Chapter 321: Chapter 321: Breakthrough
Put aside the threat of the Otsutsuki.
Set aside the training.
Walk through the desert, across the prairie, through the valleys, along the beach.
When the mood strikes, walk a little; when feeling tired, sit down and rest.
If laziness strikes, find an inn, eat, sleep, and sleep some more for a couple of months.
Don't think about anything, don't do anything.
Maybe, this is the meaning of life.
At first, it was relaxing without Tsunade by his side.
But over time, it started to feel a bit boring, even lonely.
However, as time passed, Raijin's mind began to wander.
People are like that—only after truly relaxing, doing nothing, in an extremely boring environment, do they start to think.
In his past life, Raijin used this state to search for inspiration for writing.
In this life, Raijin used this state to look for a breakthrough in Senjutsu.
Just like in his past life, where he failed at writing for seven years, Raijin also had a foundation in Senjutsu.
Raijin's experience of sensing natural energy under the guidance of Slug Sage in the Wet Bone Forest had laid a very solid foundation for him.
It felt like everything had returned to the beginning, with Raijin walking and observing.
His mental energy gradually began to merge with the world around him.
...
"Ah! He promised to teach me, but he disappeared! What kind of teacher does that?"
Naruto yelled and stomped around the house.
"Well... Raijin-sama went out to look for a breakthrough opportunity. This is very important for Konohagakure," Namikaze Minato said with a slightly helpless look, watching Naruto jump around.
"I know he's doing something important, but isn't it just training? Why can't I go with him? Would I disturb his training?" Naruto said, clearly upset, looking at Minato.
"Ah..."
Minato stared at Naruto, speechless for a moment.
He originally thought Naruto wouldn't disturb Raijin's training.
But now...
Maybe he would?
"If you go with Raijin-sama to train, aren't you afraid that Sakura will end up with Sasuke?" Kushina said, resting her chin in her hand, looking at Naruto.
"Ah..."
Naruto's anger immediately faltered.
But soon, Naruto reacted.
"Why would it matter if I'm training with Raijin-sensei? What does that have to do with Sakura?"
He said confidently, but his face turned red.
Honestly, Naruto was really anxious. Raijin left, but Madara didn't—if things kept going like this, wouldn't Sasuke just beat him down?
"Oh, is that so?"
Kushina gave Naruto a dismissive glance.
"It's fine, Raijin-sama left, but I can teach you. Of course, I'm not as good as Raijin-sama, but that's okay. Maybe I'm not the best teacher, but we can spend more time on it."
Starting to stand up, Kushina said to Naruto.
"Uh... that's not necessary. I think the learning environment at school is much better than at home," Naruto said, suddenly caught off guard and forced a nervous smile at Kushina.
"Since you're afraid of falling behind Sasuke, why not ask Tsunade-sama for help?"
Kushina turned and walked toward the bedroom, speaking to Naruto as she went.
"Right..."
Naruto's eyes lit up when he heard this, and he immediately turned around and ran toward Tsunade's house.
"This kid..."
Minato, watching Naruto disappear quickly, shook his head with a helpless smile.
"Hmph..."
Kushina glanced back at Naruto's disappearing figure, chuckling lightly, then went into the bedroom.
No matter what challenges Konohagakure would face in the future, for now, it was still quite peaceful there.
...
"Tsunade-sama, my teacher left. Who should I follow for training?"
Naruto asked as he approached Tsunade's house.
"Tatsu."
Tsunade called out to Tatsu, who was meditating nearby, practicing Senjutsu.
"What is it?"
Tatsu turned to look at Tsunade, surprised.
"Take Naruto and go train with Madara."
Tsunade said to Tatsu. As Madara's disciple, Tatsu's words would carry more weight when speaking to Madara.
"Got it."
Tatsu nodded and stood up, replying to Tsunade.
"Let's go."
Tatsu waved at Naruto.
