed the ninja alliance. "Come at me. Even without my Sharingan, none of you are my equals."

Around him, more White Zetsu clones emerged from the ground, surrounding the ninja forces. On the other side, coalition ninjas gathered as well, readying themselves for the next clash.

Meanwhile, the battle between Naruto, Killer Bee, and Sasuke raged on with terrifying intensity.

Rumble…

A white slash of energy from Sasuke's Susanoo tore across the battlefield, splitting a distant hill in two. Sand and wind roared through the air, burying nearby ninjas under debris.

"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence!"

From below, Yamato slammed his hand to the ground, summoning thick tree trunks to catch the ninjas thrown into the air by the shockwave.

"Everyone, are you okay?!" Naruto, still in control of the Nine Tails, shouted with concern.

Earlier, Naruto had tried to persuade the coalition forces to leave the battlefield. But after witnessing Naruto and Killer Bee fight valiantly, they had chosen to stay and support him.

Naruto had taken the brunt of Sasuke's attacks to protect his allies. Yet despite the ongoing battle, Naruto couldn't unleash the Tailed Beast Bomb—the attack was far too dangerous for his comrades nearby.

Still, the ninja alliance wasn't just a burden. They used clever tactics and jutsu to disrupt Sasuke's Susanoo, buying Naruto and Killer Bee precious time to wear Sasuke down.

"Naruto! Something's wrong! The Ten-Tails is about to be resurrected!"

The Nine Tails' voice echoed urgently in Naruto's mind.

"Ten-Tails? But I thought it needed your chakra and the Eight-Tails' chakra?" Naruto asked in confusion.

"It doesn't matter! You sensed that other power earlier, didn't you? The chakra from the Golden and Silver Brothers?"

"Yeah…" Naruto nodded.

As the perfect Jinchuriki, Naruto had felt the faint presence of the Nine Tails' chakra when Samui brought the Benihisago into the battlefield. But at the time, he had been too focused on fighting Sasuke to pay attention.

"Those fragments of my chakra were enough to awaken the Ten-Tails. If we don't stop this now, it's over," Kurama said gravely.

"But Sasuke…" Naruto hesitated, glancing at his rival.

"Idiot!" Kurama roared. "If the Ten-Tails is revived, the whole world will be destroyed. You won't be able to save Sasuke or anyone else. You'll die right alongside him!"

Naruto scratched his head sheepishly. "Yeah… but we had a promise, you know?"

"Hmph. If the world perishes, what good is that promise?" Kurama snapped.

Naruto's expression hardened. "You're right. I'll stop the Ten-Tails… and I'll bring Sasuke back, no matter what. Just watch me, Kurama."

Kurama growled softly in response, his tone filled with reluctant approval.