"Training with Madara? Does Madara know the techniques that my teacher taught?"
Naruto was momentarily stunned, walked over to Tatsu, and asked him.
"Is Lightning Release Armor a really advanced technique?"
Tatsu was surprised and looked at Naruto.
"Hmm? Is Lightning Release Armor not that great?"
Naruto was also confused and asked Tatsu.
"Well, it's not bad, considering it's a secret technique passed down through generations in Kumogakure Village."
Tatsu shrugged and said to Naruto.
"But the highest level of Lightning Release is the technique my father developed, the Lightning Body technique. Once you turn into lightning, you're almost unbeatable before the battle even starts."
When he talked about the Lightning Body technique, Tatsu's tone had a hint of longing.
It's a good technique, but... it's a shame.
He couldn't learn it. He just couldn't.
"Lightning Body?"
Naruto was stunned. "Is there really such a technique in this world? You should focus on learning Lightning Release Armor first. The control of chakra and chakra shape transformation are the basics for learning the Lightning Body technique."
Tatsu glanced at Naruto and casually said,
"Hmm, I will definitely learn the Lightning Body technique!"
Naruto nodded firmly. Even though Tatsu told him to first learn Lightning Release Armor, Naruto's mind was already taken by the Lightning Body technique that Tatsu mentioned.
"Well, good luck then."
Tatsu casually nodded without saying much.
Everyone has their dreams. Since he already said it, there's no need to argue, right?
As for how Naruto would learn the Lightning Body technique, or even if he could learn it...
Tatsu wasn't interested.
"Teacher."
Soon, Tatsu and Naruto arrived at Madara's courtyard, where Sasuke was training.
"Tatsu, you're here?"
Madara looked up and saw Tatsu and Uzumaki Naruto walking in.
"Yeah, my father's out training, so... please take care of it for me~"
Tatsu flashed a big smile, took a couple of steps, and walked up to Madara.
"Tatsu-senpai."
Sasuke, standing nearby, bowed to Tatsu in greeting.
"Sasuke is here too? You're really working hard."
Tatsu nodded at Sasuke.
"Yeah, Sasuke is definitely working harder than you."
Madara, from the side, gave Tatsu a playful pat on the arm.
"Teacher~"
Tatsu immediately shot a displeased look at Uchiha Madara.
"Hahaha, your father... He leaves everything to me as soon as he's gone."
Madara chuckled lightly. He really liked Tatsu, the child he had raised since he was young.
"What can we do? You're the strongest in the village, the most experienced, and the highest ranked."
Tatsu appeared behind Madara without making a sound and tapped Madara's shoulder.
"Tsk, your mouth..."
Madara looked up, pointing a finger at Tatsu.
"Are you tired?"
Tatsu grinned and bent down to ask Madara.
"Then I'll bear with it."
Madara smiled lightly, nodded, and then looked at Naruto, who was standing not far away.
Just as he was about to speak, Madara suddenly remembered something, looked back at Tatsu, and asked,
"Are we having dinner at home tonight?"
"That depends on what tasty food you've prepared."
Tatsu immediately laughed and asked Madara.
"You know, I can't cook."
Madara's face immediately fell when he heard this, and he responded to Tatsu.
"How about I buy some grilled meat?"
Tatsu asked Madara, and it was true that Madara couldn't cook. When Tatsu was training with Madara, they always bought food.
"Just grilled meat?"
Madara chuckled and asked back.
"How about some duck too?"
Tatsu continued speaking to Madara, knowing exactly what Madara wanted. But there was no rush...
"Just duck?"
Madara asked, smiling at Tatsu.
"Then... how about a roasted suckling pig?"
Tatsu also smiled and asked Madara.
"Is that all?"
Madara crossed his arms and adjusted his posture, tilting his head as he looked at the troublesome disciple in front of him.
"Well... it's all meat, a bit greasy. We'll need some vegetables too."
Tatsu thought for a moment and then said to Madara.
Madara didn't reply, just smiled and continued looking at Tatsu.
"I heard from Nawaki that Konohagakure recently got some really good sake. How about we try it?"
Tatsu leaned in and patted Madara on the shoulder.
"Then let's try it."
Madara chuckled as he responded.
"Let's try it!"
Tatsu nodded emphatically.
"Slap!"
Madara casually slapped the hand that Tatsu had placed on his shoulder.
Without hesitation, Tatsu pulled his hand back, missing Madara's slap.
"What are you still standing there for?"
Madara didn't take it to heart and said to Tatsu.
"You've completely forgotten the Uchiha family's manners."
As he spoke, Madara tilted his body and looked Tatsu up and down.
"It's still early before dark. I'll take a look at how you're teaching these two kids and see if it's the same as how I trained you."
Tatsu chuckled and said to Madara.
"Sasuke, Naruto, fight each other so I can see your current level."
Madara casually said to Sasuke and Naruto.
"It's different, really different. When I trained under you, I directly fought with you."
Tatsu clicked his tongue, shook his head, and said with a sigh.
"What's wrong? Did I make you feel bad by fighting with you?"
Madara raised an eyebrow and asked Tatsu.
"Not at all. The thing is, the moment I fought with you, I knew I wasn't your match."
Tatsu shook his head helplessly.
"By the way, did you hear about Otsutsuki Kaguya?"
Madara suddenly remembered something and asked Tatsu.
"I know. You forgot? I was at that meeting too."
Tatsu smiled lightly and said to Madara.
"So for now, you might not get the Ten Tails."
Madara said as he watched Sasuke and Naruto passionately fighting, his hands in his pockets.
"Isn't there still the Otsutsuki family? There will always be a chance, and honestly, I feel like the God Tree's fruit might be better than the Ten Tails," Tatsu said, still watching Sasuke and Naruto's fight.
I have to say, it's pretty exciting to watch.
The same Lightning Release armor, but used by two different people in completely different ways.
Naruto focuses more on power and defense, his Lightning Release armor nearly indestructible.
Sasuke, on the other hand, focuses more on skill, moving around with various clever techniques.
"Yeah, once we figure out the Otsutsuki family's details, we can plant the God Tree on their planet," Madara nodded and casually said to Tatsu.
Tatsu froze for a moment, looking surprised at Uchiha Madara. This has escalated quickly—wasn't it just a casual conversation? But since Madara's interested, Tatsu naturally followed along.
"Didn't the Otsutsuki guy die already? We can use his body as a sacrifice."
"Yeah, I'll make sure the God Tree fruit goes to you," Madara replied with a nod. Once he mentioned planting the God Tree on the Otsutsuki family's home planet, nothing else he said mattered.
"Why give it to me? It should go to you, you're the strongest in Konohagakure," Tatsu said, giving Madara a thumbs up.
"Hmph," Madara snorted and didn't say anything more, just quietly watching Sasuke and Naruto's fight.
…
Raijin didn't know where he had walked, but it didn't seem to matter anymore.
From his perspective now, mountains weren't mountains and rivers weren't rivers.
Everything in the world seemed to be made up of natural energy.
And he could control that energy to control everything else.
Standing by a sparkling lake, Raijin slowly reached out his hand.
As soon as he did, the lake began to stir.
Massive amounts of water shot into the air, and the riverbed dried up instantly.
Clear water darted through the air like a lively snake.
He stretched out his other hand, and the riverbed began to twist.
The once linear riverbed soon twisted into a circular shape.
The water settled back into place, and the shimmering lake had now turned into a deep pool.
This... this is ninjutsu...
Understanding the laws of nature, using those laws to guide things in the right direction, and using his accumulated natural energy to achieve the result he wanted.
"Ha..." Raijin let out a deep breath and disappeared from his spot.
There was no need to continue wandering for his training.
